The universe is not made of tampons Dashe dear. But yeah, that description's ok. I know, I know, it's just your universe that's made of tampons, Mir@k. Next time I'll be sure to clarify.

OK, second post is updated. Please be sure I’ve noted your request and decision to do the 24-Hour Challenge correctly; don’t want any confusion over that. Everyone not taking the 24-Hour Challenge will get their assignment tomorrow. Hmm... That's a bit troublesome. Your choice won’t be disqualified, no, but we will have to figure something out. I think it depends a lot on what it is you’re doing exactly, so I’ll get in touch with you over PM. If anything, there might be a better way to showcase such a small piece than replacing the large front page image. We may have to talk to Fab about that. It might not be a new medium, but using a method or style you haven’t explored in the past would fit the bill just as well. That’s probably what I’ll end up doing myself... I was thinking about trying some animation, but I won’t have Flash or any other decent animation program available to me for the next week, which might be a bit problematic. But I digress. Basically, something old is all well and good if you’re trying a new approach. It’s all in the same spirit. As to Milkshake: yeah, I haven’t used the mltmlt22 handle around these parts for a while (though most people still seem to know me as Mlt, somehow). All the other names I’ve been using over the years (Emeltee, Melty, Milkshake, etc.) were all derived from that original jumble of letters and numbers by various people. Various people with very active imaginations. They’d look at my username and tell me “I always pronounce your name as 'Melty' in my head” or “Your name reminds me of a milkshake”. And, of course, the only natural course of action after someone tells you something like that is to change your name accordingly. And I digress again. Sorry to hear you’re out, Bret. Yeah, I figured the timing of this would end up being a problem for some people. Alas, there really isn’t any other feasible period in which this could be held. Ah well. Next year, perhaps. Think harder, my dear. But, as you wish. Consider the request taken. It’s not like it’s as blatant as an alternate Megaman crossover or something anyway. o.o Actually, it occurs to me now that Mirak’s and Quert’s requests could have been turned down for similar reasons (tampons and Christmas are a decidedly real-world fixtures), but if we’re accepting the existence of a Chuck E. Cheese ersatz in the Legends-verse, their requests are hardly more of a stretch. Making a note here to be more specific about crossovers if we do this again. Anyway, this is the last day to announce your participation if you want in, so if anyone else is interested, don’t hesitate to speak up, ya hear?

Mlt, if you take an everyday object like a humble tampon as a crossover element then i'm pretty disappointed of your imaginative capacity, i seriously couldn't believe my eyes i mean, "hey guys tampons are not actually present in the game as physical objects so they obviously doesn't exist in a world where females give birth (proven in mml1) and therefore have an ovulation period, which means they menstruate as well", really?
Sometimes i don't get you guys.
Anyway, if the 512×384 pixels entry is an image, you could simply paste it over a right sized canvas in any image handling program. If the object is something like a flash movie, then i don't even think that can be displayed in the front page, given the way you'd need to apply it to the site's code.

512x384? That's an interesting size... I don't see why that couldn't work though. We can stretch it or just put blank space around it, whichever looks better. Yes?
By the way, I'll be going for the 24 hour challenge as well. I took the liberty of updating my status in the second post. I'm still not sure what new medium/technique I'll be going for (depends on which assignment I receive), but that'll make it all the more spontaneous.

Well, for those who wish to partake but are worried that they will be unable to competently handle their chosen medium/style, I’d like to encourage you to do it anyway. Likewise, to all those who wish to partake but simply feel that they altogether suck too hard at art to bother, I’d like to encourage you to do it anyway. ... ... ... Do not fear sucking; embrace it. Cherish it. Become the suck. After much debate on whether I should participate or not, I have decided to do so as that little speech of Mlt's is just so inspiring. Any medium/style I might choose is something I never do, so I look forward to "becoming the suck". I'll be taking the 24 hour challenge, and my request is "Christmas at Lake Jyun".

I'm glad there's so much will to participate and stuff. It's kinda disappointing that my long description could not be added, but i do understand that everyone must follow that short description ru-hey wait what? What's this? Jorsh: You know how people dress up their cats and they think it's great but the cat's miserable? I'd like something like that with the Servbots and Tron.

Hey now. I don’t believe that’s what I said. I don’t doubt that there are many, many reasons for calling my creative capacity into question, but I don’t think this tampon thing is one of them. I was just taking notice that I seemed to handle the no crossovers thing inconsistently. I called Dashe on a real-world crossover, but I didn’t even bat an eye at the Christmas or tampons suggestions, which I probably should have at least considered if the handling of Dashe’s suggestion was to be taken as a precedent. Christmas for obvious reasons, and tampons because, though I don’t doubt some equivalent would exist in-game, I didn’t think it would be in the same form (so for me at least, it would probably come down to an issue of wording or something). But I won’t bore anyone with theories about the design of tampons in the Legends universe. Point is, I see that I may have upheld something of a double standard there. So if I must be accused of anything here, let it at least be that I’m poor at managing events. Aww, thanks. Makes me warm inside to know that at least someone out there read through my entire post. Also, BLYKA SIGHTING! BLYKA SIGHTING TODAY! MARK YOUR CALLANDARS PEOPLE!!! IT’S A SIGN OF SOMETHING THIS TIME, I CAN FEEL IT! NOT LIKE ALL THOSE OTHER TIMES I SAID IT WAS A SIGN. BASELESS LIES, ALL OF THEM. HACK CONSPIRACY THEORIES. THIS TIME IT'S FOR REAL. Oy, you’re making me explain myself a lot. Basically: it’s more important to keep your suggestions open for interpretation than it is to keep them brief. Keeping it short was just a rule of thumb, since you generally get more specific the more words you have. And specific is, in this case, bad. You described a much more explicit scenario. There was a story there and everything. I felt it was too specific. Jorsh’s request was a borderline one, but I still thought it was loose enough to fly, despite the length. Yours felt much closer to a narrative to me, which is why I asked for it to be re-worded. Addendum: And Jorsh was nice enough to change his anyway. So much the better. I’ll edit that into the second post. Working on getting the pairings done before I head off to sleep. EDIT: Hokay, the requests have made with the sending. Everyone signed up for the week-long deadline should have their assignment in their in-box now. If there are any questions, feel free to note me back. Everyone on the 24-hour schedule, PM away when you're ready. Aaaaaaand we're off!
