@buster Cannon Pikachu could Surf in Yellow Version. It even had that little minigame... But fly? That's just weird. xD Anyway, looking at the summary for one of my Eggs I don't see an ID Number. If'n you want to trade later, can you hatch one if that's not too much trouble? If you have a preference, I could do either. I'll be at my computer all night, so we can do this any time really, if you're available. @raven It's just using Mystery Gift over Wifi. There's instructions on the Official Website. [ link] Gotta keep your eyes on the news too; never know when something else might become available. I got my Dragonite! <3 EDIT 2: Once Yellow Forest hits the interwebs I can get my Pikachu and Raichu, and then I'll have 190 Pokémon! (without ever vistiting Kanto!) EDIT 3: I got my Pikachu and Raichu, bringing my running total to 190! Also I unlocked the Suburban Area so I can hunt down an Elekid and evolve him to Electabuzz for two more. EDIT 4: Got a Rhydon! Just for the Pokédex this time, but I might breed and re-raise one. Always liked Rhydon. He'd go nice with my Nidoking and the Tyranitar I'm eventually going to raise.

Nice, Green! You oughta evolve him into Rhyperior (just kidding, XD)!
I just got the Yellow Forest today as well! I caught three pikas but none of them know Fly or Surf, the ones that do are exceedingly rare, so it's not really something I'd absolutely plan on getting, anyway.

Looks like Pikachu hunting season's gone off with a bang. It took me a few tries last night, but I caught one of those little guys of my own. He's pretty good- he wiped the floor with a TR goon's koffing in the Ecruteak dance house. I'm in such a good mood, today. I'm starting to carve out a main starting team: Lv. 24 Croconaw (Bluto) Lv. 25 Pigeotto (Mangiz) Lv. 26 Ivysaur (traded w/ Staulmaster) Lv. 20 Ghastly (Murray) Lv. 17 Growlithe (Tiesel) and the last one's a toss up but right now, I finally got my magikarp to evolve into gyarados(Lv22)- what a difference that makes! I picked up a few goodies with Murray via the pokewalker, and after a mighty struggle, I sent Morty and his ghosts back to the grave for a Fog Badge. . I also plundered a lv.20 golduck, and picked up an eevee from Bill. Right now, I'm charting a course to Olivine City and plan to train the crew a bit. Things are starting to get exciting...

∗ Green collapses from exhaustion I just got my 200th Pokémon: Dewgong! And my 199 th Pokémon was TYRANITAR ! Of the Pokémon I have now, there's only one left that I can evolve by leveling. (Grimer→Muk, at a whopping LV38 >.<) The rest are all evolved with evolutionary stones, which is going to take a while.. (like a bazillion Water Stones — that would literally take weeks) I think I may call it quits and just head for Kanto, though. This is getting ridiculous, I think. @staulmaster I might evolve Rhydon if I wanted to use him in a team — he'd be theoretically more powerful. I think his design is just downright silly though; that had so much potential for awesomeness, too. =/ Ah well. And I'm not interested in the Pokédex page in the least. (Gen I-II 4eva)ravenf6 I went to the trouble of evolving a Magikarp too, which is kind of sad because you can get plenty of wild Gyarados later on. >.< EDIT OF SHAME: ... Oak gives you the National Dex before you set foot into Kanto? Really? I could've made so much more progress by now! >__< I didn't think I'd be getting this 'til I came by his lab in Pallet Town. Now all kinds of things in the Safari Zone are open to me and like a zillion other things. >___< I may put off Kanto even longer. FML

A few quick battles and the sad-looking piece of scale turns into over 10 feet of scary, draconic wrath!! I've heard a few things about a Red Gyarados as well, so I might look into that a bit later. I ran into Entei this morning, but he left before I could try to fight him. I'm gonna get those 3 dogs, one day. Ho-oh as well.... For now, I'm happy with today's results.

How do you connect your Pokewalker to Nintendo Wi Fi anyway? Or do you have to do it through your DS? Either way, I don't think I'll be able to get Yellow Road because my internet isn't compatable with my DS. :/ And I really want a Pikachu too.

But you'll need to configure your DS for an internet connection... There should be instructions how to hook it into the NWi-FiC in the box, methinks.

Yeah you have to connect to wi-fi with your DS to download the map for Yellow Forest then you can go on a stroll to there on your pokewalker. Well my team have been getting a little better. Here it is Typhlosion Lvl. 73 Tyranitar Lvl. 55 Honchkrow lvl. 40 Beedrill Lvl. 25 Leafeon Lvl. 45 Krabby Lvl. 22 I am mostly trying to evolve Krabby so I can have a Kingler. ^^; I just want to know does my team seem a balanced with it's types?

