Can Pitch draw? No he can't!! ;D Yeah anyway, I was toying with an idea for a while now and I figured I'd draw it. I was playing MMBN4, and seriously hating Soul Unison, and being angry at people for bashing Roll Soul for being ellegedly effeminate(spelling?), and then I got to thinking, what if there was an effeminate Soul Unison for poor little Rockman? j00 wanna see my vision? betchya saw that one coming... ;D This picture turned out really crappy, in my opinion.. feel free to tell me I'm wrong and that it's not really crappy, it's the crappiest crap of all craps. In addition to its overall cruddy look, I drew the shoes wrong!(The line on the little circle thing is supposed to go DOWN, not UP) And I forgot the things on his wrists... Ugh... But, on the bright side, I have a V2 of this that I'm working on and it's turning out much better. Will post later when I'm done. On a sidenote, am I allowed to post sprites here?

ROFL! I don't really know what's up with Soul Unisons, but I get the idea well enough. The picture concept is hilarious! Artistic-wise, yeah, you could certainly stand to improve, but I guarantee you it isn't the crappiest of all craps. But, isn't it a bit degrading to Goddess Yuna? On a sidenote, why wouldn't you be allowed to post sprites? (as long as you made/edited them yourself that is)

I just haven't seen anyone else post sprites here. I have quite a few I've done, but alotta them suck anyway. Yeah I know, but I swear the picture looked better on paper than it does on the computer screen. I hate my scanner... it accents every little mistake in the picture... grr... As for the "degrading to Goddess Yuna" thing... he he... perhaps, and perhaps not. EDIT-O! Let me try out V2. It still sucks but it's a pretty nice improvement I'd like to think.... I was gunna try to color it in PhotoShop, but it just turned out looking crappy. sos I won't bother to post that. Anyway, I dunno, tell me whatchya think. img.photobucket.com/albums/v127/Pitch_EXE/yunasoulv2SmallMedium.jpg

That's funny. Nice drawing, weird concept. I don't understand the second one though.

Well evidently people don't like my drawings, so I figure I should get my sprites in, eh? I did say I could sprite... ClassicBlues.EXE - because Blues.EXE = teh sux0rs. Rockman.EXE is the base. ClassicHyperRoll.EXE - not as good as I was hoping for... poorly shaded in my opinion, and it just looks kinda weird... Hyper Roll in MvsC was weird too, though, so it makes up for it Bombman.EXE is the base. The Yuna Pokemon Trainer Sprite. Base - First Sprite - Finished Sprite. This one is one of my favorites!! The Sera Pokemon Trainer Sprite. Again, Base - First Attempt - Finished Product. This one I love too, becuase it goes so great with Yuna. Ain't they great? Tron Bonne!! This one turned out really well I think! It really covered up the base as Sabrina.... Once again, Yuna. This one's good, but it didn't turn out as utterly awesome as I'd hoped it would. The Yuna operator sprite's base is Meiru-chan(Mayl/Maylu; Roll's operator) My Bon Bonne Buddy Icon. Full Custom. ;D No base here. My Servbot Buddy Icon. Also Full Custom ;D My attempt at a Bruno Icon... it's Full Custom like the others, but it's not really my best work. It was really hard to fit something so big into something so small.

Yeah I was goin for that... ;D The Yuna one took me forever to do. I must've went through like twenty different versions with that, each time I noticed something else wrong with it. Sera's was phun to do though, since I had a vague idea of what I was doing, after making Yuna. Tron took me like hours and hours though... ugh... she was hard to make, but she came out pretty good! ;D

Nice job! I've seen all these before, and I guessed that some bases were from battle network, but I would've never guessed Pokemon!

Hmm...? Well I suppose if I hadn't said the three were Pokemon Trainer sprites, you wouldn't have picked that up but yeah, you can tell by the style. I like the Pokemon Trainer sprite style, because it lets you get in all the details - like Pixel Art, but a sprite.
Anyways, thank you, Buster Cannon for the comments .

