I believe there are two good colours to complement the gold on her; purple, the colour of royalty, or a very piercing shade of red. It all depends on what kind of character you want Lachesis to be. For your second picture, just as you said, it is simple, yet conveys great power and expression. I love the contrast between Death and the rest of the image. It makes it feel as if the darkness is slowly consuming and corrupting more and more of the pure, white, beautiful world... or at least the paper. To keep the simple feel, I suggest using markers, but only if you're comfortable and experienced with them. Like I learned in a great and satisfying piece of literature... About how to draw manga... "A good colouring can't make bad artwork good, but a bad colouring can make good artwork bad." Thank you, I'll bear those in mind. Phew....Artist block rears its ugly head.... throw school and work into the mix and that makes for a lack of updates. It's not much for tonight, but I have one offering that I just finished not too long ago: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/TheMessenger.jpgI'm fairly certain one or two people will say "What IS that?!" To tell you the truth...even I'm not sure! I wasn't thinking of something grotesque when I put pencil to the sketchbook. All I can tell you was that towards the middle, I was listening to a good bit of Final Fantasy VI music, Dancing Mad and Battle to the Death among them (Kefka's one sick, crazy little monkey). Those pretty much set the mood for this abomination... I can't call it right... but I can't call it wrong, either.... Weirdness aside, I enjoyed working on this one- maybe I might try a new one with Solrac or Edgar fighting this fiend, or something like it. In regards to other current projects, I finished the initial drawing of a long-term request, and I've started coloring the Dark Cloud work. If anyone wants to see the request one, just let me know. Other than that, I plan to do a little more work with Lachesis. Until next time, then.

Tonight's additions are a little old and new. My sketch book is nearly filled... Wow... seems like only yesterday when I first received it.. Be it ever so humble, I've become proud of the work I've put into it- looking back on it, I've made a few slight improvements.. so here we go... i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/skyscene.jpgI was really lazy (understatement)with this in the beginning, as you can see in the buildings. At the time, I was in a Sonic and Knuckles fix- which pretty much set the scene here- I had no idea what went through my head when I designed the Death Egg-esqe space station hovering out from below. Before I knew it, it stood out like a sore thumb. I'd like to start over on this, one day when I improve on buildings and settings... Next up, I've been feeling restless lately, my solution for that- do something different. In that vein.... it's another Heartless design (which is odd since I haven't touched Kingdom Hearts for the longest time ). I just let my pencil wander until I produced this piece of wickedness- the Fel Guardian: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/FelGuardianheartless.jpgLooking at how it turned out, I can see it in my stories now.. The best way I can describe this brute is a high-level shock trooper- these armored fiends epitomize the heartless' unrelenting desire to consume and to destroy any who would stand in their way. They are often seen guarding the corridors of citadels and palaces. They fight with the ferocity of a tiger, ripping apart any foolish enough to confront them. Weapon wise, the halberd serves for slashing in close range while the lance allows for stabbing from a distance. The shield spews fire and gnashes with its fangs. The eyes on the shoulder plates are capable of casting hexes, making this armored nightmare even more fearsome. I'd hate to run into this thing in a dark alley... I had no particular idea for this creature at first, but now I see the Red and White rose knights from Quest 64, Guan Yu's Blue Dragon spear from Dynasty Warriors, Sword Man from Megaman 8, and a little bit of Exdeath from Dissidia:FF. All in all, a fearsome design (given that I don't do these kind of works, often)- I'd love to see these guys go on a rampage. My work may not be anything special, but I call it my own. When the last pages are filled up, I plan to start a new book. Until the next update, friends...

I must be on a roll or something, because this is the shortest time in which I've made an update. For tonight's viewing pleasure, I decided to take a stab at some fan art. Lupin III's one of my favorite series, lots of good humor and capers. I took a stab at the ever persistant, yet bumbling Inspector Zenigata- the only Interpol detective who never gets his man... i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/InspectorZenigatafanart.jpgI originally planned to do just the main profile on the right, but added a few more of his trademark expressions- Owie, the old "Huh??" look, and for the furious expression, I often regard ol' Pops as a fire-breathing dragon in a trench coat when he screams his head off, so with that, and 40 years of failing to catch Lupin in mind, I made a little spin on when Pops finally snaps. School's starting to get rough, so odds are I won't be updating for a little while. Once the dust settles, there's a few projects that require my attention. I hope you guys what I have in the meantime, though. Until next time, as always.... ciao.

