Legends 3 cannot and WILL not die... not ever, not as long as there remains a legion of loyal fans who will continue to support it's development no matter how many set-backs, delays, or even cancellations come to try and tear us down. Yes, Capcom cancelling the project would be a huge disappointment and a major setback, but that doesn't mean it will be the ultimate demise of Our Game. So I say that we don't panic and just keep moving forward as if this whole thing never even happened!
Still... a mass bombardment of Gregaman's and every other Capcom related mailbox seems like it wouldn't hurt.

You know what, I want Capcom to level with us about all this. They wanted our participation in this little 'experiment' and I think we deserve some information in return.

@ SpaceCaptanFace: Yes, but it's either indefinite release in developer hell or a half-assed game due to overwhelming demand and expectations from the producers and the fans.
On the other hand, their real experiment may have been something entirely different. While Capcom has a reputation of being more laid back, something tells me that there is something big going on by using a classic game as a developer's front. But the same goes with everything I have ever seen anyway, so the point I raised is moot in hindsight.
@ Avegodro: As a little guessing game, I think they're trying to either turn the situation around or to put it as lightly as possible.
But either way, I believe such a superficial change is overthinking the situation.

I'm not entirely sure this has to do with Legends 3, but the work day's just begun in Japan, and Shiozawa and Kinako have presumably both just arrived at the office--Kinako posted the following in the news feed.
"Igawa flour : Haitsu, It is Friday! Whether the finished doing your job properly ... The Battle of the fateful minutes a week today!"
The original Japanese, for HF or anyone else who might be able to offer a translation less butchered than Google's: "猪川きなこ: はいっ、金曜日ですね!今週分のお仕事がきちんとやり終えられるかどうか…今日が天下分け目の大決戦です!"
What the heck does the battle of the fateful minutes a week today mean? Is this in reference to some kind of board meeting minutes? Like a fateful meeting scheduled in a week? I'm probably overthinking it. >_< I bet it's like Bright Butts.

@ Dashe: I am unable to fully read the pasted text, but it just sounds like her giving a little boost in morale to finish up for the weekends.

Legends 3 will be fine. This probably happened because the game hasn't got the "go" or it could simply be the timeframe in which the game may be released in is unclear. I think it's nothing at all personally.

What? Where? I think I'm going to do what Training Ham is doing and pretend this hasn't happened. Come on, we just had the Mascot event, surely they wouldn't have done this for a good-as-canned game.

This is saddening to me in the respect that it really confirms to me what had been lingering when the prototype was first delayed. MML3 is a very long way from release (not so much in retrospect given how long it's been since MML2, but)... I seriously don't expect the prototype until the fall or winter, and MML3 until 2013 at best.
@.@ I was so hyped to maybe play it soon, but oh well.

Did anyone else read Protodude's latest blog post about the removal? Personally I think it makes a lot of sense; Protodude takes a very logical reasoning toward the probable cause of the removal and what he comes up with suggests that this situation isn't really the harbinger of doom some are making it out to be. That last part he mentions is what I think is really the worst part of the fuss, and what might in the end be more harmful to RMD3 than any internal problems should it rise to an unhealthy level (and that seems more likely the more I read around the 'net... : ( ) .

I like the way Protodude thinks. Sometimes, it just takes a colorful blog post for people to speculate over to calm down and not call it quits for something that doesn't and shouldn't really matter. I won't withdraw the fact that everything he says is just a bunch of assumption though, it's just my outlook on things from the start. edit: wow... I totally just realized I screwed up that first post I made anyway. I'm going(?) to let a simple disappearance off the front page of a Japanese website worry me much. No use fixing that now. >____<

I had also read Protodude's blog spot; and I also liked his reasoning: Why promote for a game that's not yet finalized yet? Plus, Universe had many problems from the very beginning.
What he said about people running around like Chicken Lickens could cause more harm than good is something to consider as well. Plus, Devroom didn't mention anything yet.
So, let's keep a cool head and hope for the best.

I had some thoughts about Protodude's article there, but the last and third-to-last full paragraph of this blog post from Heatman pretty much sums it up. (I think it may be meant to address the article anyway, however indirectly.) And the rest of it is a good read, although it does get a bit lengthy.

Huh, I had no idea Heat had a Livejournal. I swear, though, this whole development process becomes more and more novelworthy the longer it goes on. I'd also become a bit suspicious that Inafune's Capcom policy leaks might've incited some unwarranted vendetta against this project on the part of the execs...but I did mention that earlier in the thread, too. And if Heat and I are independently concocting roughly the same theories about what's going on behind the scenes, it probably isn't a very good sign. If any more drama comes of this whole situation, I am going to change the involved parties' names, turn this into a musical, and attempt to sell out on Broadway. I'm not convinced that Capcom's response--or lack thereof--to the situation proves or disproves much of anything aside from the fact that CoA isn't privy to CoJ's webpage decisions, and that Greg takes weekends off like most of the country's workforce does. EDIT: Actually, it does somewhat put me under the impression that CoA and CoJ don't really communicate much outside of what CoJ wants them to know, and that the only person who'd have some access to their reasoning is Greg. Best case scenario's that on Friday, he asked the devs what was going on, only his Friday was their Saturday, and they won't be in to reply until Monday, which will be Sunday for Greg, which means that Greg wouldn't get an answer back until their Tuesday at the earliest. I think. And if the Devs don't know and have to pump answers out of some other department, that would probably also take a while.

Reading the page that Protodude had linked to us, I found it interesting when Sven said, "Sorry guys but I don't have visibility into Japan's web site decisions. Beyond that I've got no news to share. ". Then again, Greg seems to be the only one that CoJ talks to. So, maybe we'll get news on what's happening next week.
Reading Heatman's journal entry, I must admit that I agree with him that Legends 3 is having rough times. I must also agree about what he mentioned about Inafune, CAPCOM and the Devroom does ring true.
I remembered reading an article once when Inafune revealed CAPCOM's development secrets. I wouldn't be surprised if that really irritated CAPCOM. At the places where I had once worked at, one of the policies were that you were never to mention company's secrets at all to anyone outside of the company; especially if it's their rival company. I don't want to bring fear to anyone, but maybe CoJ has a grudge against Legends 3 because of Inafune? Also, he had bragged about the fact that he pitched Dead Rising after CAPCOM had turned it down. I wouldn't be surprised if they were annoyed that he went over their heads as well.
What does this mean for Legends 3? Well, let's wait and see.
