Great stuff. Heat would be having a wet dream about that prairies-running reaver that you drew in the background there. It was one of his favorites in the game. You did a great job making it look realistic without making it look overly complex, as sometimes happens when trying to pull off the polygon robot to 2D drawing conversion.
Oh. Yes. Shu is hot as well. XD
There's no way I'm getting a minor character submission in. Good God, my ambition is shot with the current entries.

I still love the fact he used my flash as a T-Shirt design.

Here's some WIP I'm not sure I'll finish. It's turning out to be more of a speed painting than an actual full commitment: img522.imageshack.us/img522/82/wipqw4.jpgThanks guys ^^ I'm not sure if your brother saw that one with Shu or not when it was uploaded. I'd get into the whys and wherefors regarding it's deletion, but that would just be redundant. I'm sure I've said it more than once. Deviantart pisses me off. You should really enter the contest anyway, though. Even if you know you're not gonna win, it's more about sharing your art with other fans and participating in community stuff. Y'know, for fun.

I love that you're somehow consecutively drawing my two favorite Reaverbots in all of Legends in separate pieces of art.
As for the first pic, it's a real shame that got blammed by DevArt, I really would have liked to see it in the contest. ><; All the same, great job. The coloring job definitely gives it a lot of dimension, and I get the feeling from the background it's supposed to be like... rising dust or dirt? The effect is cool. I guess my only crit on the bot would be that the top and the bottom each have the proper persepective, but when compared they don't seem to match...
Again, as Aim, I don't have any way to tackle commenting on that Shu, but I was considering her as one of the ones I might draw. I'm veering more toward my other choices now, though...
Good luck with your next piece. I wish it would finish out because it looks like it's going to be cool.

It didn't get blammed, I just deleted it. I was getting faves from people with... weird tastes in art. Like, really bad fetish stuff. >_>
Shu looks weird to me. I can't quite put my finger on it.
Thanks for the input, though. It's a shame this section of the forum isn't very active... I'd love to see more legends stuff outside... deviantart. *shiver*

Dang, Shu's been working out! <3The anatomy looks spot on to me, so I don't know where this weirdness you're seeing is. But then you've been looking at it for quite a while, I'm sure.
This is gorgeous. It's a shame DevArt is so chock-full of strangeness, really. Maybe the plush pig is setting people off? :s

Ooh, I saw that up at the club when it was first posted... Wondered why it got taken down. Guess that answers that. A bloody shame... ‘Twould have made a formidable entry. I like the anatomy you’ve got going on, and the texture of the hair is something to behold. Your stylization has been kind to her. In particular, the structure of the face is really nice... I’ve never been able to do a really convincing one myself. Good folds in the clothes as well. To be honest though, I think I actually like the reaverbot better. The sort of gnarled, dusty look of the arm and the part along the bottom had a cool effect. And I feel proud of myself for catching the shirt reference. Makes me feel like I actually keep up with all the art going around. >.> My only criticisms might be that her left (viewer’s right) ponytail doesn’t really look separate from the rest of her hair... it just seems to kind of merge with it. That, and I thought the bright orange background was a little distracting. Not that I’m an expert on color theory of course, but the orange was definitely the first thing I noticed. Still though, awesome stuff. And as for the WIP, I’m loving the lighting effect. Honestly, I think that if you were to slap some atmospheric colors into the background, the sharukurusu would probably make a decent piece as it is. And I agree about the activity around here. A shame too, because we’ve got some pretty good artists floating around.

Abandoned sketch for a fake DASH3 screenshot. img49.imageshack.us/img49/4686/rmdfakescreenshotnumba2oq8.jpgI'm going to start making a short fan game with RPG maker incorporating my photoshop art into tile sets and sprites instead. Not pixel art, much larger and not reusing the same tile twice! Basically I'll paint a whole map in photoshop and splice it into several individual tiles in three layers. It will focus more on choices than battle and mostly feature picture cut scenes. By the time I'm done rescripting the coding and stuff it won't even resemble an RPG Maker game. It's really tedious though. >_> I might need help. This is gorgeous. It's a shame DevArt is so chock-full of strangeness, really. Maybe the plush pig is setting people off? :s Ha, yeah. That's kind of what I was thinking. I like to do a lot of sexy stuff but it's mostly all in good taste, like pin ups and the like. After taking a look through the rest of their faves I was a bit embarrassed to see it among all the bad art. Maybe I just shouldn't be so uptight? I dunno. Thanks! I honestly just through that reaverbot in the back at the last minute to make the picture less bland. I'm a color scheme freak, so I went with orange because it's a striking color and I really wanted this to stand out. If it were with beige or light blue or something it just wouldn't be the same. Glad you like it, regardless.

I like how the pig shines in this picture. Along with the rising dust in the background it makes it feel sort of old west to me.

I had just finished watching a bunch of Clint Eastwood movies a few weeks ago. In action... Obviously those ghosts and the background came with the engine. o_0 I just wanted to test it out, and show it off. After I'm done doing a few reaverbots and Legendsy backgrounds I'll start on painting the maps. It will be an enclosed camp and serve merely as a hub to go back and forth between the local ruins and the village the Bonnes are occupying to give Roll any parts you may have found to build weapons with. This is going to be fun. I'm really itching to learn more about this program. Oh, and this game has a killer soundtrack so far. RPG Maker allows MP3s for BMG, so I've dug out all my old offensive punk rock and reggae albums. It's so good. I will definitely be finishing this. I'll start a separate thread once I have a demo ready, and post it at the Club, too.

Wow, great use of the default battle system! I would recommend removing the window, though. It'll make it look better. Also, I'm sure you can find better bars somewhere, and I've even seen a script which allows you to use images as hp/mp bars.

Fixed. I've seen those bars as well. One thing at a time, though. I intend to make this as unique a game (graphics-wise) as possible. No pixel art and no recycled graphics from other games or from the Maker itself. I'm going for totally hand made on this one. ;D One thing I will do though is abuse as many premade scripts as possible. I am by no means a coder. o_0

Hey, that's alright--that's what premade scripts are there there for.

Yeah, the XP community database has a lot of scripts for you to use, some of them are awesome i tell you. It makes me happy that you are taking off in this game making business, You are a very talented artist and i'm really looking foward for your game, if you ever finish it. I'm also a bit sad because now that you are full force on your own prject, i'm on my own.

I could easily do that Game Over screen you asked for a while back. Shortly after you started on that game I had school stuff goin' on and forgot about it since. Mind telling me what size you needed it to be again? I cleaned out my DevArt Notes a while back.
