Oh. Well, I definitely am liking it for the most part here. Navigating pages is a lot easier for me under this new format as the page buttons themselves are larger than before, plus you can just hit that [..] box on longer threads to get to the exact page you want to go, too. Other forums I visit aren't as kind like that.

I am pissed about the "More topics from this board" and "Stories from around the web" box though, big ugly thing that I don't want and can't seem to turn off... I have ...ways... of turning things off... You get to live with it for the rest of the week, though! That's your punishment.

Oh, okay, that was you. Your original answer was somewhat ambiguous and I was just really confused. I lost the PM where you'd answered me when I asked anyway because apparently now they're called conversations and you have to label them if you ever want to find them again.
Actually, if anyone's around, check your inbox and see if that addition to it under the label subdirectory called "stupid talking" was a global addition or if the message labels are only attached to individual accounts. I'm not sure what's global anymore.

I'm guessing they're only individual since I just see Personal Messages still when I click on the category if that's what you mean.

Okay, awesome. I've got this worst case scenario going through my head where every single thing I do on MMLS ends up on that stupid activity feed. I wish they had an option that let you decide what kind of activity you want to put up there. Like this like button. If it registers as activity every time I click like on a post now, then that'd be pretty lame.

It's looking like it does, but try liking this post as well so we can find out real quick. Also, is this site actually auto-updating last posts instead of having to manually refresh to see when someone does like Facebook? If so, that is a pretty big positive.
Edit: There's a global setting for what gets shared with other users, too, if you're worried about anything showing up. I think you meant more detailed settings, though.

I dunno. I'm going to quick reply and test it.
EDIT: It refreshed for me. Did you stay on the page too?

No, I was browsing the settings to see if there were any other things to edit. It does look like every action you make will show up. Good news is you can turn off notifications for other users doing so.
This time, I'm not going to move a muscle here and wait a few minutes on a response. I actually want to see if a new post shows up while I'm just staying on the page.

You can also delete your stats manually, which I've been doing for everything but actual status updates. Unfortunately I can't figure out a way to sort the master member list by post count which is going to make it a serious pain in the butt to award five and ten year awards.

And the answer to my own questions are no. It does not auto-add a post like a comment on a thread nor does it show up on the menu page for new posts until you manually refresh even though it keeps track of the time.
I will hope for a delete all type of thing on the options because my own status update thing must be getting pretty filled up. It's like Twitter overkill in that regard, huh?

Yeah. I stopped using Twitter and generally don't like social networking for that reason. I'm on the internet. I don't want to be social! Logging every thing I do here is like having a creepy camera that follows me around everywhere on MMLS that I have no control over. That's not right. I'm supposed to be the one creeping everyone else out.
But, uh, yeah! I don't have to manually resize newbies' avatars anymore! That's still a plus!

Now that I can understand. I do my best to keep my own name off the internet as best I can. I guess I just don't have as much of an issue with it showing up since most of the stuff outside posts or who you're following can be avoided. If you don't hit the like button, then it won't show up. Things like that.
I will say that it should be like Facebook for privacy options in that you should be able to make custom settings for it. I don't want everyone knowing everything I'm doing. Then again, it's only a message board in that case, so if the worst that shows up is liking a post or where I posted, I'm cool with that.

You go into the admin tab? What's in there for mods like us, beyond them begging for money? It was where archived reported posts used to end up, but now even those don't seem to be there anymore. But yeah. I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about this shift, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. It's probably a good thing fAB signed us up early; that way, we can conquer the learning 'wall' a little sooner.
Ooooh, wait. They appear under the "security" menu in the upper right corner now. Nevermind~

It was fun doing the whole testing thing, but I'm going to bail out for now. I've been under the weather all week now. Peace.

Well this is...a surprise. I kind of figured that fAB would opt-in for the v5 testing, I just didn't think it would happen this soon. This is definitely going to take some getting used to.
