Basically, do posts not even count toward your total, in this thread? ...or in this entire SubForum of "Mumbo-Jumbo" or "General Discussion"? It wasn't made very clear in context. Posts don't count in the Mumbo-Jumbo subforum. Posts in General do count, but only if they're not in Mumbo-Jumbo. Also, I've always liked it better when people start new threads to announce games rather than post in an ongoing one, but that's a personal preference and not a rule. It makes it easier to find when people are talking about games and actually get a discussion going. |

Up and down spring, so I couldn't be happier it's summer now. Arm injury ruined my April and May, especially when peeps around needed me healthy. Feeling better the last month, but I took one of my usual hiatuses to feel like myself again. I am.

I've been spending my August rekindling my passion for trying to get into voice acting. For the most part, I'm just working on my regular voice, but I have been trying out for a couple of projects which is something the me of years ago or even earlier this year would never have done. Going to keep working at it because it's fun to at least try. Have one more project to try out for today and send a submission in for. Might as well!
Even if it doesn't pan out, at least I'm developing speaking confidence which is something I've struggled with for far too long. It's actually more interesting reading from a script since it's what someone else wants you to say instead of coming up with commentary on the fly like I do when I'm talking over gameplay videos. Neato.

So I'm just gonna leave a message here as an update on things and... wel.. I know you guys care right?.... right?
I'm using a friend's laptop. Said friend is letting me stay in their place while I work at a plastic factory.
I had to leave my laptop behind because this is around 200km from home and my older sister needs it for her course. I would protest for her to get her own but she's unemployed and has a kid... not to mention divorced and living with me and our parents so I think she needs it much more than me.
Also regarding that job, my function was to connect two plastic caps into one, you know, for fancy perfume bottles which arerequested from France... I also had to cut excess pastic off the mould as it comes out of the machines. It was not as easy as it looks, my hands kept on getting blisters, healing and reforming new ones. What a pain.
Oh yeah, they fired me two weeks after I started and didn't even told me directly but trought he temporary job company which they asked for workers. Worse, they only told me about two hours before I began my shift on Monday, which meant that I was already fired from when I left work on Friday and they didn't even bothered to tell me. Then, I heard that companies do that a lot so they don't have to hire me efectively, as 15 days is the limit for a trial period. I still got paid for one week but I'm waiting for the second... ugh. Sometimes I don't even...
Anyway, my job hunting resumes, I really hope to not deal with that nonsense by using the employment center rather than a private human recources company. But the way things are looking it seems that I will have to resort to them regardless if they give me a stable job or not.

I'm currently on the same situation Tuga, so I understand you. I was working on the same place as my dad delivering cleaning supplies, it's a small company ran by a friend of the family. I was hired by my dad to help him so he was the one that paid me, unfortunately due to his co-workers not performing as intended the boss cut the wages of everyone including my dad, even when he was his best worker. So my dad can't pay me anymore and now I'm unemployed. I wish you find a good job and your situation gets better.

Still plugging away on the voice acting tryouts two months later. It's been getting easier to be behind the microphone and have fun. I don't think I'm good yet, but I'm still practicing on getting there. I still can't believe it's me I'm hearing when I play back my audio. I'm usually so nervous, but I can actually hear more effort than fear now. That feels good.

I figure I might as well add a bit of what's going on in life at the moment here, just for the sake of adding something to the discussion = v =. While this year hasn't been super great for anyone (please keep staying safe out there), the fact that we've made it this far is pretty awesome. Lotsa close calls, lots of random arguments, lots of tears ehehe = v =. But that's life for you! I'm currently working as a ghost writer in a circle owned by my (kind of) auntie. We have quiiiite a lot of writers now compared to what just amounted to myself and someone else years and years ago. I'd consider myself lucky because work didn't slow down when the pandemic hit. Suddenly, everyone else was having trouble, and I've had to pick up some of the slack in the meantime. We no longer take writers as the workload has been divided too much, so I suppose that's another reason to be thankful. As per Dashe's advice, I'm going for a decent tablet with a screen come December, and maybe I can get Clip/Manga Studio so I can finally make the move to proper digital art. I did manage to teach myself spriteart this year, but I've spent too much time in creative stasis. I wanna break out however I can, so I'm going to make sure to keep posting my work here  . Just having a bit of a break now, but MMLS is my home, and I'll keep trying to contribute to it while I'm here eheheh |
