Yeah, I know you restricted yourself somewhat on which Pokémon you brought to the fight. And I appreciate that very much.
At the same time, I restrict myself naturally by the way I play, like only raising by the generation and not trading between versions (i.e. If you're battling me on my Soul Silver you're only going to be facing Johto Pokémon raised in Soul Silver, etc.), plus not wanting to battle with a Pokémon until I've actually raised it (i.e. If you're battling me and it says my Pokémon's level 100, it really is that level on my game). So with those thoughts in mind I really don't feel like I was being too coddled.
Next time (whenever that ends up being) bring your entry hazards and Chansey and show me just how wrong I am. XP

At the same time, I restrict myself naturally by the way I play, like only raising by the generation and not trading between versions (i.e. If you're battling me on my Soul Silver you're only going to be facing Johto Pokémon raised in Soul Silver, etc.) That's an interesting approach, but I'd encourage you to reconsider it. You're going to find yourself verrrrrry restricted if you do. I mean, just looking at your list of viable options in Johto, let's see here... Meganium, Feraligatr, Typhlosion, Furret, Noctowl, Ledian, Spinarak, Crobat, Lanturn, Togetic (Maybe?), Xatu, Bellossom, Ampharos, Azumarill, Sudowoodo, Politoed, Jumpluff, Sunflora, Quagsire, Espeon, Umbreon, Slowking, Wobbuffet (banned), Girafarig, Forretress, Dunsparce, Steelix, Granbull, Qwilfish, Scizor, Shuckle, Heracross, Sneasel, Ursaring, Magcargo, Piloswine, Corsola, Octillery, Delibird (Hah.), Mantine, Skarmory, Houndoom, Kingdra, Donphan, Porygon-2, Stantler (lol), Smeargle, Hitmontop, Miltank, Blissey, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Tyranitar... Hmm. Maybe there is a lot there. Not much to arrange though. I'd encourage you not to bother with leveling so much, too, but I can't really blame you for that one. And seeing as there are spammable Gym rematches, it's really not that hard getting to level 100 anyway. The only reason I'd say it's not worth it is because, well, it's literally not worth it. The extra hours of mindless grinding aren't going to make your Pokémon any more usable. The experience battling in-game won't be valuable. It's just extra time. Competitive play is about strategy, not grinding. We work smart, not hard. But hey. It'll be good practice if you ever want to get into Gen V battling, since they took Level 100 matches away. ... >__<

I thought I may as well start posting videos too, so heres a rematch I had against Mikey's sand team, I also wanted to see if my cell phone was good enough to record battles. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAzbX05R860Hopefully I can battle you sometime fAB. (After seeing certain things in Gen V battling I'm unsure now if I even want to get into it.)

Well it looks like it works... But you need to use some video editing software to zoom in on the image. It's a bit small. 4 minutes of stalling; I'm so awesome. And that wasn't the first rematch. That was what... the third or fourth? Took you a bit, but you eventually broke the sand team. Time for more Nasty Plotting. :12:

Thats due to my phone camera it actually used to be widescreen but because of my camera I had to rotate the image or else it would have been at an angle, anyways I think it was the third rematch.
(Doesn't have any video editing software other then Windows movie maker.)

I use Vegas. Helps in adding in a bit more flare and a bit more quality; which is why I left the phrase broad at "Video Editing Software." I can't stand Movie Maker. «Mar 2, 2012, 9:33pm»
Thanks to Adrian's numerous "Gaming News" threads, I had to literally dig to the bottom of the 3rd page to find this thread again. Anyway. So apparently, now I'm Schizo.... Yeah. I dunno if I should be moving forward a generation in battling or not yet; that seems to be where most of the people are. I won't post too many battle videos against random people since that'd kinda defeat the purpose of the pkmnbattle station, but yeah. We need to get more Station people interested in the competitive aspect of pokemans or I'm going to go insane. If I haven't already.

Y'know, I've had Pokemon White for quite a while now, but I still can't beat anyone in random matchup to save my life. But that's probably because-unlike my team of pokemon in Sapphire and Soulsilver-my team is horrendously unbalanced.
Sapphire- Swampert, Grumpig, Flygon, Salamence, Sableye, Glalie Soulsilver- Skarmory, Charizard, Nidoking, Delibird, Feraligatr, Gengar White- Krookodile, Nidoking, Charizard/Chandelure, Shelgon (That I plan to evolve later), Tyrannitar, (Thinking about what pokemon should be my sixth)
My team in Sapphire's probably my best (though they can't level up so easily in Hoenn since all the trainers are mostly weak except for the elite four), my Soulsilver team is still in training (but things are looking good), and my team in White is horrendously weak to ice and water types. And the worst part is, almost every trainer has one in their party (even I do in my other pokemon games. All of them) and that's the only team I can battle people with. And I refuse to use any legendary pokemon. =p My plan is to get all of my pokemon from Sapphire and bring them to White...without removing them from Sapphire. Hard? No. My Swampert (Yes, I got lucky), my Glalie, and my Salamence are all female, so I just bred them all (Where do you think that Shelgon came from? =p). And it's not hard to catch a Spoink, a Sableye, and a Trapinch either. My biggest problem is that I don't have a second DS and my cousin always forgets to bring it.
I'm not sure why I'm ranting here, if that's what I'm doing. I guess I just want a response. =p

