Now this is an...interesting bit of news from the Mega Man Network. According to them RMD3 has been taken off the front page of Capcom of Japan's website, which lists games currently out or games soon to be released. Something similar happened to Mega Man Universe a short while before it was announced cancelled, leading some to worry about the state of Rockman DASH 3. Thing is, DASH 3 is a currently ongoing, active project whereas Mega Man Universe had become stagnant for a long time before its cancellation. Given these facts the best reason I can come up with for its removal is that the game doesn't really have a launch date that would fit in with the other games that are currently out or will be out soon. : o Regardless, what's your perspective on the situation?

Oh no, I really don't like where this is going.
Let's just hope that they were updating the front page, and they had just forgotten it by accident. I had noticed that they had shown one game's button link twice.

I don't think there's a proper word in the English language that would be able to describe what a dick move canning the game before any Prototype sales figures had the chance to come in would be. The CoJ execs couldn't be that heartless, could they? You'd have to literally have no soul to delay the prototype and then can the thing before it even had a chance to prove its worth on the market the way they'd originally proposed. The suits would be going back on the deal they'd made with the devs back in February--totally unprofessional behavior, IMO.
Seriously, they at least ought to wait until the prototype's available to the public before actually making any major decisions like that--it's so much harder to help spread the word when the people you're telling would have to buy a whole system for a chance that, if Capcom decides not to can it , they might be able to download on some undetermined date. Riiiight. :15:

Regardless, what's your perspective on the situation? It's a tricky subject, my perspective. I'm somewhere between “cautiously optimistic” and “uneasy,” but if these unexplained, foreboding signs keep popping up, I can't be a long way from “panic.” By itself, it wouldn't be much concern, but considering the other hiccups lately, and the fact that this was one of the first signs of the end for MMU... It's a bit touchy. I'm trying very hard not to become concerned about the recent little hiccups, like the Prototype delay. I'm still under the impression that the Prototype delay may've been ordered by Nintendo, actually. The 3DS's e-Shop doesn't appear to have anything even close to the scale the Prototype is supposed to be (nevermind for only a few dollars!), and it's already been a month since it launched. Capcom would sure be foolish to miss an opportunity like this intentionally. If it's not Nintendo that's holding them back, they need to get on that. (If this is the end, I hope we still get the Prototype.) (We helped make it. We're kind of entitled.) On the one hand, this worries me because it definitely has been a slow month or two for DASH 3. While it's certainly not as quiet as things were for MMU when it got bumped off the front page, one can't deny that there's been a bit of a shift. After the Prototype was announced and all kinds of information about that leaked, thing's started to slow quite a bit. And the Prototype news itself came after a long lull, partly due to earthquake hiatus. (And even then, while the Prototype info was news, it certainly wasn't new if that's the same Prototype the higher-ups saw months prior. >_<) On the other hand, there have been some definite signs of progress and activity from Capcom: a couple polls, and finally another Event— enough that I don't doubt that they've still been working on the project, at least. But the quietness has me worried, nonetheless. (If it weren't for the Mascot Event's being so recent, I'd be a lot more concerned on this point.) The questionable “green light” status (I'm beginning to hate this term) of the project is another thing that comes to mind. I haven't thought much of it, since we last heard about it a few months back. I'd all but forgotten about it after the project came back from earthquake hiatus. But I suppose it's possible that the dev-team has reached or may be nearing the end of their extended trial phase, and the Moment of Truth™ is upon us. If this bump from the front page is an early sign of red light status... I just don't know. :21: But, all that other stuff aside, taking just this recent hiccup into consideration... I can't think of any good reason they would pull the game off the front page, unless it was a simple mistake on their part. That, and they do have other games to showcase. So, let's hope it doesn't mean anything.

While the implications from the game's fans' point of view is understandable, I think that this is nothing to fret over (even if it did get cancelled, most of us cannot do anything productive about it anyway). Considering that other full releases should be announced in the appropriate section, I can understand the logic behind bringing back some old hype and then letting the proper games take the stage. And if even that isn't enough, scroll down and see that RMD3 Project is still listed here.

This doesn't seem to be anything to worry about, just looks like they are just shifting things around and bringing the site up to date. Looks like we have awhile to wait for the prototype though.
However, if this does go...south then we should get our prototype no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
If your reading this Capcom then lets hope you got enough sense to know better.

Mega Man Universe is on that list, too. I don't think that page really counts.

Mega Man Universe is on that list, too. I don't think that page really counts. Well, damn. Still, I would wait until an official announcement (or lack thereof for a period of time before setting my mind on its situation).