Like always, your work is very original and gives off a very cool vibe. You have done a really good job at capturing the vileness of that monster. I especially like the sinister additions, like the wings, eyes and torn cloth! The city, though simple, leaves people free to make their own ideas about the culture, the people, ect. But the flying castle makes its intentions perfectly clear, and adds a lot to the city. The Heartless soldier would really fit in with the other Heartless, and I can see alot of Zenigata's personality from the drawings of him. You're really improving with your artwork, and you were great even before that! Keep it up, you rule! ;D

I can see alot of Zenigata's personality from the drawings of him. You're really improving with your artwork, and you were great even before that! Keep it up, you rule! ;D I was kinda nervous approaching Zenigata- I liked his personality so much, I didn't want to ruin it. *sees last sentence* Thank you, it's no big deal- I'm just being my sloppy old self.. Tonight's addition's are old works I've overlooked in the old sketchbook. I touched them up a little and thought they'd be worth a peek or two. The first one is a little fan art. After a few weeks of FFCC: My Life as a King, I tried my hand a little art at Padarak's little king.. i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/KingLeo.jpgI really liked the crown and cloak, the fur trim was a little tricky. Leo's pretty young for a king so there's not much to be said in the leg department. I like the little details all around, though the hands are lightly done- I didin't want to risk messing them up. Next up is another OC, something of a bruiser: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/BaronBrokmeister.jpgBrokmeister is my first attempt at drawing a huge character. He started out as a prison warden, but I added little nobility and kind of controlled savagery. That mace is pretty scary.... I liked drawing this guy, so I might consider doing more works of him. I've been thinking about a few things lately, right now I'm leafing through my book and looking at some works I want to finish. Got a few other things in the works, but one thing at a time, eh, wot? If you like to comment on my works, be my guest. Otherwise, I'll see you in the next update.

Hello again. Tonight's additions hold a bit of sentimental value to me and accomplishment. So let's get down to business, shall we? This first piece has a little history behind it. Years ago, after seeing the results of my Sora-kappy work, I was asked to do another work based on one of the situations in my friend's KH/NES story- i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/StorybookEnding.jpgThis moment of friendship with Sora and Yoshi really struck me when I read it, so being asked to turn it into a AW was a daunting task. My skills were limited back then, and I did only a minimal amount of work on it before I showed the results to my friend, he really liked it. This work brings back fond memories for me, I helped him in this story from time to time, looking back on it, watching his evolution as a writer was one of the most rewarding things in my life... Before I start getting emotional, let's move on to the next work: It's something a little special to me: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/Sotwoguysmeetinatavern.jpgI had a dream about this situation- a simple premise(I couldn't get the Scumm Bar music out of my head ). A chance meeting between Solrac and Dragge, all I remember of it was there was a fight with a few drunks, then a proposal of sorts- might have been a going on a dig or exploring some place out of the way- I don't remember, but I liked the idea so much, I had to draw this work. I spent considerable time trying to get the characters right, since the rest of the art would be built around them- the bar, its effects and more. This was drawn on the last page of my current sketchbook, so I wanted to make this work really special. I put in little Easter eggs, so to speak: 1. I originally called this place the "Skull Tap' tavern, so I decided to include Murray the talking skull from Monkey Island in the banner. Second, I make a special cameo in this drawing as the bartender. Finally, if you look closely at the little photos under the banner, you see that they're miniature versions of a previous works that I really enjoyed working ever since I started putting AW up here-so consider that a little tribute of sorts. I'd like to dedicate this work to the following members: snowman, Mr. Ninja, Dragge, and everyone's who's taken the time to look at my works ever since I've started this thread. Thank you all. *bows* But don't go thinking I've done with this place : Finishing this work has gotten a few juices flowing, so I'm planning to start a new SB in the near future, hopefully with works that are even better than what I've shown you all, thus far. Like before, if you feel like commenting on my works, feel free to do so. Later.