I was wondering recently why your location was "Hoenn". Guess I didn't bother to look into it. As far as competitive battling goes... yeah. It's virtually impossible to jump straight into any random matchup and expect to win if you're only battling with your favorites (especially if their types and weaknesses overlap.) The best thing you can do is look into other pokemon to train and battle with. As far as White and Black go... Their wi-fi battling setup has my disapproval. In Generation IV, you can battle friends without having to train every little pokemon to level 100 because that's one of the battle options; a level 100 single/double battle. There shouldn't have to be a need to knock out tons of pokemon just to level your own to level 100; especially since you already knock out so many trying to get the EVs. ...Oh hey. Now look who's ranting. :41: Lessee... If you're looking for suggestions and tips, I'll provide some. At a glance, for your White team, it seems you will have problems if you happen to run into an ice or fighting type. Charizard and Chandelure can negate this problem to an extent, but having more than one pokemon with the same weakness and only one pokemon to counter that weakness could put quite a bit of stress on you once that pokemon faints. Catch my drift? Here's an example of how I went about fixing a similar problem. At times, I've wanted to use Chansey and Cloyster on the same team. Really great pokemon, are they not? But, they share a common weakness. Fighting types. Sure, Cloyster's pretty defensive physically, but can't take a supereffective physical attack to save its life; and fighting types are Chansey's natural weakness. So who should I put on the same team? I'm thinking Mismagius and Venomoth. Mismagius brings a whooping 3 immunities (including fighting, of course) to the table, and Venomoth has a 4x resistance to such attacks. Mismagius can put a real hurt on opponents, and Venomoth can absorb Toxic Spikes and set up its own; or just attack outright. Chansey can sponge any Psychic or Fire type attacks aimed at Venomoth, assuming they're special, and Cloyster should be capable of tanking some physical hits and set up his own entry hazards, and explode once his job's finished. And that's just four pokemon, too! Granted, even I didn't like many of the pokemon I trained outright; sometimes it takes a bit of time to see the magnificence in a pokemon, but that's what makes it fun. Your outlook expands, and you learn to love 'em all. Now as far as breeding goes, you could use a Ditto to breed with your pokemon even if they were male, provided you could get your hands on one. I suppose mentioning this is rather pointless since you're talking about Sapphire and not Emerald, but there's a curious little glitch in Emerald's Battle Tower that allows you to clone pokemon. Thankfully enough, I was able to learn about it just after I had hatched TWO shiny Cleffas in the same inventory in Emerald. I haven't facepalmed that hard at anything since it happened. But... yeah. What you're saying makes sense. I ought to pack up the bags and move out of Sinnoh and into Unova, since there's more competition to be found there, and all gen IV has is Pokemon Battle Revolution for random matchups, and even then, those are rather stale and aren't on the DS... nasty.

If you evolve your Chansey into Blissey when it's strong enough, I can only imagine how annoying that would get. =p
Well, let's see. Due to my chain breeding, my baby Snorunt (and my less awesome Igglybuff, since their father is an azumarill who's clearly a pimp) knows rain dance and I didn't even have to find a TM for it-if there is one. Thanks to that Snorunt (That I don't have yet because my cousin forgets her DS constantly), I can probably teach Nidoking and Tyrannitar thunder to deal with the water types (They already know thunderbolt, but due to the lack of STAB I'm probably going to replace it. Besides, thunder doesn't always miss. And I might want to give them quick claws. They can be a bit...slow). And should I evolve my Snorunt into a Glalie or a Frosslass? I'm kind of thinking it depends on whether or not I use Dusknoir...speaking of which, did I mention I have a Dusclops with a reaper cloth waiting in Soulsilver? Or maybe I should just use Sableye...Either way, pairing one of them up with Charizard seems like a good idea...Well, I guess my team doesn't have to be permanent (but a permanent team=less headaches...). I usually do double or triple battles, so my thinking is based off of that...
I'm thinking I should use my Sableye since it's not weak to anything. My Mudkip is actually already in White and is a Marshtomp, so I should begin using it ASAP. And I'm really going to have to do something about my weakness to other ground types...maybe Flygon? Or better yet, wait 'till I get my whole team from Sapphire. They make even the 100 trainer challenge in Pokemon Colosseum fun. And beatable.
Hopefully I'll have everything figured out when my cousin comes over sometime...(If you wanna swap friend codes, I will. I only have one friend in my Pal Pad. Twice.)

