Also, [Inafune] had bragged about the fact that he pitched Dead Rising after CAPCOM had turned it down. I wouldn't be surprised if they were annoyed that he went over their heads as well. Inafune did brag about this, but I doubt Capcom is mad over that considering Dead Rising was a success. Maybe they're mad at Inafune for his attitude about the whole thing, but definitely not for the end result — and that's of much more importance to Capcom, to be sure. Inafune had actually mentioned that in the interview in question, as well: that if Dead Rising (and IIRC Lost Planet) hadn't been such successes, he probably would've lost his job over the whole deal. Inafune is a big risk taker: he gambled, and he won. But even if you agree with Inafune's approach, it's a touchy position Capcom is in, when it comes to introducing new IPs. We like to criticize them for focusing almost exclusively on sequels, but has anyone given any thought whatsoever to Capcoms upcoming new series? I doubt you have. I know I haven't.

@pitch: You have a very valid point there. I had thought CAPCOM might have been angry at him for doing something like that without their permission. It's a good thing that Dead Rising was well-received.
As for brand-new series, I must admit that I would always be quite wary about touching it (CAPCOM, or not) until I read several reviews from many people before I dare to buy a copy and decide for myself if I would buy any more games from that series. So, I can't fault CoJ for making so many sequels.

Well, the weekend's over. It's now Tuesday in Japan, and there's been no response out of Greg or anyone other than Sven and Liana stating that neither of them know anything. With so many people worried, it just isn't very professional of them to not even directly acknowledge it after four days, so I'm pretty suspicious there's something up at this point.

I doubt it's anything to worry about, maybe they were just tired of seeing it on the front page?
Besides, there was still a Daily Report today, so don't you think they would say something?

I dunno. Protodude's Twitter says there was another DASH 3 link removed from a CoJ site, but a Capcom employee or affiliate named Eve Woodland tweeted to this person here that it was still on (and then this fan posted it in a comment on TMMN.) However, I've never heard of either of these people, and I'm not sure which department Woodland works in, or even if she necessarily works there in the first place. It's weird, especially when all Christian Svensson, who's supposed to be CoA's VP, didn't have anything to say other than that CoA didn't have access to what CoJ's web guys do and why. And yes, I'd certainly hope they'd say something...about all this uncertainty! There's a suggestion in the CU suggestion box called "Keep Legends 3 Alive." Since most of us have CU accounts now, it might not be a bad idea to upvote that one. They've just been too quiet.

Voted! I really hope we're just getting all worked up for nothing. Still, I'm anxiously awaiting some official news.

I voted that one a few days ago. All we can do for now is wait.. but I would like news straight from the horse's mouth, to coin the old saying...

I really wished one of the employees would at least reassure us that the game is still in progress.
Well, I am sure voting in the Keep Legends 3 alive box.

Snow released the SDCC itinerary with no Legends 3 in sight. Can I hit the panic button now?

Eh, probably not, first of all 'cause straight-out panic will definitely do more harm than good. :17: Secondly , because we still don't know anything- I mean, for all the information we've been given, the Prototype might be out by then (not at all likely, or possible, but meh.); also like I joked San Diego Comic Con has never been a huge source of MML3 news (or Mega Man news in general, I think). Really, SDCC has been kinda irrelevant to this whole affair from the beginning, so it's not like something's missing that was supposed to be there.
Personally, I'd wait for official word from an official Capcom rep before starting to panic, and none of this 'assume-from-silence' business that people have been letting their paranoia grow on. :12:

Very good point Blues, and maybe they don't have anythiong new to show yet? Why would you bring a game to a show if you have nothing new to show off?

That is true,Loken. But a word on how things are going on it would be more assuring. No word yet from the Dev Room.

Yeah, it's a lot harder for a company to comment when there's something wrong at all than it is to be able to truthfully reassure their consumer base that everything's going well.
The only reassurance anyone's had is from this Eve Woodland character, and Protodude doesn't seem entirely sure she's a legitimate Capcom source either.

San Diego Comic Con has never been a huge source of MML3 news (or Mega Man news in general, I think). Really, SDCC has been kinda irrelevant to this whole affair from the beginning, so it's not like something's missing that was supposed to be there. Funny you mention that, seeing as SDCC was where the first real hint of MegaMan Legends 3 was dropped last year. (The “oft-requested MegaMan title” in the works.) Just sayin’. I'm panicking. I don't care what you all do, but I'm panicking. You can say panicking doesn't accomplish anything, but neither does being so damn complacent about everything.
