Well, it's been a month and two days since the (original) deadline passed. I wonder if anyone (that's not me or Jorsh) still remembers this old thing... Edit: Thanks, Dragge!

Yeah I remember this thing. I'm still waiting for Musashi to finish my request. (BTW: don't you mean a month and two days?)

If I recall correctly, Ninja, Blues, and Dragge have yet to receive art from Heat, Aim, and Musashi, in some order or another.

img105.imageshack.us/img105/7559/draggent4.pnghahahaha it's been a month right I'm right on time. Oh by the way, I take no responsibilities on being late because my school is stupid and they have midterms right after Christmas Break instead of before.

That's pretty good Musashi! I like the dark atmosphere you put in there. I also like the fact that Nemesis is taunting Dragge to fight him. It was well done in the end. All I have to say is, thanks!

Sorry I haven’t been around lately. I ended up having more to do than I anticipated over January. Thanks for putting Mirak’s image up, Dashe. Musashi’s is now up as well, and I’ve fixed the link to Jorsh’s image. Anyway, the deadline is far gone, but for whoever’s left, feel free to send it in at any time if you have something. As I said at the start, there’s no obligation to finish, though there’s also no such thing as being too late (However, I don’t know if Fab is still putting stuff up on the main site... it looks like the already-submitted images are still circulating, in any case. Either way, it’ll be posted here with the others for sure). If it suits you, feel free to call it an extremely early 2009 present rather than a late 2008 one. o.o Anyway, as for my thoughts on the submitted images: From Jorsh: Ah, yes... looking at it now, I’m sticking with my original statement. Simple and cute. The daughter has a pretty straightforward design, but you’ve got the general proportions down nicely, I think. Same with the Zakoban. Girls’s elbow may be a bit high, though. Still a little hard to pick out other details due to the scanning... if there’s shading there, or more in the background than a couple of trees, I’m afraid I can’t see it. Other than that... I’d say, the background looks a little messy, unless the sketchy look was your intent. If you’re using crayons, pastels, or similar media, which is what it looks like here, try stroking in just one direction, particularly when coloring in large areas with a single color, and manipulate the pressure to create shading or gradients. Traditional stuff isn’t really my thing, but that seems to be a proven method. From Mirak: I like the clean vector look you went with. There’s quite a bit of character in the Birdbot’s expressions and actions as well, which I like. As for criticism, it was a little difficult for me to immediately distinguish where one object ends and another begins, particularly with the Birdbots and the objects on the table. It might just be my monitor (which I’ve admittedly had many problems with in the past), but either way, when there are no lines, minimalist shading, and a lot of the objects are the same color, contrast is really a critical factor, I think. Not much other than that, though. It looks like there’s a perspective error with that screw on the middle Birdbot’s head (I don't believe it should be hidden by the garland... unless that garland is further in front than the lower garland, but it’s hard for me to tell). Also, I’d say the image on the whole doesn’t look like that much of a departure from your usual stuff, but then, I have no idea how you put it together. That was just my first impression. From Musashi: Interesting depiction of the characters... I don’t know them well, but the designs are pleasing. I especially like Nemesis’s face. The way the background fades into shadows, like they’re just standing in their own pool of light, is also pretty cool. On the same note, though, I criticize the lighting somewhat as it sort of... well... I don’t know. It seems like the image should feel actiony, but instead feels rather quiet and subdued. I think it’s some combination of the dim lighting and the large amounts of blue in the background. It’s actually rather relaxing. The atmosphere is good, but doesn’t quite match the subject matter, I think. Might be perspective as well... for a fight scene, I’d say go with something dynamic instead of a straight-on view in most cases. Besides that, it looks like the perspective is a little off on the background. The floor rather looks like it’s coming off at an angle from the wall, so that they’re standing on slanted ground. Anyway, again, nice work all around. I’ll be around should more submissions come in.

Yeah, the perspective and lighting and such, that's because they're after thoughts. I really didn't know what I was going to draw for the picture, so I just...drew. Didn't yield the best results, heh.

YES! Sounds awesome, count me in. All we need is a mod or someone else even to volunteer as art moderator. I don't see any reason why the previous rules need any changing. My request would be: Any reaverbot I guess ( is.gd/5gqBT )

I wouldn't expect any consideration because of my spurts of activity and the arrogance of it, but I would endeavor to volunteer for art mod.
Of course, I would also endeavor to remain steadily active. @_@

Jehoshaphat, you people are on the ball with this whole holiday festivities thing. More so than me, definitely. Good to know there’s some healthy interest in this event floating around. Don’t worry, we mods did plan on organizing it again this year (thanks for the offer though, Razor). A new thread will be going up soon.