I'll see what I can do to hook up to Nintendo Wi-Fi then. So far, no sucess though, as it always said that my connection isn't compatable with it.
Nice team Slash! Yeah, it looks like a very balanced team to me. Mine is pretty bad because you can easily destroy half of them with electric types. Damn you Game Freak for making Gyarados a Flying type too! Why the heck is he a flying type anyway?! Is it because he looks like a Koinobori, those flying carps you hang up like a flag? (I don't know if you guys are familiar with those)

Methinks it's to give the game a little balance since if Gyarados didn't have some kind of quadruple weakness, he would be nigh unstoppable. If they actually would've given him Dragon as a second type, then he would only have a single weakness to a type that isn't even that common. That's probably why they gave that typing to Kingdra, since she's considerably less powerful (although she is classified as being in the OU tier according to Smogon).
And no, I haven't heard of those Koinobori, though they sound interesting XD. I always thought Magikarp and Gyarados were a reference to those Japanese carp that jump over a waterfall and become dragons or something...unless that's the same thing. lol

Gyarados seem to embody the notion of sea serpents and traditional oriental dragons to an extent. In the old stories, those dragons were hailed as divine creatures and the length of thier bodies could be incedribly long.... But the carp idea is a minor throwback to its previous form, I suppose. After surfing the seas, I dropped anchor (or would that be tail in Croconaw's case? ) in Cianwood City. I managed to grab a lv.18 metapod in the Bug Hunting Contest (almost caught a scyther.... ) and netted a lv.25 tentacruel, so it's been a good hunt, today. Next on the agenda is training my crew before going back to the lighthouse.

I just recently got back into pokemon b/c of some friends at school. I used to have the first five games and the strategy guide for yellow (before I sold them cheaply to a friend). I'm still trying to get them back but I haven't gotten an answer from him. Also found a version of red for a dollar at a thrift store close by. I know this isn't about HGSS (don't have a DS) but did you guys know that it's possible to get Mew in the original games through a glitch?

Dragge I never knew there was an actual working Mew glitch. Back in the day, I'd get ‘im with my Gameshark, though.. Of course, now I only want to get legitimate Pokémon — there's no bragging rights for a BS 100%'d Pokédex. @rockbusterman/ @staulmaster I remember reading something, way way back in the day, about how you could take down a Gyarados in one hit with something like a LV4 Pikachu... xD It was hysterical. But yeah. Double type-weaknesses are tough; my Scizor burns out from any fire attacks (bug×steel); Tyranitar can't stand against fighting moves (rock×dark); and Dragonite gets knocked out cold from any Ice-type moves (dragon×flying)... @slash If you're not really interested in using Kingler, I can tell you that I caught one in the wild at Cliff Cave. That's a nice team you've got there. Mine may end up similar. Anyways.. At the moment my team looks something like this: FLAMEMAN (Typhlosion) LV 67 Dragonite LV 65 Scizor LV 62 Tyranitar LV 62 Nidoking LV 62 - Empty Slot - One slot's empty because I'm taking an HM slave around with me at the moment. I'm thinking of dropping in Ampharos so we can have something to use against Water types. Or I might bring along my Leafeon (TOMMY) so I can get him some levels and he can lead my Eevee power-team. If I drop in a permanent grass type, I think it'll be Vileplume. Either way, I'm thinking I should get a grass type on board. Part of me just wants to raise my guys at random and build several "teams." Ah well. I finally gave in and went to Kanto. When I got my National Dex I figured I might kick around Johto a bit longer, but decided against it. I wouldn't say I regret it, but at present I don't think I've found a single new Pokémon in Kanto — and I've been all over the place. The ones I need that are here all seem to have 5% encounter rates which is discouraging. =/ Ah well. At the moment I've only picked up my Thunder Badge. I decided to wander around a bit fighting all the trainers between cities. I did a few minor events as well, and now I'm heading back to Johto for a bit. funfunfun

Thanks Green and RockBusterMan ^^ , I'm willing to tell what my team is but I won't reveal their moves since I want some mystery to the battles. I saw that Tyranitar can maybe be a pain in the butt if I have him in double battles or if I switch him out, it's because of his ability.

Combo Tyranitar with a ground/rock/steel type and he's fine. Works great with my Nidoking or Scizor. If you want to train your lower-level guys by putting them in and switching them out right away, they'll never be hit with Tyranitar's sandstorm either, which is nice.. I find it annoying, though; it's only ever been useful to me once. (Tyranitar knocked a guy down to a sliver of health, then the sandstorm finished him off) So when I came back from Kanto last night I realized the SS Aqua wasn't going back there 'til sometime later this week, and I don't have my Magnet Train pass. Then I realized I could just Fly there. (with a layover at Indigo Plateau) I don't think I ever knew that, even back in the day. >.<; EDIT: I found the whole “Pokémon walking with you” thing amusing at first, but now it's starting to trouble me. I like knowing that my Pokémon love me, but now my Scizor is starting to act like it's in love with me. It blushes when it looks at me (what color is Scizor when he blushes..?), it cuddled me, I can't even remember what else it did, but it was just. plain. weird. o___o EDIT2: I cannot catch Ho-oh... I had him; 1HP, no attacks left but SAFEGUARD. I just kept throwing every Pokéball;/etc (Heavy, then Ultra, then regular Pokéballs) I had at him, but with no luck. >.< Eventually he ran out of PP and obliterated himself using Struggle. x____X I'll have to try it again later.