Gack. I must've missed the fact you mentioned Sableye. I mean... SABLEYE? :12: You miiiiiight be a bit more comfortable with using Spiritomb, as Smogon suggests. They have the same typing, and I'm pretty sure 'tomb has a more expansive movepool, plus much better defensive and attacking stats. Not having any weaknesses is overshadowed by the fact that any neutral hit can KO Sableye. The only thing Sableye actually has that Spiritomb doesn't is a slightly higher speed stat. (Which can be remedied by Sucker Punch or Shadow Sneak anyway.) Mikey glances at Sableye's page again...Mikey shudders...So yeah. If you lack one, I can get you one easily. I thought I put my friend code in the thread somewhere, and I'm a bit of a sleazeball when it comes to opening my DS just to post my code, but if you happen to have AIM or Skype (PM me), we could use those. In fact, the only reason I actually got AIM was because of MMLS. Just about everyone uses it. My buddy list has even expanded beyond MMLS since. and yeah, Ex... PLAY THAT HEARTGOLD CARTRIDGE. There's more there than you think there is. I'M THERE. IN SPIRIT.And to wrap up... About Chansey... Ah heh. Me, Trege, Pitch, Buster Cannon, and Staulmaster (even though he mysteriously disappeared) battle with pokemon in the Underused and Neverused tiers set by Smogon. Chansey's top of the barrel in UU because she's such an awesome special sponge. Blissey's just ridiculous... She's at the tip top of OVERUSED. Hah. If I evolved any of my Chanseys, Pitch would probably flip a lid or two. Having a special wall constantly Seismic Toss you isn't as fun as I make it seem in the videos. Don't get me wrong though. I'm all for making exceptions to our rules to allow OU pokemon (Borderline is implied to be "overused bottom-of-the-barrel" pokemon, by the way.) I've even trained some OUs of my own that are itchin' to battle, so please, do NOT hesitate to ask.

Thanks for the links. You're gonna get me stuck on that site for hours. =p Well, I don't have AIM or Skype (You may or may not have noticed, but I'm definitely not a very social person when it goes beyond "putting my thoughts out there"). But since I don't actually plan on battling anytime soon (because I'll have a crapload of options in White once my cousin brings her DS, but until then...not so much. And in Soulsilver, my Pokemon are still in training. In fact, my Delibird, Skarmory, and Gengar are all on or under level 30. ^^ , I can wait until you just so happen to feel like opening your DS. As for that website, I had no idea it existed. That site's strategies might seriously help my pokemon with not-so-high base stats, like Delibird and Sableye. Actually, I'm not sure what to do with Delibird. I don't have the TMs to teach it anything super amazingly amazingtastic. It knows: Hail, Blizzard, Fly, and...um...Avalanche. Not to mention its base stats aren't so great. But since I'm playing White now I don't care to replace it. =p And after reading about my team in Sapphire, I realize now how good it really is. It looks like I made good choices in Hoenn. Of course, that may be because I've played the game for...oh, around 8 or 9 years now, and I'm probably so used to it I know which pokemon are the right choice(I suppose I was close with Glalie and Flygon, but their stats are just fine, IMO)... And I guess I should use my Druddigon after all, since its moves are nearly an exact match for its first suggested strategy on the site. And I may have a choice band. Or not. Either way, I know I do in SoulSilver. Also, I've wanted to get a Spiritomb since the first time Cynthia used one against me. But since I don't have friends to use the underground with, I'll happily accept your offer. You...may want to tell me a pokemon you want in return, though, or else I'll feel guilty because I gave you a pokemon that wasn't as cool. I can't guarantee I'll have any cool pokemon though...You want my shiny event Entei? I don't care about it. =p EDIT: I KNEW Wobbuffet was incredible. I'm actually rather afraid of hitting one, afraid it'll guess the right move out of Counter and Mirror Coat and cream me. I actually used a level 17 (or 27, I forget) Wobbuffet to trap Thunderus for a large amount of turns. I still couldn't catch it, though. :15:

What's everyone's party level? Also if I challenged anyone here... Are there any rules I should follow? Like no items, no legendaries etc...
