Aye, I remember that part of the manga. It was just before she and Shinji were to fight that large pyramid-square angel with the particle beam. She stated that not piloting would be comparable to death because she was built to pilot the Evangelion. It is not because she desired to pilot it or because she loved getting shot at at all hours of the day. It was because that was her purpose. If she was not going to fulfill her purpose, then what point would there be for her to continue living? Thus, the lack of the piloting is death. In fact, I’m pretty sure she elaborates on that logic at one point or another. Regarding the idea of a sequel to the series, it’ll never happen. Not from what I’ve seen anyway. Apparently, he series was supposed to conclude with Death and Rebirth, the last two episodes. However, there was such an uprising of fans over the inconclusive ending that they decided to produce the movie, which was made to accompany those final episodes. And you must admit that no matter how deep those final stretches of psychoanalysis were, it could hardly be considered closure to the series. Some may think otherwise, but I have to agree. And even after the film was released, many still disliked the ending. No, a sequel now seems all but impossible. If anything, what I’d like to see is a remake. Or maybe some kind of restoration. It’s a fairly old anime, and with more recent ones coming out left and right, that is becoming increasingly apparent. It’d be like a remake of some old 64-bit game for the modern consoles. Yes, that’d be nice... Also, I was looking over the site Pitch posted up. Browsing through the art, I suddenly realize how saturated Asuka’s facial expressions are. It’s insane compared to the other characters... And I use ‘saturated’ for lack of better word. Let’s just say, she’s very expressive.

There's the Platinum Collection that's floating around stores that is supposedly amazing quality.
Asuka's expressions. I'm gunna offend someone, but when I think of Asuka, I'm reminded of Tron, so I assume it has something to do with being German. Germans yell at me now.

I'M GERMAN DANG IT!!!!!! Seriously though, I'm part German. Asuka was still a great charcter though. Still, she was a real pain sometimes. I realy like the change in character though, even if it was really sad. I WISH THE NGE GAMES WOULD COME OUT IN AMERICA!!!

I'm a quarter German.
It's the only thing I can think of that Asuka and Tron, apart from personality-wise, have in common, yet I dunno I tend to draw this connection between them. Plus they made a big deal about Asuka and her German-ness in her debut. Like when she yells at Shinji to think in German. Streudel, bratwurst... XD I got a good laugh outta that even the first time I saw it.
The Eva games, from what I hear, aren't that great as far as games go, but the anime cutscenes in one of the games are supposedly worth a look. I will say this though:
Eva would work wonderfully on the DS. Been seeing all sorts of games with anime style graphics(that one aimman mentioned, Trauma Center or somethign like that, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney, Lunar Dragon Song, etc.) and they all look AWESOME. Plus some Eva sprites would be total pwnage. What a time to be broke, right? It's one of the few (actually many) things I must admit defeat upon trying to do, those Eva sprites. The DS may not have the best 3D games in the world, but spritewise it's some of the best things I've ever seen.(and contrary to what Sony's been telling you for almost a decade, sprited graphics are not a thing of the past.. >.> "3D only" policy...)

It would be awesome, but I can't afford a DS. I think it should be cell shaded and for all syste,s with a new alternate ending made to make awesome gameplay and a great storyline. EoE was incredible, but not really fo VG. I would lik to see the game based on the show before I say they should make a remake of that. Also you should beable to play Rei, Shinji, and Misato, in order to go through different point of views. Each should have their own weapons and special attacks. Also level ups a weapon up grades.
Gameplay wise, using the Evas in battle should perhaps be similar to MML boss fights. Misato levels should be like a stealth and shoot 'em VG.

I dunno how well cell shaded graphics would work. My experience with them is limited, but from what I've seen they're not very detailed, something Eva would most definitely need. I think that might be a little more cartoony than anime-ish. Different playable characters would be a must. But yeah, two words on that: not likely. Evangelion is from what? '95 ish? 'bout a decade old at least(it was pretty ahead of its time I suppose). And for some reason the games that are out already didn't do so well(a while back I couldn't so much as find a copy of any of the games online). The game ship - or to be more just to Eva, the game ark - has sailed. From what I've seen been done with Eva in the past years, it seems all they intend to do is let the anime stay afloat by releasing and rereleasing the anime with whatever extras they can throw out(Platinum Collection), and of course with the manga. It's kinda doubtful that we'll see a game any time soon. Maybe the Live Action movie they're supposedly working on will spark a new interest in the anime and a game might be released, but the game couldn't be the same as the anime(too predictable and redundant), and usually butchering the story drives purists crazy. >.< It wasn't likely either way though.

Yeah, just dreaming though. Do you think if they got the right people to work on it though (which I'm not say is likely) the movie could be good. Alas, unless they got Hideakio Anno or some other rare possible person it could not touch the anime. Weta working on it still does say some small possibilities.

