How's about this for shenanigans: all external links on this forum are now being rewritten by Proboards to be a redirect through their advertising/monetization/analytics partner/contractor, VigLink. No opt out that I've found yet, either. Example: www.rockmandash-legends.com occasionally becomes http://redirect.viglink.com/?key=bbb516d91daee20498798694a42dd559%20&u=http%3A//www.rockmandash-legends.com/ EDIT: I believe this is the relevant JS inline with the page: <script type="text/javascript"> var vglnk; $(document).ready(function() { $('a').each(function() { if ($(this).prop('href').indexOf('login.proboards.com') !== -1) { $(this).addClass('norewrite'); } });
vglnk = { api_url: '//api.viglink.com/api', key: 'bbb516d91daee20498798694a42dd559' }; var vglnkSrc = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? vglnk.api_url : '//cdn.viglink.com/api') + '/vglnk.js';
// VigLink ProBoards Convert Code (using above key) var s = document.createElement('script'); s.type = 'text/javascript'; s.async = true; s.src = vglnkSrc; document.body.appendChild(s);
var retry = 0; var reV = function() { if (typeof vglnk !== 'function' && retry++ < 5) { setTimeout(reV, 500); } else if (typeof vglnk !== 'function') { $('a').not('.norewrite').each(function() { var url = $(this).prop('href'); if (url.indexOf('http') === 0 && url.indexOf(document.domain) === -1) { $(this).prop('href', 'http://redirect.viglink.com?key=bbb516d91daee20498798694a42dd559 &u=' + escape(url)); } }); } }; reV(); }); </script>

Happ buttons/joysticks have really fallen out of favor over the years Yeah, I know, but I meant "Happ-style" in the loosest sense, of a 3 piece plastic button + spring that hits a standard microswitch ( H| S) as opposed to a normal controller that has the microswitches/contacts built into a PCB ( DS3) preventing simple part replacements. You would think large arcade-like controllers would use proper arcade equipment, but some companies know no bounds when it comes to cheap peripherals. It looks like MadCatz have salvaged their brand in that regard.

You know, I'm not a fan of putting console artwork on arcade paraphernalia - that is what arcade artwork is for - but aside from that, the end result looks very good.
If I were building a themed joypad like this, I'm not sure if I would be satisfied with the white buttons and joystick topper, or if I would try to get ahold of translucent buttons that could have small labels inserted into them. The only thing that would stop me is that those buttons also often have an LED in them powered by a 12V rail, which you will not get over USB (only has 5V). Still, assuming these are generic Happ-style buttons, new buttons are like $0.75 a piece if you reuse the old microswitches.
Which model of joypad is that, btw? I see the Playstation button in the corner, which implies to me it's at least an unofficial PS4 controller...is that how it exposes itself to the PC, or is it more of a generic controller that just happens to work on the PS4?

I just had the realization that I joined MMLS when I was sixteen, right? I'm now twenty-one years old! I just had the realization that I also joined MMLS when I was sixteen. I'm now twenty seven. *drinking to forget*

It would need to be equipped to the Gustaff. I forget the actual procedure in doing so, but it's probably something to the effect of going to the hangar where the Gustaff is stowed, and talking to the servbots and/or go through the menus to have its main weapon (the search cannon) replaced with the bazooka. Once it's equipped, then head back to the ruins and fire the weapon as normal.

You're probably referring to the Nakkai Ruins mission, which is covered in MMLS' go-to walkthrough by Estil. (Search "14. Mission 4: Nakkai Ruins") Basically, you first need to recover a [PIPE], which can be made into a Bazooka weapon. Then you'll use that weapon to access the rest of the ruins by blasting through certain cracked walls. Once you've done this, you'll definitely be able to "complete" the goal of the mission, after a little navigation and a lot of preparedness.

Caps from last night. The discussion focused on, amongst other things, "cosmetic surgery for African megafauna", "UFO catchers as a household staple", and "ongoing struggles of a stickperson of colour". Bonus appearance by Rockman Striker, who unfortunately had to leave half-way through the short discussion on the utility of base-30 counting systems.

Caps from tonight. Room is now closed. Tonight's discussion focused on, amongst other things, "the integral part maid outfits play in a Minecraft experience", "word games: domain of the rich and powerful, or accessible to the masses?", and "paternity testing as a gladiator sport". Full disclosure, tonight's session was funded in part by the letters 'V' and 'X'.
EDIT 2016-04-15: The restaurant is now open and something approximating food is being served.paging satoh, HF, Mikéy, Santa Melty, etc.

2015? It died in 2006, of course...and then again in 2011 when MML3 was cancelled... Of course, it got back up between its hammy, overacted deaths each time, but still, this is not the first time the forum has been given its final rites. Really, it just means that we've overdue for the next wave of members to come in and fill the ranks. Perhaps we could do a bit more in terms of forum/community activities. The Dragon Romper and Escape/Nonary Game streams Kyle put on are probably a good template for what we ought to be looking to do. Maybe a community Minecraft server or something.

Mikéy, there was a time when all the kids in the neighbourhood were quickly losing interest in Pokemon cards, and I bought whole decks for pennies on the dollar because they wanted to move on to the next thing (which I believe was Yu-Gi-Oh at the time). Coupled with a few garage sale hits, and I'm pretty sure I've got a number of shoeboxes yet to find. Sure, I might've spent a hundred or so dollars on a good couple kilograms of cards, but they filled in a lot of holes in my collection.

I'm usually the last person in the world to encourage Pokemon discussion, but while cleaning house today I came across a few shoeboxes full of old Pokemon cards from when I collected them some 15 years ago. Always having been the sort of person who liked the collecting aspect - and had absolutely no real concern for the game aspect - I decided to sort and document the boxes with the first functional card collection database website I could find. The results are here. Unfortunately they: - only recognized the proper game cards, and not all of the non-game collectible cards thrown into the mix, like everything produced by Topps.
- can't add Japanese cards, like my Japanese holo Golduck.
- can't distinguish Misprint cards, like my rotated-energy-symbol base set Diglett.
- had no concern for first edition vs. unlimited runs.
- does a very poor job at handling reverse-foil cards that became a thing with the Legendary Collection.
- give wildly optimistic valuations that I absolutely refuse to accept as fact. Avg $496.55 USD? Hah!
- don't use set numbering except when hacked in out of necessity.
All in all, though, I think I'm going to try to hunt down my other binders and boxes of cards and see if I can't add to this list, if only for the hilarity of that total valuation. Of course, if there's a better site for this (especially if they also recognize collectible cards), I'd be happy to switch over. EDIT: Found my main collecting binder from way back when. Slowly adding those now. EDIT 2: Finished adding binder. New supposed average market price of $1179.15 USD. There's no chance in hell these things are worth that much. Still, I'll update the list if I come across another cache. EDIT 3: Found another handful of cards, including two unopened 11-card boosters (!) which will remain sealed. EDIT 4: Finished adding handful. New supposed average market price of $1190.01 USD. I'm definitely holding out for that extra penny, too.
