Yeah, exactly. I personally could live without half of the Legends 2 guys. I know we'll be seeing Yuna and Sera, and probably Bluecher if it picks up where Legends 2 left off. When Yuna “give Roll her mother back,” that'll cover Matilda, too. (I wouldn't expect to see Joe based on the way he disappears at the end of Legends 2) I'd be plenty happy without Bola/Klaymoor or Glyde/Loath, though. And Ira? I think that idea's mostly only popular in the fandom; don't know if Capcom intended that one by any stretch of the imagination. Might be nice, though. I guess. And I know there are some people who would disagree with me about the BB Brothers and the Loath family.
If all those characters are brought back, Legends 3 will definitely have to be a pretty long game if it's going to work. It would be like Legends 2 all over again, but with an even larger cast. :06: But I guess they shouldn't have too much trouble making it longer; games typically are a bit longer these days anyway. So there's always that.

Now here's the thing, Capcom has alot of pressure to put everyone in the game. The fans are going to want to see all these characters one more time. Ira? I agree, but Glyde and friends are loved by the fandom. Personally I want Glyde to be dead for real, but you know how that works.

Hah, I bet BDM is gonna love how far his thread's gone without him. As for me, all of my fears about MML3 (which were highly similar to yours) are dead and gone, as there's always something else to worry about than development of a game (unfortunately). I've took to saving the "fear and disappointment" for a week before the release date. I'm just sorry the walls of txt weren't for me.

I don'treally have any serious fears because I'm happy enough that MML3 is being made, and closure is great eitherway, but I really, really don't want it to suck! @ Mikey, no walls of text for you? I love em'!

My only fear is that this game will never meet many's expectations, even so with this project hyping it up, making every flaw much ore obvious when it happens. And that regardless of the content in the game, everyone's comment will be "not enough."
Which will either make Capcom rethink ever doing a project like this again. I think MML3 will actually do better sales wise because more print runs and because it'll likely come out just as most people are starting to get the 3DS, so I'm not worried so much financially as much as what the end result will be. But at the end of the day, I do worry a bit that no matter how good people will just say "worst of the Legends series, but better than nothing." regardless of what's in the game.
lol, Maybe I'm too cynical sometimes =P

Now here's the thing, Capcom has alot of pressure to put everyone in the game. Aye. My point exactly. It's a problem without a solution — at least, as far as I can tell it is. (Possibly a catch-22) We want a game with all the characters we've come to know and love, and we want new material. But there wasn't enough room for the former to begin with, and when you mix in the latter you only end up with more problems. I have genuine concerns over how Capcom can make this work. Even in an extra long game they probably couldn't comfortably fit everyone in. ... But I'd still feel a bit cheated if they left out some members of the extended cast. How can they get around that? I sure as hell don't know.. :06: Of course, that concern only really applies if this ends up being the final chapter of the series. But continuing the series beyond Legends 3 comes with its own set of concerns that I don't even want to get into right now. Some may disagree when I say that it's too soon to be worried about Legends 3, but worrying about Legends 4? No, no, no, no, no — let's not do that.. I'm just sorry the walls of txt weren't for me. @ Mikey, no walls of text for you? I love em'! I love ’em too. I'll take walls of text over one-liners any day. Sorry if the replies here were a bit much but I tend to like to encourage people to make those sorts of long-winded, thought-out posts here. >__<; It's a forum, not a chatroom, after all. But at the end of the day, I do worry a bit that no matter how good people will just say "worst of the Legends series, but better than nothing." regardless of what's in the game. This is a concern of mine too, but only a little bit. Even if that ends up being the case, at least it offers some sense of closure. I know if the game is that much of a letdown, I'm sure as hell never waiting for another game like this again. In fact, I'm pretty happy just to hear that the game's finally been announced and is being made. So long as it actually gets released, I'll be pretty happy, even if it doesn't live up to my expectations.

okay, I admit I'm skipping the first 4 pages of this topic, and bumping a 9 year old dead thread but here's something that always rubbed me the wrong way about MML3: Barrett and Aero. I like their designs, they sound like cool characters. But I remember seeing a diagram that said something about Barrell being missing. And on this page (http://www.legends-station.com/?page=mml3/story) clearly you guys thought this too that Barrell and Barrett are the same person. That Barrett is a younger version of Barrell, prior to him becoming a famed Digger. And that Aero (who is clearly the love interest for Barrett) is Roll's grandmother. Pretty obvious from her character design she is supposed to be related to Roll. I was always concerned on how were they going to explain why Barrell/Barrett is suddenly like 40 years younger, and that Roll's grandmother is present (I assumed that Barrell's wife had died years prior, so this means she's back from the dead AND younger) but still got Roll and Tron working on the rocket.
Is the time displacement a result of the System being messed up? Yuna not being on Terra anymore? The Old System reactivating? Why would these things affect the majority of the world and not Roll and the Bonnes? I love Time Travel stories (Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Back to the Future, Steins;Gate, Star Trek, Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, ect.) but there's plenty of ways for this to be screwed up (Looking at Sonic 06) and while I love MML, I kinda doubt Crapcom could pull off something involving Time Travel.
Also, as much as I LOVE Megaman Juno as a villain, I DON'T want him returning. Maybe as a cameo to explain what a Bureaucratic Model is. But I think bringing him back as a threat would just be dumb fan service and belittle his creep factor and threatening presence in MML1. (I'll gladly take a MML1 remake, that maybe expanded the last part of the game to expand on Juno's character)

The bit about Barrett being Gramps is a well-known theory, but I'm not so sure about Aero being Roll's grandmother. It was revealed by the development staff that Aero has at least a dad (Chief Goodwin of the Teomo City police force). A dad she's rebelling against by hanging around with bikers. This establishes some precedent that either she was adopted by the Goodwins as a baby, or she's Goodwin's biological daughter; a mysterious girl taken in later in life wouldn't rebel against the person who took them in so sloppily and overtly. Her vague resemblance to Roll is also completely irrelevant, because her character could have looked very, very different. She was designed in part via fan poll through the Capcom Unity devroom, and the design we collectively picked was chosen because it looked like it would fit into the world of Mega Man Legends. Technically speaking, the only logical way she could be Roll's grandmother is if Roll and Data and the Bonnes were the ones time traveling, but the emphasis on how mysterious Barrett's appearance and origins are in every official description of him that exists leads me to believe otherwise. That said, please read the thread before bumping it at least, but I'd really prefer if you just started new ones. It's been too long and it'd be better to start fresh with these topics because the entire fandom's changed a lot since then, even those of us who are still here.
