Gonna stop playing the game for now because I'm still too weak to beat the kimono girls (why the heck is fighting them mandatory?!), and trainers aren't calling me for rematches and there aren't any strong wild Pokemon to grind with. SPOILZORS The Kimono Girls are a bigger part of the game's story now. They play an important role in catching (or not catching) Lugia/Ho-oh. Anywho, you're not far from Victory Road, where you should find some Pokémon who are strong enough to grind against. And I swear trainers should start calling you for rematches any time now. TBPH I started getting rematch calls before I beat Clair, but who knows? It may be related to how much time you've spent playing. (~120 hours, btw... x____x;) You shouldn't have that much trouble grinding. I did a whole bunch of that last night; got a lot more guys for my Pokédex. (170 kinds ^__^)
I'm glad I took the time out to explore a bit more. Poking around through Mt. Mortar got me Tyrogue, who I've already evolved, bred, and evolved again into all the possible kinds. Also found some nifty items that I can't seem to remember. I'm gonna look around some of the other unexplored areas before I head off to Kanto. I raised a Seadra and tracked down a Dragon Scale, so I'm ready to trade-evolve that. I should be able to get another Metal Coat soon so I can evolve a Steelix, too. (EDIT: You can catch Steelix in the wild at Cliff Cave! He's pretty rare there, but I got him within ten minutes. He's also at Mt. Silver apparently, if you're impatient >.<) Then, the only Gen I-II guy I'll have left to trade evolve is Porygon; but that's for later... Also, if someone with Heart Gold could hook me up with Growlithe, Mankey, Spinarak or any of the other exclusives(Gen I-II) that would be great. (I could swap it for some Soul Silver exclusives too)
I got Morty's phone number! This is so cool... <3

I can easily get you a Spinarak and a Growlithe Green, and with a little time I can get you a Mankey (that is, if you aren't sick of trading with me). I'll probably stick around for a while longer: I just beat Whitney for a plain badge (her miltank was so annoying.. <blasted roll out and attract ) I'm so glad I taught my ivysaur leech seed: it really shines in drawn-out battles. I'm going to check out the Game Corner for a while before moving on. Is that my Ivysaur? lol, how is he holding up? Btw, just to let you know, I found the Game Corner extremely dissapointing and boring. I hate Voltorb Flip, or whatever that tedious game is called. And Rockbuster, great name for the Red Gyarados (lol, yugiohabridged), I actually never thought of the ressemblance between the two rages. Here are a few of my nicknames: Quilava: Daxter (fitting since my character's name is Jak) Spinarak: Tarantulus (guess where that name is from and receive a free starter of your choice! (it's really quite obvious, though (no cheating))). Flaffy: Wool ( I wonder where I got that from?) Togetic: Toto (not very original) Sudowoodo: Poseur (Well, he is!) Krabby: Claws (snap) My personal favourite is my Torterra's nickname: Shellsock. Pretty unoriginal but very fitting.

If I'm not mistaken, there was a predacon named Tarantulus from Beast Wars.. was that where you got the name from? BTW, Staul, your bulbasaur's doing great: he evolved to an ivysaur a few days ago, and he's as versatile in battle as a swiss army knife. *notices previous comment* Do'h, mea culpa, Staul..... Not much going on for me, tonight. I caught a sudowoodo and I'm heading back to New Bark Town to show Prof. Elm my Togepi before heading to Ecruteak City.. *notices the previous comment

That's right, ravenf6 (it really was easy, wasn't it, lol)! That's great to hear about your Bulbasaur too. I hope he'll be useful when battling the Elite Four (or any other time you deem him fit to use). By the way, what was your fault, exactly? I'm kind of lost On a side note, I really enjoy the Pokéathlon. The whole Aprijuice thing and Performance chart is a bit confusing and hard to get used to, but the system is, imo, very well-built for a small side-quest.

I can easily get you a Spinarak and a Growlithe Green, and with a little time I can get you a Mankey (that is, if you aren't sick of trading with me). Raven already traded me a Spinarak, actually, but if you could set me up with a Growlithe, that would be cool; I would so actually raise a Growlithe, too.. I could send you Vulpix in exchange, because she's exclusive to Soul Silver. The only reason I might like to get them from someone else is so I can have more Pokémon with different IDs to increase my chances in the lottery. At some point I'll also be looking for someone to send me a Phanpy, Mantine and Gligar. Btw, just to let you know, I found the Game Corner extremely dissapointing and boring. I hate Voltorb Flip, or whatever that tedious game is called. I agree completely, although I'm not sure if I actually miss the slots. At least with this game you have some control over winning or losing. >__< I managed to get my Dratini early on, so that was pretty sweet. Those TMs seem like they'd be impossible to get, though. o___o Anyway, since everyone seems to be posting their teams, I'll do that too.. Mine's kinda sketchy because I spent so much time raising other dudes, that I'm not sure which ones I take with me into battle all the time.. - FLAMEMAN (Typhlosion): originally FIREMAN (Cyndaquil) then HEATMAN(Quilava) — this is a double reference actually... anyone want to guess what my name should be? >.<
- Scizor: thinking about naming him CUTMAN, but I don't really like it...
- Golem: Again, was thinking STONEMAN perhaps, or ROCKMAN as a joke...
- Nidoking: I've got nothing for this one
- Dragonair or Pupitar: No nicknames. I can't decide which pseudo-Legendary I want to keep with me at all times. Tyranitar would be another Rock type, so I may ditch him...
- Ampharos; again, no nickname (I needed Ampharos for the Elite Four, and I've grown attached since.. >.<)
Then there's my Eevee team that I'm still working on leveling. They all have nicknames you might appreciate. I might tell you when I'm done messing with them. Also, did I mention I got Morty, the Gym Leader's phone number? ∗checks∗ Ahh, yes I did. But yeah.. I got Morty's phone number. XD

Lol, I have the same problem. There are so many different pkmn I want to use for my team that I usually can't decide. Quilava, Spinarak, and Flaffy are my main pokés, with the others usually interchanging (btw, Sudowoodo isn't in my team, I just put him there to show off his nickname, I actually have an Onix).

