Who here thinks that Mega Man Legends 3 might be announced at this years Tokyo Game Show 2009? I ask this because of how almost all mega man games are first released in Japan. Not to mention that it has almost been ten years since they released MML2. Also Japan had that Rockman Dash five island adventure game come out on their cellphones in 2008 or 2009 I can't remember.

I doubt very highly that Capcom will EVER release Megaman Legends 3 on a major console platform. As Inufune has stated multiple times, he cannot get the go-ahead for such a project because it would most likely not reap enough profits.
As it stands, the most we'd ever get is cell phone games such as Five Island Adventure (already released, btw) and maybe a DS title. But considering what we want is a fully 3D title for Ps3/Wii/or Xbox 360, those dreams will probably never be fulfilled.

I really doubt that something that awesome would happen, for if it did the building would explode from the sheer awesomeness along with all of our dreams of it ever being released de to the immense casualties, however...if I ever did happen to spot a video of actual game footage I would be forced to invite everyone who was in the same room at that moment out to dinner, and a party, and an after party. ...But honestly, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Not to get any false hopes up, but I remember quite clearly a quote by a Capcom official that another secret Capcom game will be released this year, I am not sure how much long of a queue they have, but it's supposed to be a secret game.

Hmm...Probably just another Resident Evil. They can't seem to make enough of those, it seems. Remember in Legends 2 when you buy buy the game cartridge? Resident Evil 43? Maybe there's a connection.

That we'll get Megaman Legends 3 whenever Resident Evil 43 comes out?

I'm pretty sure the total number of RE/Biohazard releases far exceeds 43, and we're sitting here just wishing for a 3rd MML game. I wonder how much extra work would Capcom need to make MML3 now that its engine is available to use (Lost Planet 2) ?

Yay! I'm glad someone else made this thread. I usually feel like an idiot making all of these threads that say, "E3 is coming up. There's a rumor that Capcom is making a video game... You Think It's Legends?". Not that I'm calling the OP an idiot or anything. These threads just never pan out, but the second we stop making them Legends 3 will be announced and we'll never receive our internet glory. Well the secret game that Capcom was going to announce at E3 but pushed it back might be an Onimusha game. A teaser site came up that, at first, only said 1560 but now it says 1573. So yep, it's another countdown site for a game announcement . Unless it counts all the way up to 3XXX, or when ever MML takes place, then we can safely assume this specific site is not megaman related. Still, hopes spring eternal. I think a Legends game is always possible.

You know, considering how Square suddenly decided to release a sequel to "Parasite Eve" after nine years of demand from its small fan base, a Legends sequel might not be such a dim hope after all.
...though it might be a PSP title. That MML PSP package was probably a foreshadowing of what's to come.

Traingham: Maybe, a few game series in recent years have not had any new installments for 9 or even 10 years or more: the aforementioned PE, Ghosts n' Goblins, Punch out... it's remote, but there is a possibility of a Legends sequel. But I believe whatever this secret game is, it might be a PsP title. That little machine is surprisingly powerful (yet also cheaper than the current Next gen game systems)seeing as how there's new Tekken and Soul Calibur games planned for it in the near future. Still, it's too early to say what it may be...

@raven: Are these new Tekken and Soul Calibur games PSP exclusives or side-by-side console releases? It makes all the difference in the world. (gameplay-wise; they're generally all received about the same, but side-by-side releases are generally just watered down versions of their console counterparts) I think Capcom would only release something exclusively for PSP if they wanted it to flop. Seems like hardly any of their releases do very well. (I ♥’d MegaMan Powered Up + Maverick Hunter X, but we all know how well those did..)

To my knowledge, these are side-by-side releases. It just seems a bit practical since development kits for the next-gen consoles are more expensive than the handheld market. I'm just saying it's more plausible to see a game on the DS or Psp at present.

I think a Legends game is always possible. To my knowledge, that teaser belongs to that Basara game, www.capcom.co.jp/basara/, currently showing 1573. So sadly it's not Legends 3. One day, I'll be sitting with my kinds under the moon, waiting for a star or an asteroid to show up so we can make a wish. Haha.... damn, how I wish to play Legends 3 before I die..
