So the Tony Awards were a week ago, and as I may have informed some of you, my dad had a few choice words to say about Neil Patrick Harris doing drag in Hedwig and the Angry Inch which made me embarrassed just knowing I share DNA with the guy. Today in some parts of the world, it's Father's Day...and, in most parts of the world, it's Neil Patrick Harris's birthday. Guess which one I'm openly celebrating.

Bingo. Everybody got it right. And yeah, that day was indeed misery for me.
At least I can take some solace in knowing, hell, I got a pretty good job thanks to my dad. Even if it's the only employment I get, I'll take it.
And besides, fuck college. Not like I need the burden of student loans and not finding a job, period.
In other news, my workroom at work got air conditioning and I've been comfortable working while everybody else slaves on below the warehouse, getting the offices below us ready for conversion. The guy we work for's going to be in charge of the office complex our restoration business is stored in, which--besides our business--is being fully converted into indoor climate-controlled storage units. So that's been going on while I've been working.
As for Father's Day, I got my dad a couple DVDs and a pack of Reese's Big Cups. I think he liked them.

I've been hooked on a PSP game based on the Toradora! Anime. I'ts pretty fun to recall all the characters and places... and it kinda wanted me to watch the anime again... if it wasn't 24 episodes long.
Anyway, for almost two weeks me and my parents been taking care of my 16-month old nephew. Except the last four days when he was with the grandparents from his father's side(they are divorced btw, so it's two days for each of them... I will explain this later, it's worthy of a night drama) It gave me the chance to realize that I dislike children. I don't actually hate children, because... well... not many people do. But I dislike their lack of normal sense since they don't understand most of the things they do. And I know they don't realize this but it still gets me mad whenever I tell my nephew to not do this or that and soon enough, he does it anyway. And I get mad at him. And he cries. And I get madder... the pattern continues. One thing's for sure, there might be a spot in hell for me, because I really lack to patience to take care of him. Hopefully it will be better when he gets a little bit older.
Good thing that tomorrow my parents will leave for a week-long trip. leaving me in an empty house. I don't know why, but I value these moments when I am home alone but I never seem to take much advantage of them. I hope to do so this time for once, and if anybody has suggestions, just say it please.

I don't like children either. Sometimes it gets better, but usually it doesn't and you wind up with a crazy ten-year-old asking you really stupid, annoying questions or a kid whose voice alone is enough to drive you to a mental breakdown because you know when you hear that voice, nothing good will come of it.
Being home alone is the best thing ever. I don't even think I could deal with a roommate. Not even the most out-of-the-way roommate possible. I'd say just enjoy the quiet while you can. Doing nothing but being relaxed during that stretch of nothing is certainly taking advantage of having the house to yourself. As long as you're not just holing yourself up in the same room you hole yourself up in usually, then that'd just be silly. Make use of ALL of the rooms in the house. Eat your meals standing up in the laundry room or something weird that your parents would never allow.

I don't mind some kids, It just depends on how they were raised. I see alot of decent kids around when I'm out at the archery range for instance...some even put up a intelligent conversation about the sport. I enjoy those types.
Then I see ones who only shoot for one day, and tend to be kids who are spoiled and poorly raised...disobey the rules of the range, and purposely ruin the equipment they rent out. Those are the one I cringe at a little when I see them, and actively avoid quietly. Overall, it's all about how they're raised and what they get to do actively.
Alone time = Recharge time. Enjoy every bit of it while it lasts....It really does work wonders for ones self.

Eh-heh. Don't just criticize children, folks. Grown adults can be equally annoying. With a child, you can chalk up the inane questions to inexperience with life, not so much when it's a forty year old. Of course, I'm apparently the only person good with getting kids to behave on all of MMLS, so take my view with a pinch of salt. For me, this so-called "recharge time" is dependent on how socially-active I've been. Thirteen hours with strangers would result in an hour's recuperation. Then again, I'm always IMing, PMing or texting somebody during those moments of exclusion. Most people do, too. I'm guessing having time to yourself involves zero communication, then, huh?

