To be honest, years ago I would have agreed with you, but seeing some of my fitter friends get bent way out of shape over the course of a few years has disgusted me enough to sway my opinion. It's ridiculously easy these days to end up sitting on your [bottom] all day every day, even while traveling. You might not like having to do it in high school, but once that's over, your days of not having to actually pay to use a gym are over, and I don't know of anyone enthusiastic enough about their health to willingly keep in shape. That really does get taken for granted; it takes a lot more effort to get out and go get exercise than if it's handed to you on a silver platter. Bad habits will catch up with you in the end; if you don't take care of your body now then it'll end up shooting you in the foot later on. Having moved to a different area for college and noticing the eating habits down here (lots of deep-fried stuff) has been kind of eye-opening. A lot of kids/teens seem to be in good health, but nearly all of the older adults are very much out of shape.
And when you do eat out, restaurants--and I'm not even getting into fast food here, just standard, run-of-the-mill restaurants--give out portions that are about four times what restaurants in France give, no joke. I'd honestly pay half the price just to get a quarter of the food at this rate. Yeah, having been overseas myself (to France as well as quite a few other places), I can vouch for the fact that portion sizes here (America, that is) are way overblown. "Bigger is better" seems to be the motto for the majority of food joints. I mean, just watching TV and noticing all of the ads for food kind of shows how there's more of a 'live to eat' than 'eat to live' mentality.
That said, the food itself isn't the best either. American dishes tend to be the most unhealthy around, and Americanized versions of foreign dishes are a different world away from what's actually offered in that country.
The only alternative is a kids' meal, and a lot of adults probably feel ridiculous ordering one of those for themselves, especially if the toy sucks. Actually, my personal method is to simply avoid 'meal combos' and just get the sandwich, so to speak. You'd be surprised at how much worse that side of fries is than the actual sandwich. And in cases where I'm given a monster-size portion, it's really more incentive to just save a big chunk of it for later, but I can see your point regardless. Plate sizes are a psychological thing; cleaning a smaller plate gives your brain the impression that you've just polished off a good portion of food, regardless of whether you did or not.
Really, stuff like that is why I'm trying to move into an apartment or something that has a functional kitchen. I really don't like being locked into eating the (reasonably unhealthy) campus food, especially when I'm used to cooking my own food normally.

Pikachu shouldn't wander off like that.
Anywho yeah I barely eat anything anymore and I watch what I eat. Just need to learn how to cook more food.

Gotta love that high metabolism. I can eat anything I want and how much I want and still be %6 percent bodyfat. If this golden well ever runs out I'm going to be sooooo fat.

Geez, just what do I miss when I'm not mad over the MvC3 DLC war?
On eating and stuff: I had over 20 of these cups of soft-serve ice cream and Oreo cookies called Cyclones/Blizzards by the end of our school's fall football season last year, and I had not gained weight from them. God I love them so much!! X3
Also, I don't really eat a whole lot during the normal school day. I've fallen out of the habit of eating breakfast in the morning since elementary school, and I've started barely getting lunch during the school day. I'm probably getting to a bad point in my nutrition level. :22:

You'll spend the entire day burning off what you ate, and your metabolism gets a boost from this as well. Generally we're taught to eat large dinners, but you typically want to eat smaller as you get closer to bedtime. Eating a lot before going to bed tends to get the food stored as fat, and it in return kills your appetite for breakfast. Vicious cycle, that it is.

Time to make the thread random again. Introducing: Pokemon Theme Songs! (all meshed into one video) The quality's the lowest it can be, I'm not entirely sure why, but it's probably because the video keeps getting torn down or something. My top 3 favorites are 1. The classic, at the beginning of the video2. Generation III's "Advanced Battle"3. Born to be a Winner (granted, the remixes are a little better.) Advanced Battle would have probably been my #1 but then I took another look at classic... This post isn't about the Anime series, it's about the Theme Songs. I did watch the Anime for a while, but it's REALLY stale now. Don't watch Sinnoh. :21: Even if you've never watched the series, (or don't plan to any time soon) you should at least listen to some of the music. there's ONLY thirteen of them. Last but not least, Gary Blue looks badass at 2:25 in a cloak with Eevee...

Vicious cycle, that it is.Well, I've been trying to get up early enough that I can have breakfast, but I've also gotten this idea that breakfast in morning = sleeping in class earlier. (I mean, I still sleep in class, but it's usually later on in the day.... and sometimes at the OPC if I'm not careful. XD) The only times I have a correct eating cycle is when I stay at either of my grandmother's house or at my dad's girlfriend's house. (I've only had supper and breakfast there, but I'm pretty sure I'd get a correct eating cycle there from my Food Network-loving father.) And on topic- Wait, there's a topic?!: I could time this to a NT Warrior/Battle Network vid...

Today's slow here too. Huh.
Outside it's one of those dreary, drizzly gray sort of days that're pretty much only good for making tea and reading. And catching colds from going outside. I like the rain, but I don't like getting sick from it. :01:

Today's just another day in my nonstop Spring Cleaning quest. I'm highly tempted to start sleeping on top of my blankets or on the couch to save myself the trouble of having to make my bed every day.
I think I'd be in trouble if I had to clean the rest of the house too.
