I see what your saying, everyone. Right now, we can't just tell someone to stop if they aren't working enough or anything. We don't have enough people to do that. Everyone who works on the game can't be replaced because there is no one to replace them.
I'm not going to do a 2D game, because MML isn't 2D. I don't think I can accurately represent MML in 2D. Anyone that could would still miss key parts of the game's atmosphere. So 3D it is.
And for anyone thinking the project will end, it won't. I'm too stubborn to ever say the project is over. Even if no work is being done on it, I don't give up that easily. Though its not looking bright right now.
BTW, the graphics will easily surpass the PSX graphics, you just haven't seen the engines capabilities from the puny demo.

It was fun but the only thing that bugs me is that when I jump and fire it lags but I didn't had any problems with it PS: The wall has copyrights. what an interesting ruins. and this is a placeholder texture.

Well... actually I'm hoping that the engine is capable of having you surpass the PSX Graphic Quality... And I've noticed that the demo was rather a bit (too) small to begin with. I'm thinking that you guys already have more done than this to begin with, because it would make sense.
However, I was just surprised that you guys actually met up to challenge the original graphics, which is nice actually.
Curious though, ever considering to moving your game's graphic engine to Direct X?

What kind of computers do you people have? Windows -95? I'm always hearing people complain about lag, and stuff freezing up, and their chair being set on fire. jeez louise, I never have these problems and I've had my computer for nearly 14 years, LITERALLY!

I don't know the exact system specs, but the test PCs were both Pentium 4s with Geforce 6800s. I know the testers had lower end computers, but I didn't ask much about lag since there weren't many effects being used.
And why would we move it to Direct X? I know Direct X would probably look better, but that would require redoing some of the effects I would assume. I'm not coding it, but Direct X is different than Open GL.
The graphics, though the main draw, aren't really having any problems, so why would we even consider moving it to Direct X.

Angry? No idea what you mean. I was responding to an earlier post about switching to Direct X mostly.
Truthfully, I have no ideao n minimum specs, and people who do have slow downs definitely have an issue with the engine or a very old computer.

Hi I'm new to the forums, and before I downloaded this, I wanted to know if this was a mod or a completely new game created by you guys?
I wish I could help but I have limited knowledge of anything to do with computers really, I did take a semester of C++ here at college but I barely squeaked by in the long run.
I would like to know how to program games, I think that'd be pretty cool, but the most I could help you guys with right now is probably a storyline, maybe write a few guitar riffs, though I'm still a beginner on that, been playing for a year and some change, but I can play Stairway to Heaven (with the solo), with a few screw ups, and a few other medium level songs. I'm not in a band or anything though. Just a suggestion.

Quote by me, on Page 2 of this thread: "[MMLEx] s...to my knowledge the only [MegaMan fangame] completely independant, that doesn't rely on another game's engine as a crutch." That should answer your question about it being a mod or not. Anyways, I know I've been avoiding thinking about MMLEx over the past little while. Talk to JMC...not only is he the only one left on the project still "working" on it, but he'll accept anyone to the team, regardless of how good or bad you are at everything/anything. *shrugs* Perhaps I'll be more enthusiastic when I get that development tool I've been begging for for months now.

I shall have to download it.
I was thinking, probably something everyone here already has thought of, but if they do another series after the X series, they should make it 3D, like Legends, only more like the original and X series as in types of bosses and stages (but all connected in free roam). Though I don't know much about Megaman games, the only two I've owned are X and Legends, but I'm getting X collection whenever it arrives via mail, and I've been considering the first collection as well now for a while, the reviews I've read seem to all say the first ones better
Anyway, before I got lost in that rant, I meant to say I'd like to learn some more C++ so I could contribute to this game. As already stated, I only know the basics.

Well...
This demo kind of blew over quite quickly.
Chiz avoiding MMLEx... great. Just what I needed. HAHAHAHA*continues laughing psychotically*
Not only am I NOT the only working on the project still, I'm planning to update this demo with Dash's music, real reaverbot models, and a few more improvements if I can do them. We do have another modelor working on Reaverbots now,and I'm pretty sure Dash has some awesome music from before this release we could stick in.
Not only am I especially insane for continuing this project, I'm beating a dead horse also. But, if it takes insanity, and trying to do the impossible and never giving up to do what I want, then count me in.
BTW Chiz, I doubt its going to happen anytime soon. But if you want to quit MMLEx for a while, or forever, just come out and say it okay? Don't just avoid it. Right now I am quite angry for a reason unknown to myself.
I apoligize for my very very very very insane post, if you had no clue what I was talking about, please read below
Demo updated with models and Dash's music. New Modelor, work continuing bla bla.
And, NMN returns to the project. After a long vacation, he is once again back.

Well, it's good to see you're determined. Even though it looks like it'll never happen anytime soon, I'm still game for the voiceover work when you need it.

JMC, I don't want to quit MMLEx. You know that. What I meant is I'm sick of thinking about where MMLEx is going...what troubles it's in, what difficulties we are facing/will face. Everytime the subject comes up, there's the looming question "Have the last 2 years been in complete vain?". I just want to work on it. I haven't been able to do that for a while, and thus all I've had opportunity to do is think about MMLEx. Perhaps once I'm given a means to continue working on the project, I won't have the time to think about the hell and high waters we've gone through to get to this point, or about the hell and high waters we're bound to go through again.

Well, if you are in current need of any designers, being I have to draw for homework, Is suppose I could take a shot at anything you want. Here is just an example of my better art skills. Its no my best drawing of al, but its my best of trigger. {Thumbnailed by EC}So am I needed? I wouldn't want to see it die.

Nice work.... can you do that on a computer as well? We are in need of a texture artist at the moment. Even supplying us with hand drawn stuff so we can trace would be better than nothing.
I'm the new 3D modeler, by the way.