I always try to keep a positive outlook when it comes to Legends, but I can’t deny that this, along many of the bumps we’ve had is starting to shake my undying faith that I will someday be able to play this game. Why would they cancel it now? The mascot for the game was just chosen. If they knew they were going to can the game, they wouldn’t go through the process of selecting a mascot and revealing it, would they? That’s a waste of time.
At least news hasn’t completely died down like it did with Universe, so I still think we’re in better shape than that situation. I don’t know why they would remove it from the front page though. That’s giving less exposure and shows less support from the company itself if they're not even promoting MML3 with their other upcoming games.
Hopefully this is some sort of mistake, and everything is on track with the prototype. :17:

I don't think this is a big deal. Just because its in a stage now where it seems that it COULD be cancelled, everyone is freaking out over the slightest signs. Obviously because we have been waiting so long, this sort of thing would be devastating, but seeing Megaman in a grilled cheese sandwich is not a sign that the game is being cancelled (If you understand that reference lol)
All in all, I'm just waiting... Plus, I don't think they would keep releasing all of these new devroom things if they were secretly talking about ending the game... In fact, that should actually be a huge deterrent.
I think that Capcom kind of made a big mistake with this "outside development" situation. Basically, they have marketed this game as a huge and innovative way to make a game, and knew that Megaman Legends 3 would be the perfect game to use, because people have waited so long that there is a huge rabid fan base that want to see the game completed.
Unfortunately for Capcom, that means that if they decide to pull the plug on a game that they have put all their eggs in with the marketing ploys and all sorts of outside involvement, it wouldn't just effect MML 3, a lot of people would be incredibly pissed off at Capcom for changing into what they are now... If they give up on MML 3, they basically piss off way more than just the Megaman Fandom.
With Megaman Universe, it was different. It was just some game that megaman fans thought would be cool to see released, and there was the obvious hubbub when they decided to cancel it.
It would be devastating to their COMPANY if they quit work on MML 3...
That being said, the game will almost certainly be MADE, but if they think that it isn't a good investment, they may just make a really crappy game... Which seems more likely, given that they didn't think that MML was a strong enough series in the first place...
All I'm saying is, don't freak out that the game is going to be CANCELLED just yet, but you may start freaking out that it may not be as GOOD lol

At least I'm not going to eat that grilled cheese sandwich after praying to it for a whole week. You'd think seeing him in a grilled cheese sandwich would mean that the game was going to be made, though. You've got to admit, however, that the Devroom hasn't actually released anything that's been hypeworthy since the Prototype announcement itself...and it's been a month since the delay with no sign of a new release date in sight. If this game's a total no-show at San Diego Comic Con in two weeks, then I'll press the panic button and hopefully all of Legends Station won't self-destruct.

I don't know... I'm still convinced that that would really hurt Capcom's credibility by cancelling this game...
But you're right, if they don't announce SOMETHING soon, probably that comic con would be a good opportunity, THEN I may feel something is going down that isn't good... But just taking it off the front page isn't REALLY newsworthy... I mean, they do that for lots of stuff... Like when Bioshock Infinite was announced, it was EVERYWHERE. But you don't see it anywhere anymore, it was taken down. It's just the old saying that New News sells better than Old News...

Oh, there's no denying that giving Legends 3 the axe after all this would be a seriously dumb move on Capcom's part, especially after that Resident Evil: Mercenaries un-erasable save data fiasco. I'm just concerned that CoJ's suits are dumb enough, or mad enough at Inafune for trash-talking their company and the entire Japanese game industry, that they'd axe it anyway. For all we know this vendetta against Legends 3 on the suits' part could be just as personal as the devs' drive to make the game.
Assuming, of course, that suits can express and harbor deep, vengeful emotions in the first place. It's a questionable phenomenon that would require us to corral and examine some Japanese gaming executives in a contained environment to prove or disprove.

I'm going to let a simple disappearance off the front page of a Japanese website worry me much. As far as we know, they're still trying their hardest to make the game awesome for show in the prototype. My guess for such a long delay from the Prototype is that they want to add more content to it, such as Tinker the Mascot. This does make me wonder though: How many more events until the release? How many more weeks until a release date? They certainly enjoy being mysterious... But as mysterious as Capcom is, I doubt Legends 3 will be canceled anytime soon. Remain optimistic and you will be rewarded.

This has got to be the creepiest forum thread I've ever come across. I will do the sensible thing and tell myself that it does not exist, because as we all know Legends 3 WILL be released.
Yes, that's right. ...but just in case I'm wrong--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