First of all I lol'd on the Sora hugging Yoshi pic, hilarious. Next I liked that two guys in a tavern dream. Seriously Dragge?! I hate you so much b/c I haven't even had a dream with Dragge in it yet! ;D Anyway that piece turned out pretty good raven. Just one question; what's the paper that Dragge's holding supposed to be? Anyway keep up the artwork! Just wish I would have been in that dream though.

Those pictures are pretty good. Despite being simple and bright, the first picture conveys a lot of emotion, and is quite beautiful. Number two is interesting also, I like the details you added! Thanks for dedicating it to us. I bet the new SB will be really amazing!

Ave, folks! Good news and bad news: The bad- this quarter in school has me mired in works- Independent study might be more trickier than I thought. The good news though, I've got on top of things enough to put up a new work, tonight: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/Sanouske-disgusting.jpgI've been dipping into my collection for the past few days when I was watching a bit of RK. Which led to this fanart of Sano- this time, he's facing the unfightable foe- Kaoru's cooking! ;D I loved the initial reaction so much, I had to give it a go. The features gave me trouble, but I feel that I've nailed the reaction- at least to the point I kept laughing as I worked on it. As the initial line art was nearing completion, I decided to experiment with highlighting and shadows, which explains why there's darkened sections on Sano's hands and neck, as well as the highlights in his hair. It's not perfect, I'll admit, but pretty good for a first try. I don't know if I'll find any free time between now and and next week, but I'll update if I can. As the highlighting was experimental, please feel free to comment on it, or the work in general. I hope you guys like it, I really enjoyed on this one.! 'Til next time.

Holy crap. Cool Zenigata art. Lupin III is like one of my fav animes, and one of the few I can stand to watch anymore. All of those doodles are spot on. I take it the top left is an original expression, right? Never saw it on the show or in the comics. I'd like to comment on your other stuff but I'm just not familiar with any of it, and there's such an abundance I don't know where I'd even begin. You do seem to progress fast, though. I mean in comparison to your earlier sketches you've made some pretty big improvements.

Wow, the Sano drawling is really good, especially the hands, but the shadowing doesn't seem very natural to me, though. As you said though, it was really good for a first try.(By the way, is he eating tofu? Uuugh...)

The quarter is finally over, so now I can get back to business! ;D This past week, I've acquired a digital tablet and decided to do a quick scrawl on it: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/LachesisotheGreen.jpgGoing on this work, it will be some time and practice before I can use the tablet more efficiently. I like how the drawing came out, but the smile does look a little ackward... but then again, it fits Lachesis since she's an unusual character.- though I must it admit- that grin makes her look like a gelfling.. Since my birthday was this past week, I wanted to put this up as a special treat. Before I moved across the country, I took up a brief stint of college. In that quarter, I took up Freehand Drawing and this little gem is one of my personal favorites: i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu153/ravenf6_tc/FHArtMidterm1.jpgThe subject for this work was on perspectives. I really had no idea what I was going to do, but before I know it, a bustling city emerged, crafted from emptiness and given form. Working on this felt more like a labor of love than a class assignment. Not long after it was graded, my teacher asked if I wanted to put this up in the college art gallery- I felt so honored and so proud that day . Fortunately, this work did not sell, so it was eventually returned to me. I come to treasure this piece since that time. It was just last night when I took this out of my portfolio, took a few photos, and put it up. I took a few more shots of sections in detail, so if you guys want to see those, let me know. Since I'm out of school for a while, I'll try to get back into doing aw again. Hope you guys enjoyed the works..

That city scene is pretty cool. When I first looked at it I thought it was for megaman legends. Good job!

I love that city scene, too. It has so many small details that really give it charm. Great art, as always! Good luck with the digital tablet!
