Reaver Guy 8.6, very nice drawing indeed. As StrikerShot21 said, he needs a texturer (and i know i'm not involved with their project) but if you need proper training, we do provide a Photoshop lesson over MSN Messenger. I can deal with Yahoo since you're using it, msn's a better recommendation since i can have the user enable Remote Assistance (easier for teaching tools when u can see the person doing it. beats from reading from the book or looking at screenshots all the time. It's how i train those on 3D Studio Max and Maya.) <hr> And StrikerShot21! Nice to know ya (even tho I'm a bit late). Hm, can you fill us in more about what kind of texture file formats you want or just plain image files, and what 3d rendering software are you using for modeling? (need to know since there are different texture mappings in different 3d rendering softwares). Reason why I'm asking, I'm not sure if something different's goin on and i'm not up to downloading that file again... Easier by this, lol. EDIT: Hmm... I've been bored, so I kinda tried redoing the Reaver Guy 8.6's sketch... It's not complete but here it is so far: v0.1 - www.ultimagaiden.com/Downloads/PhotoshopStuff/4dnsop2%20copy.pngv0.3 - www.ultimagaiden.com/Downloads/PhotoshopStuff/4dnsop2%20copy%200.3.pngv0.4 - www.ultimagaiden.com/Downloads/PhotoshopStuff/4dnsop2%20copy%200.4.pngv0.5 (Adobe Photoshop) - www.ultimagaiden.com/Downloads/PhotoshopStuff/4dnsop2%200.5.psd(shown below - v0.5) {Thumbnailed by EC - Try to avoid posting overly-large images...thumbnailing is the prefered method}More will be done later. I will replace this image >.>

I'm not too sure about texture formats, since that pretty much relies on the engine itself (I can use any if I have to).
I used 3DS Max 7, but that isn't necessary information for textures since the modeler himself generates the mapping coordinates, not the program he uses. That explains why not too many people know/want to apply textures.
The image looks excellent (especially the last one), but keep in mind that we need everything to be revealed, that includes the back side of him, and the insides such as armpit, in between fingers, etc...
I myself didn't model, nor plan to model Megaman. I'm doing the reaverbots at the moment. What I think I will do is generate the mapping coordinates for them so you have a template to work on.

I'm a Digital Animator myself (that includes modeling, along with other things), and I'm experienced with Maya and 3D Studio fairly since version 6 for both of them. I still use 3D Studio Max but I prefer using Maya overall. Some exporters that are downloadable (and some made thanks to the 3dsm's easy scripting capability - i still use Crimson Editor for scripting anything) can export along with textures, which exludes the needs of having a seperate file as the texture(s). Hm... another question - Ever heard of ZBrush? It's something worth trying out. I've just started self-teaching the basics of ZBrush by playing around with it and reading a few different sources online. It should be very helpful with importing ur models and making textures fairly well with ZBrush. Unlike importing images and textures into max, you can work on the textures directly on a model. However, that's another $600 to spend. It'd actually be easier if you were to send the model itself and us doing the textures from there.

I'd be more than happy to have someone else do the textures. Too bad you're not a part of our team

I can join as far as designs go if you want. I'm not really good with co mputerdrawings, but I can do sketches. Sure, I can do the sides ad such. Shall I apply any alterations to clothing or draw them in numerous outfits?
Being I have a new computer now, I'm not sure if I have photoshop or anything like it. I still need to explore it a bit.

I don't know where you guys are getting the ideas that Trigger looked any different way back when he was with the Master. Anyone give any thought that he probably just looks the same? ._.
In other news, JMC. Hurry up and get your a-s-s online, I've a couple tracks for you to do backflips over. Yeah, you'll like 'em that much. xP

Nice remake Paul, but I dislike the use of the Dodge and Burn tools.

I believe our model format is a modification of the blender format. So it probably uses something similar to blender at this point.
Right now we are in a pretty good position actually, if we can get a texture artist asap, we could definitely get a much better version of the demo soon.
Sorry about ignoring multiple people for the time being, I'll respond in by tomorrow.
A bit more information. For people experiencing crashing problems, we are currently researching ways to fix it. It is on the user end, and relates to Open GL crashing. It is recommended you update your video card drivers, and please report this problem. We have at least 3 known cases. Other wise, MMLEx is up and kicking again for the time being.

