I honestly can't imagine the NA/EUR/Non-Japan e-shops opening any sooner than the Japanese ones. It just defies the laws of game development physics. EDIT: We actually ARE getting it early...due to time zone differences! Evening on June 6, 2011. Check it!

There's no doubt about it: they'll be marketing the 3DS shop full-throttle at E3, and there's a great possibility of 3DS interfacing with their new home console. We'll see!

Nintendo has confirmed that the eShop will launch on June 6th and not sometime in May.
I do not want to hear annoying, obligatory complaints. If anything, the 'delay' is probably for the best.
Edit: I got ninja'd because I didn't read. <_< Fine, I'll explain my reasons instead.
For one, one thing that pops into my head is that this could mean that this will give more people time to get a 3DS, which is good if the greenlighting process is going by the number of sales. More people with a 3DS means the possibility of more people downloading this. Yes it isn't that long, but it's still SOME more time. And besides, a rushed eShop could just mean nasty glitches that we don't need.

Awww. While I'm slightly disappointed about it being available in June and not May, I'm glad we have a solid date. It makes planning my life around a video game much easier.
And I WILL be marking this date on my Pokemon calendar!

Forget marking it on a calendar, I'm going to break out the scissors, glue, tape, and scrapbook paper and make a countdown calendar like for Christmas.

Protodude Corner's says that this was only confirmed for Japan.

Yeah, but Nintendo's official site says otherwise. And Blogger's been down for a while, so I don't think he can edit his post.

Welll if you wanna go so far as to have a countdown, I daresay I've already done it. 25 days, 11 hours, 44 minutes, and 25 seconds until June 6th, 8:00PM CST. As far as the date goes, I'm not really complaining. It'll be more time to actually get a 3DS. I find it to be shameful that it's on a Monday, but at the same time, being out of school means I'll have a little extra time between scrambling to move (yes I'm moving.) to play that prototype. edit: *glances upward* Oh look, a day countdown. Good thing I have the hours and minutes. editedit: holy crap, look what I found! eShop Launch Countdowngranted, it's not a countdown like what Timeleft has, but it's still accurate. Look at those seconds literally fly by.

Oh yeah, now we have a definite date for launch, and it's in the middle of a lack of 3ds ware (great time for the prototype to be released). After some nosing around I finally found a proboards compatible counter, though it is rather crude.

Like Miyamoto/God always says "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever." I'm sure that applies to video game services too.

June 6 th, eh? That's honestly not bad at all, considering all we had before was a vague unofficial 'late May' date. At any rate, now that the date's out, people who have yet to get a 3DS now have a 'deadline' (of some sort) to get theirs by. Alternately, those who are relying on friends/family to get a copy (copies?) of MML3PV for them also know when to get them those nice little cards that have started to show up. Interesting to note that the eShop opening comes out just before E3 starts this year; the same event for which Capcom sent posters advertising the Prototype Version to press members attending the event...

Hey! Those cards look pretty familiar. (seriously, do not play this game, the addiction factor is far too high, and the economy is too messed up.)At any rate, I'm loving how fast they're getting the party together; This is going to be fun.

Yeah, but Nintendo's official site says otherwise. And Blogger's been down for a while, so I don't think he can edit his post. Blogger isn't really down. Even then, TMMN updated to say that June 7th is in store for Japan, Europe and Australia. There's still no mention of North America. Unlike everyone else here, I'm not going to be getting my hopes too high and overly-hyping.

Blogger isn't really down. You're right. It's not down. Protodude's updated his post in fact. Actually, [url= that article is about the North American release. The mention of Japan, Europe and Australia was tacked on to the bottom of the article describing the North American release date. I hardly see why not, seeing as we have this information coming straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. Unless.... do you mean you don't expect the Prototype to be available in the North American e-Shop, right off the bat? Because I've been a bit concerned about that myself. I can see Japan making that date, but we might have to worry about the time it takes to localize the demo, I suppose. I imagine there might be a delay there. As best as I can tell, any mention of the Prototype coming at the same time as the 3DS e-Shop has been directly translated from Japan — they may've casually forgot to mention that it might take time to have the English release ready. And I suppose it's also possible this date Nintendo's pushing may end up being false. Just like they said the launch would be in May and that fell through. I'd bet a lot of zenny that they make the June 6th/7th date, though, because it coincides with their plans to steal the show at yet another E3. Just sayin’. I'm stoked anyway, even if it doesn't happen on June 6th. Now I have a specific date to count down to, and a time limit for finishing up as many more MegaMan games as I can.