Very nice sprites! ClassicBlues's closer leg could have been a bit smoother, but he looks pretty good everywhere else. The other recolorers are nicely done, and the custom ones are good, especially Bruno. His shading mostly, very impressive. You should try making sprite sheets sometime. I myself suck at/dislike spriting, but I look at sprites all the time from NES to GBA quality, so I can appreciate the detail you put into yours. Keep up the good work!

I'm glad you like them Blyka! ;D
Anyway yeah, ClassicBlues's leg was pretty annoying to work with. For the most part it's scratched. It was hard to work with, but I was really trying to get that stiff, oversized metal-ish look. It did turn out a little awkward though. Think I forgot the screws too... >_< d'oh!
As for Bruno's shading... yeah I'm kinda proud of it, though I should've used some more contrast I think. I was trying to stick to a no-shading idea for my buddy icons becuase I wanted them to be very basic-ish, but Bruno just didn't turn out okay without it, since he's such a giant, so it was a last minute thing.
Oh yeah, and for sprite sheets... geez, don't get me started. I tried once to do a very basic sheet of a buddy icon sized Data doing the little Data dance. Basically involved five frames of hand movements and two frames of that little jump to the side that he does. Couldn't even get that done... *sigh* that little step really killed me.
Well anyway, again I'm glad you like them, and thanks for commenting.

Spriiiittesss....
Sera is by far the best one there in my opinion. The shading gives it a wonderful touch and the colors seem to blend almost perfectly. Tron looks a little rough though. Perhaps a little more contrast on the shirt and a softening of the face...
But they’re all good. Keep it up and you could become a professional spriteneer, or whatever they call people who make sprites for a living. I don’t know. A graphic artist is it? Gah, who cares? Anyway, sprites look terribly hard to do, cramming all the details into a tiny little square of pixels. I’ve always been impressed by them, especially the Pokemon ones, which are some of the best I’ve ever seen. Amazing that after all my years of playing those games I couldn’t see that you used them for bases. I knew the Yuna one looked familiar, but I would have never guessed the others...
And your drawings are pretty good, don’t give up on them. It just takes a little practice is all, getting a feel for the proportions of the character you’re drawing and what be it. Keep at it and you’ll do fine. Although I suppose that’s doesn’t mean much coming from someone whom can’t draw...
I don’t suppose you have a Master sprite in your little repertoire somewhere?

yeah I'm pretty amazed at how well my Sera sprite came out. It was pretty much an accidental thing. I was just playing around with the colors, shading here and there and I found something that worked.
Well that's the second time I've heard someone say I need to add some contrast to Tron... strange, I did add some last time... guess it's not enough. Mayhaps I'll try that later.
I believe we're called Spriters... I'm not sure though, there may be another term out there somewhere. Spriter sounds pretty boring to me. Anyway, spriting to me is easy because you can manipulate every little pixel. So unlike drawing...
And as for why you can't tell I used certain bases for some, I can explain that pretty easily. The Yuna one, while it took me longer than both of the other two, had the least editing involved. I was playing LeafGreen(yes I do still play every now and then), and saw that the Lass had Yuna's build and outfit give or take, so a bunch of editing all over and that was it. With Sera though I took my base, cut out the are between her hips and her socks, made them look Sera-ish, and scratched everything in between those. Then chopped off her hair and redid that for the most part. Much more scatch work involved. Then the Tron sprite is one of my favorites. I changed the angle of her head, so that instead of looking downward, she's looking straight at you. That and her right hand(on your left) is flipped so it's pointing down, because I couldn't think of anything to do with it as it was.
And of course, as for my drawings, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've been practicing for years and years and I'm not getting all that much better. I'ma keep going though.
As for having a Master sprite in here somewhere in here... I'm afraid not. I was going to get to it, but I've had to take a break from spriting because of school work. Not sure if that's a request or not, but I think once I get some free time I'll give that a shot. only two more weeks!! ;D
