Word on the streets from Director Masakazu Eguchi is that the Legends 3 build they've put together is a sample, and the project hasn't even been officially greenlit by the Capcom execs yet. February 22nd is D-Day for the real Legends 3 crew. I guess that would explain why they'd be pushing to get 10k Servbots between the Dev-Rooms so suddenly. If 10,000 members registered by this crucial meeting, that'd make the entire DevRoom concept look pretty snazzy. I wish he'd told us straight up, though! :21: Telling people to get all your friends to join without giving them real reason to reminds me eerily of working for Vector Marketing.

It hard to imagine that Capcom wouldn't greenlight it after how much the community has invested in it already, but the Capcom higher-ups are really more concerned with whether they'll make any money off of this. It sounds harsh, but fandom passion is of little value if they end up losing their investment. MML3P by design got us a look into the game-making process a little early. Who knows how many potential games the Capcom execs merciliessly shoot down every month that we never hear about? In a normal scenario, the public probably doesn't get to hear about the game until after it's greenlit but that would have been too late for the way this project was supposed to work.
Sure wish they leveled that on us sooner. After all the elation of "MML3 is finally getting made!", it turns out there's a chance it still might not. Then again, if they only told us a few months ago that there was a slim chance MML3 would get made if things came together nicely by February, then we may not have gotten as enthusiastic to begin with. After all, we've heard plenty of "MML3 is thiiiiis close to getting made" for the past ten years.

That is quite true.
If the execs actually turn it down, it would be a huge hit to their PR, especially if lots of the DASH/Legends fans are also fans of their big hits like Monster Hunter.
Then again, this whole thing could very well be a way of getting people to talk about it, and it's working.

Well, I guess he didn't really need to bother us with that before. I think he only mentions it now because he feels the connection between the DevRoom and the DevTeam wasn't close enough. I mean, he starts the whole rant about that before.
If you ask me, he decided to put into practice what he spoke earlier. He's telling us a major milestone of the project: final green light for full clearance. This gives his earlier statement a much bigger impact because he's doing exactly what he said he would do.
Also, that would explain a lot about how little material we got so far. Beside a few wallpapers and art stuff, every elements from the game comes from events and Aero's progress. The fact that all we had was a sample would explain why we got no MegaMan, no Roll, no Tron, no Teisel, etc.
I don't think that they would have got this far to have the whole thing canceled. At worst, Mr. Famous (Yes, I am calling that from here on) will be sent back to the drawing board (with a possible % drop on the rocket like if a ServBot messed up).
I don't want to be negative now of all times. We just have to keep our optimism and do what we can to help.
VIVA LA REVOLU...wait, we're not working on the Revolution?.... Eh, this speech will do for whatever we were talking about.

In my opinion, what Eguchi did was the best he could do... telling the truth, starting by calling us "customers" and making us see the reality of the boring business life, in which you´ll "sometimes" get what you want.
After saying that, i´m still excited of this project and will be more if this gets the green light, if not, well, it´s not as bad i mean, it´s not a reason for cutting the veins on our wrists.

Nightshade, you just got "La Resistance" from the South Park movie stuck in my head. Anybody here up for a Massive Multiplayer Ensemble Number on February 21? But yeah, that is actually a brilliant point and explains why nobody but Aero, Roll, and Tron have shown up anywhere!

Hah hah, It would be some kind of riot in Capcom if they didn't green-light it at this point. I'd never play another Capcom game until MML3, and I'm sure I wouldn't be alone.
XD Oh well, here's to hoping everything goes well.

I'd never play another Capcom game until MML3, and I'm sure I wouldn't be alone. But what about the ever-lovley Chun-li? And te super cute DR ServHead Zombies? you mustn't swear off sch a lovely slew of fun times! ---On subject: From a business view I see what they're doing, but it's still idiotic to me.

Finally getting around to telling us the truth about what's really going on is one of the most intelligent things they've done since starting this project, right next to pushing to get the game made at all. I wish they'd done it sooner, and Guy, I don't know what you're talking about when you say they're being idiotic on a non-business standpoint.

This is unbelievable. Seriously, seriously they should have told us way sooner than this. How are you going to announce MML3 is coming before it's greenlit? Ughh, so how do I get one of those servebot numbers?

I guess this means we need to kick it into high gear no matter how corny that sounds, and get as many people as we can to join the devroom and have them get a servbot number!
If this game doesn't get green lighted I'll probably lose 95% of my capcom fandom.

I think you totally misread my post: "From a business view I see what they're doing, but it's still idiotic to me." - This means I see the business value of what they are doing, but I still think it idiotic to rile up fans when there's a chance the riling could be all for naught. Maybe they did finally tell us the truth, but damage is done by that, having the truth from day one would've avoided the damage.