Wow Green, you're making some serious progress on that Pokedex. I've got about 130 or so caught, and that's with all 16 badges! Included are Mewtwo, Suicune, and Articuno; the latter was a nightmare to catch, as I blew all of my Dusk Balls while it was sleeping AND in red health. Also, I see what you did there with the Mr. Match reference! XD
My team as of now (that I started raising as early as Platinum) is as follows:
Abomasnow (Evergreen) Glaceon (Diamond) Mamoswine (Cold Cut) Froslass (60 Below) Walrein (Blubbers) Blissey--She's a stand-in until I get Weavile traded over.
Right now I'm catching more Pokemon and raising my current team. The swarm info on the radio is really nice, as I've caught quite a few cool ones with it. Also, I love the GB player you get after clearing all 16 badges! Hearing those 8-bit tracks again was so nostalgic.

@buster Cannon It's all about getting them evolutions. I've been pulling guys out of my Box in the PC and leveling them to get 'em all evolved. (Actually, if you want a quick tip to make that faster: turn off battle animations; they get really tiresome when you're just grinding away) I've only caught a few new guys recently (Kingler, Steelix) — I can't tell you how glorious False Swipe is.. (<3) There's still some guys I can catch in Johto, but they're the more tricky ones. (Like the ones you have to headbutt a tree a million times to get...) I'm actually done with Johto otherwise. I still have to explore Whirl Islands in full, but there are no new Pokémon to catch there, so I might not bother for a while — unless I find out there are some sweet items there or something. (I hate having to use Flash...) But my progress through Kanto is going to be similarly slow-going. I like to take my time, trying to catch as many as I can in any given area.. (I know "Gotta catch 'em all" hasn't been the tagline for the series in two generations, but I swear it's quite fun — and it's given me a new appreciation for how much work Rival Trainer had to do in the original games..)But I'll probably move over into Kanto pretty soon, anyway. The grinding is getting a bit tedious now that I have fewer places to go; and most of the guys I need to evolve don't evolve 'til the mid-30s... Victory Road just doesn't cut it any more. >__< Is it true you get to pick an original starter Pokémon later on? If it is, I'm going for Charmander. Also nice catch with the Mr. Match (I prefer "Hinoken") reference.

Yep, once you've beaten Red Prof. Oak lets you take your pick from one of the 3 Kanto Starters. Since I already have Squirtle on my Platinum file, I'll more than likely go with Bulbasaur. To take it even further you can actually get a Hoenn starter from Steven Stone after defeating Red!

Nifty. And... meh.
Staulmaster set me up with a Bulbasaur already, so with Charmander I can get 2⁄3 of it covered. ^__^ Long way to go before that, though. Free clones if you'd like them, when the time comes.
I'm back in the Safari Zone trying to get that friggin' Murkrow. *sigh* Err... actually, just as I was typing this I caught him. Nifty. If I really work at it, I could get up to 180 kinds before I go to bed. (EDIT: And I did! Sweet. ...Well, 'night) (EDIT 2: Plus two! Tracked down an Aipom and a Heracross! >__< I can't stop) (EDIT 3: caught Tangela, for one more; didn't even know there was grass on Route 44! >.<)

BTW, I've got some Totodile eggs if anyone's interested! I'll happily trade for other starters & pokes that aren't in SoulSilver.

@slash I thought Yellow Forest is available tomorrow? I'm looking forward to that too, so's I can get me a Pikachu. Though I have a feeling I'll be able to find those in Kanto somewhere... @buster Cannon I can trade you a Cyndaquil egg. (can you trade eggs? Do traded Eggs still have the Original Trainer's ID Number?) I'll have to breed some first, though.. Anyway, I think I'm going to shelf this game for a while, since my conquest of Johto is basically complete.. I'm so behind on my schoolwork because of this game, it's not even funny any more. I think I should probably leave Kanto for some time when I'm not so buried in overdue assignments. >.<

The ones in Yellow Forest are more interesting because there's a chance one may have Fly or Surf! (As odd as that is...) I still have the Pikachu-colored Pichu that I haven't evolved yet, but it'll be fun to see if I get any special ones.Sure thing. Eggs have been trade-able since G/S/C, and I think they do have the original ID number, though I'm not 100% sure on that. I decided to use eggs because you're allowed to nickname them as opposed to hatched Pokemon (that and because I'm lazy XD).

Just how does this event go? I hope it's not just for the morning, work and all that sort of thing. So far, the pokewalker's proving its usefulness- I've netted a psyduck and sunkern with my flaffy. Differents routes allow you to hunt down different pokemon without the worry of wasting pokeballs when you're on the go, and it's a small way for building experience for weaker critters (albeit slowly).