I'd be more than happy to have someone else do the textures. Too bad you're not a part of our team Meh... I already got a project of my own to focus on (The UltimaGaiden Project - mainly focusing on Megaman and X for the PC and PS3) while at the same time providing support to 2 other groups, one making an emulator and the other who's making his own game - which doesnt seem like it's going to be 3D cuz their group is an idiot (i had to say it, they've been aggrevating me lately). Anyhow, I'd provide any support I can since there are a few friends I have with a lot of free time on their hands. Normally it takes me about 2 or 3 days to make a 3D model of anything - since I would spend about 15-24 hours a day working on one specific model. As for texturing, it depends on what I have to work with. For example, if it's a 3D animation video, I want to use ZBrush so I can make the textures look as real as possible, while at the same time, ZBrush seems to make it a lot easier to smooth out models than it is on Maya, I hate using that "Smooth Edge" tool and craps... they don't always work the way I want it to even when I modify the options. But for games, I can still use ZBrush but it's easier through Adobe Photoshop. When making a texture in Adobe Photoshop, that normally takes me 2 days worth of work while ZBrush takes me only a few hours. However, there are plenty of things I need to learn about with ZBrush. I also have friends that I'm currently training with doing some Maya modeling and texturing, as well as trying to work with some basic Mental Rays and fake lighting effects. Currently, I'm making songs for a friend's project while trying to do something graphically artistic for each break I have. If there is anything I can provide for this project, PMing me would be great since I immediately get an email and I normally instantly respond (I'm on the computer between 16-24 hours a day... I'll get it soon). Anyways, gimme some updates whenever you like.
Thanks everybody for the compliments =D Cept Musashi, his comments don't count...

Right now, we are happy with our current composer, but thanks for the offer. One thing is that you are already making music for other projects, which probably is taking a lot of time in itself, and MMLEx would just be another burden for you.
Umm, Reaverguy 8.6, Concept art is different than that. It requires 3 views of the character, front, side and back views. And they have to be very exact and detailed. Not sure how good you'd be at concept art, due to the having to have 3 percise drawings of the same thing.
Thats about it for now, work in resuming on all sections of MMLEx right now. We are trying to get it right for the next demo. The next demo will try to fix some of the crashing problems. The appear to deal with OpenGL and Graphics Drivers.

making music or sound aint hard unless you dont know what you want to do.
Personally, since I do make a lot of songs and different sound effects and voices (even digital voices), I just play with 2 softwares: Fruity Loops and Reason, quite a bit on my free time and build up my own library of sources. If it werent for this, it'd be more work to make songs and sounds by starting everything from scratch. I dont know how to write music but I do make personal notes of em in which I can understand - allowing me to write music in my own way. Anyhow, a song can take me anywhere from 30 minutes to a few days to make. Not that difficult, and I like keeping myself busy. I'm making music for my friend's and my own project, while at the same time - trying to make music for websites I make for people.
And for reaverguy, I already informed him about the concept artworks. I'm just going to have a small issue trying to teach him with iMac but I'll teach him the different perspective views for concept figure sketches on regular paper by teaching some techniques, then importing them onto the computer and doing some digital imaging/painting.

If we ever need more help for music, I'll make sure your the first person I ask. But right now, I'm happy with the composer we have, and unless he gets over whelmed or quits, I doubt we'll need another composer. Definitely thanks for helping reaverguy how to learn to draw concept art though, that will probably be a lot of help.

I downloaded the file for this, but theres no readme, do I just unzip it all to a folder and install the exe? I would like to see how its going.
I think if I were going to make a Megaman game, it'd be a cross between Legends and Megaman X, basically X in 3d. Free roam for the most part, like Legends, the bosses would be behind closed doors, and there would still be the ruins. Not to mention those capsules that upgrade your armor. I keep thinking about it, it would be awesome, too bad I know nothing about how to make it.
And those mech robots you jumped in from time to time, those would return, but would play a bigger role, those things were awesome, but you only used them 30 seconds at a time

You see, thats why MMLEx exists. There are plenty of people willing to make a MMX game, but very few to make a Legends fan game.
X = 2D extreme sidescroller
Legends = Free Roaming (sort of, still on rails though) Story based adventure
X would not work in 3D. The original series may... but thats a stretch too. I could not imagine a translation of the way the X series plays in 3D environments, without the 2D sidescrolling ways.
How do you translate that to 3D? You can't, thats why they made Legends and not another MMX game.
BTW, my readme is in the bottom part of my first post.
