I used to like Youtube. Still like a few guys' channels on there, admittedly, but the website's been stupid since the change to HTML5 players. Now this G+ integration? That's backwards thinking. Absolutely ridiculous. Makes me wish Youtube would get rid of comments altogether; they don't help anything anymore. Comments are literally worthless now that you can't ACTUALLY track a conversation anymore. Clicking on a "link to a previous" comment that has been replied to... that is, trying to see WHY someone made the reply they made, to see what the original post was... Now just opens a new tab to the video. (it doesn't even scroll to the comment or unhide it or anything. I'm dead serious. It is now a completely useless link) Also the video promptly starts playing regardless of the fact that it already is in another tab. You know... I'd be ok with an anti-social network.... a bunch of anonymous people with no ties to anything else downvoting things (without possibility for upvoting, negativity or nothing). I'd be ok with a site that focuses on a dislike button instead of a like button. Then I'd be able to express my opinion more. Also have nothing hidden from anyone and all posts get equal visibility. None of this crap about specifically putting advertisements at the top and hiding anything with the word gun in it. I'm tired of people dictating what I'm allowed to be interested in. I am a grown-ass man. I should be able to decide that for myself now. EDIT: Sorry for the rant... I've been witness to a lot of unsettling developments the last few days.

I've always been amused by the sort of things Facebook and Amazon and Proboards and all those sites think I like. They were pretty solid with trophies and popcorn, but Amazon doesn't get that I'm looking at video games because I'm checking their prices to sell them, not because I'm interested in buying any.
I could see it being much easier now to miss out on new potential interests because of ad profiling, though.

Well, they definitely want you to buy from them, so I understand why they're trying to get you to click on other things while you're visiting. Every site is trying to sell themselves to you. I take it you have absolutely no interest in any of the consoles this gen then? Is there anything from this current gen (Wii U, PS4, XB1, 3DS, Vita) that looks like it's worth it to you? I know I'm stoked by the 3DS, and the Wii U's looking okay thanks to Nintendo, but I'm so apathetic to the rest right now.
Back to an earlier point of conversation, I just don't get the Google+ integration. It's splintering a site somewhat, and it wasn't even implemented properly judging by some comments that I've been linked to. Google really does like using their users as beta testers. Not a good way to run a company, in my opinion.

Nope, nothing. I just plain don't like gaming enough to care.

Well, in other news, I just turned the big 2-3 today, as well as having the first day at my new job. I would have posted this in the bday thread, but that hardly sees any use at this point. Back to an earlier point of conversation, I just don't get the Google+ integration. I don't think they're a bad company per say, but they need to stay away from YouTube.

Oh, right! Happy birthday, Buster! Man, the v5 birthday system REALLY sucks.

Thanks! Yeah, the v5 birthday system may as well be nonexistent now. We all know that no one's going to click that "today's birthdays" link.

Nope, nothing. I just plain don't like gaming enough to care. That doesn't surprise me. As it gets more dangerous to take risks, companies seem to go back to the tried and true while having no qualms about letting niche, but diehard franchises fade away. Wish the industry would realize there's more to rolling along than the home run or mobile philosophy that most third-party companies have nowadays. Edit: And a belated Happy Birthday to Buster Cannon!

Sometimes I wish there was an "ignore updates to this thread" option I could click... Not for THIS actual thread... but for others I have no intention of ever reading, yet still am forced to click on to get rid of the 'new' icon beside the category...
Huh? Yes. I have been told I am strange and unpleasant, why do you ask?

You're not forced to click on or read anything you don't want to. This board has a "Mark as read" option in the drop-down menu. It's almost the same. You can also just mass-mark a whole board as read in v5.

The day's come faster than expected: today's graduation day for me- the ceremony starts at 1 pm eastern- I just need to change into my suit and gown and I'm good to go. I just hope it doesn't rain...

I just came back from a Local Archery shop today, and I'll be honest- I'm pretty excited. Had our bows set up, stringed, notched....custom fitted arrows, the works. Theres going to be a Charity Archery Competition for traditional bows next year in January. With some brushing up and extra practice, I think we can take it. Heres our bows and most of our equipment. We'll just need some sleeves for the bows...which we plan on getting next time. Anyone else have some new years goals set up for themselves?

I'm envious. I love archery but I haven't the money to invest in a bow. (or any place to practice or transportation to said place)
And yo have a recurve at that, rather than a compound bow. I love me some recurve.
What length and weight are they?