I somehow doubt the movie will be so good. Live action versions of anime are rarely any good. Shinji's voice for example would not likely be the same as Shinji is played by a woman. The possibility of finding someone who can look and sound like him are practically null. Just about the same for every other character. I suppose though, that just about everything else would fall into place pretty easily. Special Effects these days are probably enough to create the effects in Eva. The problem I see with this is how on earth they're gunna make it not an R+ rated thing. Eva's hard enough for me to stomach animated. I can't imagine scenes like Unit 01 consuming the one angel, Shinji poppin' Kaoru's head off, and heaven forbid Asuka's downfall scene in End of Evangelion. Lanced through the eye, devoured, and then pierced through completely with the other lances. How about Ayanami and her clothing or lack thereof? For that matter Ayanami when her arm just falls off? Unit 01 bursting through her eye? Gendo's death scene? I mean yeah, the live action movie is probably something different, maybe a sort of Death and Rebirth style brief rundown of the series + some ending. But yeah, a lotta the stuff in the anime, to be done in Live Action would be like twice as sickeningly disturbing. And... you can't really have Eva without that, so ... yeah.

Then they'ed possibley come up with something less interesting. But if lucky, after that a directors cut would come out. If had to be any director though besides Hideakio Anno were to work on it who would you want? I know though you'll probally say that know one could do it besides Hideakio, God, Jesus, and a Angel. I'll name mine when I have time.

I dunno anything about directors, but I tend to stick to the idea that "you don't mess with a good thing". When you find something good, stick with it.
Also, I tend to find that once something works well, in future productions, they take the best points and blow them out of proportion until you're so annoyed with them that you wanna ... I'll stop there, since my rage could go on for a whole page.
What I mean... well for an example I'll take the EXE series.
Rockman.EXE's first few seasons were original and interesting. They had their filler episodes, sure, but it was good. The last episode presented the idea of Operators fighting Navis as Navis in the real world. Axess took that a step further and made it a "this won't happen every other episode" thing. And last I checked it was all there was to Steam. And from what I've heard now, Beast takes the idea and refines it, but I don't have the heart to look into it.
What would Eva do then? While I see it like this. EXE trashed the computer concept and became the pointless recycled "Power Rangers"-esque story that it is now. Eva will kill the realism and become just obnoxious. I mean, lets face it, there were sometimes in the anime where you wanted to kick one of the people in the head. Death and Rebirth kinda compensated for that with a bit of mental monologue in some of the more over-the-top scenes. You can only go so far with it, though, and ultimately I think any attempt at redo-ing Eva, be it animated or live action, is a waste of time. It's pretty perfect as is.
btw I don't think Jesus was a very experienced movie director(I'll admit there's a part he could play, but I don't wanna get into that). And if Angels are beings who eat the fruit of life, they'd be even more clueless.

I see your point. I just like to hope for the best(een when it has a .0000002462412875487261357% chance.) Evangelion is perfect as it is. Isn't it a bit sad that the greatest animes are the shorter ones. But I can always enjoe the show and movies.
I am going to get beat up on this site possibley for this, but the only Megaman stuff that I like is MML. MMX, Classic, and EXE. just don't fascinate me.
I once thought about it if they made a MML Live movie. It would sadly suck. A anime though might be good. But of all another game.
I bet you would like to see a perfectly made movie of Yuna. Not that that is going to happen.

There's not enough about Yuna to justify a whole movie. Yuna and Sera though, maybe. Be interesting to see things through their perspectives, particularly the bit where Yuna sees what Trigger is trying to do, or after Trigger beats Sera.
I personally like MML's cartoony-ness and think a live movie would be then death of it(and with no Rebirth, as Eva has). An anime would be the most brilliant thing in the world, but it seems more likely that we'll see a Zero anime before any other, and that's when they finally realize that EXE is old, redundant, and stupid.Relevant Stuff:It's my personal belief that the best animes are the best, because they're short. They don't waste your time with crap you don't care about. They're not formulaic. Like every EXE Axess episode: - Normal day, maybe something happenin in Netto and co.'s lives(school trip, game, whatever)
- Oh noz! Teh Darklloyds are planning something at the EXACT same place!
- OMG WTF!!!111oneoneone it's a Dimensional Area! We've only seen those in every episode!
- CROSS FUSION!!! Pew! Pew, pew! Teh Darklloyd is dead!
- zOMG, it's teh over!
But in short anime, everything has to be relevant to the plot. Unless there's gunna be a deus ex machina style ending(where basically something happens with no indication of the possibility of it even existing anywhere else in the anime, and no explanation afterward), they don't have time to waste with filler episodes. Eva's not even that short though. So it's fine says I.
