Well, from where I am, the classic toons like Rocco, Rugrats, etc. usually broadcast during the early morning hours. Haven't seen Angry Beavers in ages. At morning to noon, there's Dora, Kai-lan, Yo Gabba Gabba, etc.

THOSE shows are the ones that my toddler sister is so crazy about. They never end until 4PM central. :24: Danny Phantom USED to be one of the early-morning shows (6ish) but that got completely blown out of the water. A couple other notable shows that used to show were the Amanda Show and All That, and that stuff revolved around comedy. I'm never going to forget Moody's Point... In other news, today's a happy day for ol Pika.

I miss The Amanda Show, I would've wanted to try the Pedestrian Airbag, Pass the Skunk, Sugar vegetables (sp?) and Homework Hut. Never liked Moody's Point since it's not in the same style of comedy as the show as a whole. Nice theme song, though.
Remind me to download a torrent of All that when I get a new laptop (not downloading/installing stuff into this as the person this's gonna get handed to is not a programmer).
On the subject of iCarly, has anyone played Pak Rat on the official site? It made me think, Spencer maybe didn't dig up the old Pak Rat arcade cabinet. He built an arcade cabinet and made a MAME-esque setup, as the game is available IRL as a flash game.

Rugrats... Processing... Yeah. Nicktoons still shows that stuff. At least when it's not Dora or Diego. *shudder* I'm so glad I have school during the time those shows are on. Nicktoons doesn't show any of those kiddie shows, you're thinking of Vanilla Nick. Nicktoons shows nothing but cartoons, both old and new (including Danny Phantom). Speaking of, I can't help but wonder why they're starting to squeeze Rugrats reruns into the "kiddie block" of Nick. The show may be about babies, but I wouldn't market it towards preschoolers. So much stuff sails past the radar in older cartoons...

I remember Nostalgia Critic's review, he said that the beginning of each episode begins with something abstract that may or may not remind you of anything unrelated (or related) about a bunch of babies.

I have DISH network, and the channels (170 & 171) are marked NICK and NICKW, each of them are 3 hours apart, NICKW shows exactly what NICK showed previously. Far as I can tell, it's mostly "Teen Nick" throughout the afternoon.
We could be talking about completely different channels. Everything I know is a lie.

NICKW is the Pacific coast version of Nickelodeon--otherwise the shows that would come on right after school on the East Coast would be airing around lunchtime for people on the West coast. I watched the Amanda Show too, even though I think I was still a bit old for it. Penelope Taynt was awesome. I was watching Amanda Bynes when she first showed up in All That during a segment called "Ask Ashley." Rocko's Modern Life was the greatest show of the 90's, period. Hey Arnold was cool, too. Rugrats jumped the shark when Chuckie's dad remarried, though. Some people were just never meant to find true love.

Also, I miss Scariest Places on Earth. You, sir, are awesome. Back on topic of old television: Has anyone ever seen a show called World's Greatest Magic? (Or have I asked that before?)

*one week later* I don't think I've ever watched it Chan, *changes subject * but yesterday was pretty interesting for me- Third period was an "out day" for a "real world project" of sorts for Economics, where we may literally just get up and leave the school to do the project. We need to figure out what we need a month's supply of to survive in a typical house setting (grocery shopping, if you will). So we basically go to wal-mart and jot down prices of things... and such. It was AWESOME because my group (the only group of three) actually agreed to go eat chinese (as 3rd period is lunch period and we're allowed to eat out), which we did most of the hour anyway, and I'm still cracking up about it. Next time's probably gonna be McDonalds so it'll be faster and we can get more done, since we literally pwned one of the out days anyway. edit: I just reminded myself! I should add Chinese to that list...

Back in school I took a production design class and we had a project like that, where we could just leave and go buy supplies for sets. My group went to a gelato place and got Italian ice and ice cream when we were done shopping.
I really think they should swap a year of gym to a mandatory year of economy/financial management studies. They don't prepare students for that very well in most high schools.

Most of the stuff my Economics teacher has said is almost exactly the same as what another teacher has said in Personal Finance. Regarding required courses, Econ actually is a half-year semester senior-year required course (Government being the required class for the other semester), and PF is an all-year elective. I really do like my Personal Finance teacher better than my old Gov and current Econ teachers. But yeah. A required project for a required class.

Lucky. My high school just made you take four years of gym. It should have absolutely been replaced with a finances/economics class...there are better ways out there to fight obesity. :-\

there are better ways out there to fight obesity. :-\ Explain. To be honest, years ago I would have agreed with you, but seeing some of my fitter friends get bent way out of shape over the course of a few years has disgusted me enough to sway my opinion. It's ridiculously easy these days to end up sitting on your ass all day every day, even while traveling. You might not like having to do it in high school, but once that's over, your days of not having to actually pay to use a gym are over, and I don't know of anyone enthusiastic enough about their health to willingly keep in shape.

It should have absolutely been replaced with a finances/economics class Wow, my high school only had us take 1 year of gym, and then we weight lfting class which was optional entirely. All we ever did in that class was play basketball, though. XD I agree that a required finance/economics class would be a great idea, as that's an essential skill no matter what field you go into.
In 1st grade we had this neat 'business fair' thing where we got to come up with an idea and make money off of it at a convention. It was like a science fair, only instead of board displays you had pretty much everything under the sun. People charged (relatively small) amounts of money for food (my dad & I sold baked goods), timed video games, and other neat stuff. The best part was that you not only learned about running a business, but you also kept whatever money you'd earned that night (and we did make a decent amount)! Shame I haven't seen anything like that since 1st grade, though.

You might not like having to do it in high school, but once that's over, your days of not having to actually pay to use a gym are over, and I don't know of anyone enthusiastic enough about their health to willingly keep in shape. Obesity isn't just an exercise factor. Lack of exercise is a problem, but a lot of it has to do with diet as well, and people being ill-prepared to take care of themselves in that area. Not enough people actually know how to cook, so they either eat out or get the kind of stuff you just pop into the microwave and eat while sitting on your ass playing Warcraft. And when you do eat out, restaurants--and I'm not even getting into fast food here, just standard, run-of-the-mill restaurants--give out portions that are about four times what restaurants in France give, no joke. I'd honestly pay half the price just to get a quarter of the food at this rate. As far as fast food and pizza places are concerned, portion sizes just pathetic. It is nearly impossible to find a pizza joint that will even sell you a small pizza, and with fast food it's the same way. "Small" has almost completely disappeared from fast food menus. Ridiculous. It's like we're being forced into thinking that more food is better. The only alternative is a kids' meal, and a lot of adults probably feel ridiculous ordering one of those for themselves, especially if the toy sucks.
