Many months back when Capcom killed the game for the first time, I made what would be my last exit from the Devroom. My last post was that we would have to accept in the end that Capcom had become Crapcom, and that they would never restart Legends 3 based off anything the fans did.
A year later, with the ongoing rape-fest of on-the-disk DLC, shitty reboots and worse rehashes of already-released games, a downgraded mobile release of Megaman X infested with so much DLC that it's painful to remember it, and now kicking 100,000 to the curb...I just don't have the heart to say 'I told you so' to anyone anymore.
I'm sorry everyone, for all of this.
Screw Crapcom of Japan. I look forward to kicking roadkill on their half-buried corpse after EA buys and kills their company in the next three years like they have to the last six companies they bought out.
RIP Megaman. You'll always be back on Terra in our dreams.

I understand your frustration over the whole 100k movement basically getting a "Good work, but it doesn't really mean much", but EA won't be buying out anyone. Capcom's stock is currently higher than EA's at the moment if you factor in conversion rates and by a healthy margin. In fact, EA's stock is now a quarter of what it was this time five years ago ($60 down to just over $15).
I will say that both companies should start looking at how they've been mismanaging both brands and throwing money into projects that ultimately backfire. Capcom had Lost Planet 2 and most likely Dragon's Dogma unless it turns out to be a blockbuster hit, but EA is still bleeding money, and this is even after Battlefield 3 sold over 10 million copies.
Again, my issue with both companies is that they don't know how to spend or develop within their means. Both try price gouging methods, but even these aren't enough to break even. Maybe they should both dial it back down a bit and go with safer titles (*Cough* MML3: Prototype Version on the 3DS' shop) because it's those low risk, decent reward titles that the industry is sorely lacking at the moment from certain third-party companies.

Who the fuck would expect that clicking like on a facebook page would change anything? It's the internet, not some well-organized protest.

I find it ironic that Capcom is accused of over-using on-disk DLC horribly, yet they're also the publishers of the game that I consider to have the best DLC's ever made. (And are awesomely priced.)
Though it is true that it was CyberConnect 2 who developed the game. Capcom just published it. Still, the many references to all of the great Capcom games (Including MegaMan) connect it too well to Capcom, in the good sense.
And by the way, that game is Asura's Wrath.

Well honestly Ben if you want this game made it's going to take a constant presence and a lot of time. 100,000 was never going to force Capcom to do anything but instead to show that there is support. They certainly know that we support the game and now there always talking about how they want to get back into megaman. It may not be Legends we get at first but more megaman games only increase MML3's chances. If they arn't willing to take a chance on classic or X then what hope does legends have? This is going to be a long ball game and we just have to keep pushing. It's only been 9 months since cancellation and we can't stop now.

Do you know what I blame? MegaMan X7.
It's 3D areas were really horrendous, to the point that it almost killed the X franchise. While X8 actually got things right (And got rid of the 3D parts), I know a LOT of people that were X fans and never played X8 due to the utter disappointment that was X7.
As one 3D MegaMan game for the PS2 almost killed the (sub)franchise (Or you could argue that it did.), then it would be risky to make another 3D MegaMan. And let's also consider the fact that the original Legends game didn't sell well at their times, times when MegaMan was a well-known franchise and when the videogame market wasn't as harsh as competitive as it is nowadays.

Gonna predict now that Capcom never actually revives Megaman Legends. Much as I'd love to play Legends 3, I seriously doubt it'll ever see the light of day. It's sad, but I think that is what's down the road.

I honestly don't know what to do now... Legends, and MegaMan in its entirety, was my life since childhood... I now feel as if a part of me was crushed... That there is a void in my life... Do I continue to fight for my childhood idol... Or just leave it all behind...? My psyche can't take all this despair anymore... Who do I blame for this pain...? Capcom...? Other Fanbases...? Myself...? I just don't know anymore... What do I do now...?

Do you know what I blame? MegaMan X7. There's more to blame than just that. Capcom has a history of running series into the ground. Remember Viewtiful Joe? Anyway, by the time X7 was out, remember that the franchise was already an undead one because of how X6 was handled. The Battle Network series was huge after 2 and 3, but then came 4 with its horrible translations and massive backtracking stuff and effectively ended its near million-selling popularity right then and there. Zero & ZX never really appealed to the old school fans. Maybe it's the art, maybe it's this or that, I don't know. As for Legends, it had one game released early enough on in the series' life, and it sold okay. Not great, but it was good for a route the series had never taken before. 2 came out around the time the PS2 was released and in the same season as Final Fantasy IX and Chrono Cross, so it naturally didn't sell as well as its predecessor. That's my take on it. Sometimes Capcom oversaturated the market without putting in the effort on some titles (X6, BN4), other times they had the effort but failed miserably in the results (X7), and then they get it right but it's possibly too late (X8, MM10).

It's a shame for Viewtiful Joe, loved that series, along with Battle Network, in fact I loved all of the battle network games, same for ZX, just keep pushing for Legends 3 and see what happens, couldn't hurt to have a little more faith right ?

I never meant that I put that entire blame on X7. Of course there's more to blame. I was just saying that X7 was probably a huge factor. I honestly don't know what to do now... What do I do now...? Do what I've always done: Find new franchises to love. Seriously, there are many other great videogame franchises you should try out. Don't idolize one of them and leave the others behinds due to pure neglect.

And by the way, that game is Asura's Wrath. I saw a gameplay video of Asura's Wrath awhile ago, where he's fighting this really big fat guy. Reminded me a lot of Megaman Volnutt vs. Juno. Similar premise, similar dialog, similar "form" progression. It was trippy.

Bowen, here's what I'm gonna do now.
Whenever I get miffed at something the entertainment industry does, I do the thing that it should have done instead. Even if it's on a smaller scale than programming my own game, I'd take the stuff that made Legends worth remembering this whole time and make a thing, like a story or animated short or whatever, that exemplifies these memorable qualities that got people hooked and kept them interested even after ten years.
It could be a direct fan tribute with the actual Legends plot and characters involved. It could have just the same kind of atmosphere and sense of open adventure without any of the real Legends stuff. As long as we keep making stuff, even little stuff, like writing a story or drawing a picture and adding it to a gallery like MMLS's or The Mega Man Legends Club on DA, you'd keep the desire for another installment and more games like Legends fresh and relevant.
