I think that's just fine, HF. The faces look good to me, I can't wait to see Roll's full face!

Update: This week has been a rough one for me (moving homes, transferring to another education institute, among others), so it ended up much later (?) than I have hoped. Anyway, we're onto page 8!

Naaah, this time it was 7 days, 4 hours, and 17 minutes later than the last. (about 7.05 days) Not a whole lot to say in the field of criticism; but I do love how dynamic every comic detailing the retrieval of the (deflector?) has been. Can't wait for some reaver scenes.

Alright, face slide time! Is Rock holding the deflector? I can't tell. Looks mighty fine HF, oh and did you sneak the letters 'H' and 'F' in there or does that mean something?

Just passing through to say that I really love how you did the comic, especially the panel layout; and your style is awesome.

I think Lokie was referring to the symbols in the bottom two panels on page 8 that look like "H and F". @lokenmy guess is that it's HF's signature, or just a coincidence.

@ Mikey: Though I can hardly recognize the resemblance, I assure you that it's not intentional.
I'll give my explanation anyway. They're sound effects: The one on the right is "GI~", which is the sound used for creaking, and the one on the right is "Za-", which in this case is for sudden movement of feet.

They look a bit TOO mature. For 14yo kids. Or do you intend to change their ages as well? Also, Rock's face on page 6, top right corner. Anyway, I love how you do the action, the moves, I already want to see some busting! Their age itself has not changed , but...As for the more edgy/mature appearance, I am going for something which as Dashe pointed out, deviates from the original designs to give it a more unique viewpoint of the series (or at least the first game). One thing which I should have done from the start but would do soon (after two more pages) is to come up with Character 'design templates' to work with. I do this hoping to achieve a greater level of consistency. Update: Page 9! I tried applying more Photoshop effects to make some panels stick out more; I would like to think it turned out alright.

One week this time! The great part about this black-and-white format is that I could print most of it out on a black and white laserjet and probably save myself a trip to Office Max when the whole chapter's done! Having a unique viewpoint and style is important, especially since Legends 1 is the most easily-accessible of the three games we wound up getting. Hell, there are three largely publicized Legends 1 playthroughs going on right now, Legends (1) Abridged is done, and the first game has been released at least three times in English. Four if you count the 'Greatest Hits' edition. Having a design template (a character model sheet) to work from is an excellent idea. Keep 'em under wraps until they're spoiler-safe, though! I want to wait till the characters show up in the comic to see how you've reimagined them!

@ Dashe: Thank you for the advice on character models. I'll definetly need them when more characters make their appearances. @ MegaTuga & Avegodro: Now I want to redraw pages 5 and 6 to not make it so 'similar' to the games, heh. @ Truner: I would like to think my average working rate is speeding up; I got page 10 completed a little earlier, but would reserve it for next Wednesday. If the page 'buffer' overloads at one point, I might upload more frequently. But that's another story.

So you're aiming for weekly updates on Wednesdays? Awesome, can't wait! Actually...yes I can. I can wait until Wednesday.

Haven't posted here yet, but I have been keeping up with the new pages.
Looking good so far. I like the Japanese sound effects... gives it a little more authenticity. Also, props for keeping up with a regular update schedule. As has been mentioned, that seems to be a big pitfall for people attempting these kinds of things.
Regarding drawing style, I'd say don't feel the need to be bound to any particular look for now. Keeping it loose will let you experiment more and see what does and doesn't work. Old pages can always be revised later down the road anyway.
Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