You can punch adults in the face, though. With children, the best I can do is threaten to punch them in the face because actually punching a kid is illegal once you hit 18...so the second those kids find out I can't legally punch them, I'm screwed.
My recharges involve zero communication with specific people I typically live with or see constantly for other reasons. It's not something I'd need to do for people I seldom have to deal with. Say, I'm living across the street from a character called Fuzzy Wuzzy (who may or may not be a bear living with alopecia). If I want some recharge time it pretty much would just involve going to another property where I can be guaranteed, or almost guaranteed, no contact with Fuzzy Wuzzy. I probably will not invite over other friends, since Fuzzy Wuzzy is probably a demanding, energy-draining force who doesn't respect my boundaries and has left me exhausted, but I'm not averse to going to a convenience store and stumbling upon anyone other than Fuzzy Wuzzy. If appropriate, I'd even invite the other person to do something fun, since they are not Fuzzy Wuzzy. Recharge usually takes a couple of days, but the target's usually ridiculously specific.
Should I go into a convenience store and discover that Fuzzy Wuzzy is there, and Fuzzy totally pounces on the opportunity to interact with me despite being fully aware that I've taken a sabbatical to get some space from him specifically, then that recharge timestamp is reset immediately to zero.
I guess the TL;DR version is that recharge time is a pre-planned, specifically scheduled block away from a specific target where the target is fully aware of my intentions. If it is interrupted for any reason other than a Class SS emergency, then the source in question can expect hell from me.

I agree with ZEROrevive, my recharge time, which is staying completely alone in my home, comes sporadically, sometimes early in the morning and sometimes on afternoon, but whenever I'm alone I can feel how all the stress runs out as I listen and sing out loud my favorite songs not caring if my whole neighborhood is listening to my sweet voice (I'm actually not bad at singing, really)

So...is anyone in the USA prepping up for 4th of july yet? We still have to get our fireworks, and other nonsense. Hoping it isn't going to be too wet though so I can get some photos of fireworks in action.

Yeah, tomorrow I need to go order a Boston Butt for my top-rate pulled pork. I'm kind of bummed it's on a Friday because I pull an all-nighter to prep it, but there's no Thursday iScribble to keep me awake.
Maybe I can work on my backlog while I'm refilling the water pan on the hour. I'd have sold them all in a big lump but I really don't like throwing in the towel with things. That's probably why the backlog got so big to start with.

I'm refilling the water pan on the hour. That sounds like a smoker...is that what your using to cook with? We use one all the time, tasty stuff to be made by smoking. I didn't think much on what were going to be eating actually. Some hotdogs and s'mores are definitely on the list though, as we already have those.

It's a converted grill, actually. I wish I had a real smoker. Maybe something more automated so I don't have to pull an all-nighter.

Sorry about my being incredibly inactive. I've been busy with real life stuff, primarily trying to figure out dating. Real fun over here! Actually, I do lurk around here quite a bit, I just don't really have much to say. Maybe internet forums just aren't my thing. Anywaaaaaays... I'm going to Colorado for this thing called Lead the Cause University! I'm bad at describing what it is, so here's part of the website's description of it: "Lead THE Cause University is a week-long leadership training experience designed for youth leaders and teenagers who are serious about advancing Christ’s kingdom." I'm going with the girl that I like and have every intention of dating, along with my sister and her boyfriend as adult chaperones. I am sufficiently hyped

Good luck, and have fun...you do mean your sister's boyfriend, not your crush's boyfriend, right? Man, I am so glad someone posted before Canada Day ended. Happy Canada Day, y'all!

Things at work have not gotten better- folks have been getting into accidents, so I'm left to pick up the slack... really grates, it does.. Other than that, been trying to get a little active around here, but it goes unnoticed...
