I am neutral about the time limit controversy.
It's nice to see such a response for this event - I glimpse entertainment on the horizon. ^_^
I will contribute art. I'll use Paint.NET. Still learning with it.
My request...a mid-air physical clash between MegaMan and first-form Juno, with MegaMan sporting the Blade Arm. Juno with his usual ^_^ face, and MegaMan showing enormous effort.
I'll be keeping a close eye on my schedule to get a good free day.
Salutations.

Scratch my last about being busy. I finished reading the first post now and the 24 hr. time limit thing is more clear. I still think 48 would be nice though, but I am no longer apposed to the 24.

I'm fine with the 24 hour thing, myself. Of course, my drawings are not what you would call "detailed".
Also like how we aren't the ones who choose what person we draw our present for; otherwise, I think everyone would end up fighting for the chance to draw Mir@k's awesome idea.

Hey, this post was only slightly longer than last year's, and no one had any problem with that one. o.o Okay, okay, notes to self. No caffeine when writing up official forum posts, and not-tl;dr for the average person is not five pages. Gotcha. Thanks for the summary, Dashe. Anyway, I was expecting people to have some problems with the 1-day thing. First, I just want to clarify something, because I got the sense there was a slight misunderstanding. Just because we don’t give you your assignment until the day you want to work doesn’t mean you can’t begin reading up on (or even doing some trial runs) with your chosen medium beforehand. The 24-hour thing just applied to finishing the actual piece. And we are perfectly all right with making exceptions, especially if you’re doing something more time-consuming (paintings, for example, might have to dry between layers). That said, if you all really feel that the 1-day thing is going to be more of a hindrance than an asset, I’m personally fine with making it altogether optional. It would be easier for me anyway; less timekeeping, you know. It's highly encouraged that you take on something unfamiliar, but we won't disqualify you for sticking with what you know. As I said, it’s not as though we can tell whether you tried something new or not just by looking at your work, so the “try something new” criteria isn’t something we can actively enforce anyway. We just thought it would be nice. Basically, just send us a link to your image and your thumbnail, and we'll do the rest. On the 24th, we’ll compile all the images we’ve been sent and post them up here. Other than that, we just ask that you not post your stuff up anywhere else (be it on this forum or elsewhere) until after we put it up here on the 24th so that it remains a surprise until then. This is why the critiquing thing is optional. Anyone who doesn't want to participate can just opt out. If they do choose to participate, they should be willing to take what comes. We’ll ask that everyone remain respectful of the artists, of course. I understand your concern, but I didn't feel it was enough to merit discouraging/barring all thoughtful critiques. Megaman Roll store midnight. Got it. Seriously though, the requests are getting a bit long this year. Remember people, try to keep it short. Leave it open for the artist to interpret. Mirak, yours is right out. Though since the idea is now out in the open, I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually did it... Will start compiling the list of participants soon. If I missed anything, feel free to slap me until I explain myself.

@mir@k Actually...
It was in the rules last year too. All he did was pull the four most important words from your request to match the above specification. Chill out.
Anyway, count me out because I fail at art I'm good at, so I'm not keen on trying new mediums and wasting someone's request on a crappy crappy piece of artwork. For whatever it's worth the 24-hour time limit makes it seem all the more difficult to me, too.

Uh... I'll step in again, I guess, if I'm allowed. I still feel bad about not getting anything done with last year's, but my exams should all be out of the way beyond the 14th so as long as I set my period between then and my birthday I can hopefully get work done on something... and with the 24 hour limit, maybe that'll push me to it a little bit faster? I'm a bit worried, though, as getting my boots wet in another medium was the main thing that inhibited me in the last one. Ah well, they say it's the thought that counts, eh? And I won't deny the spirit of the idea going on here. What to request is kind of an afterthought to actually agreeing to do it. A Kattelox NPC's Christmas?

All right, I've decided on my request. "Yuna's Green Pigtails" Hopefully it's short/vague enough for various interpretations...
Yo Sonata! Any chance your bro might show up for the occasion? If not, tell him we miss having him around.
Edit: Just to be on the safe side, let's not have any mature interpretations on that request. o.o;

So there. It's not set in stone...but for everyone who finishes and submits their art within 24 hours, I'll override MLT's "There are no prizes" statement and make the time limit worth your while. Or maybe not, but winning things is always fun. TL;DR (and if this is TL;DR to you, you have the attention span of paste) 24-hours optional, but anyone who does it in 24 hours or less gets a prize.

Hey, I've been administrating this site for two years now. I've earned the right to make fun of MLT's verbosity and everyone else's attention spans all in one post.

Oh yeah. This time, I'm not going to be a month late! ... Sorry again about that, Dragge. I've been getting better with deadlines as of late, so, there shouldn't be a problem.
My prompt is... Teisel's new job.
