Which name do you prefer? The Japanese "Aero" or the English "Sephira"? I personally prefer "Aero", and I guess I'm not alone. Apparently, so many people prefer it that Capcom Unity is now taking a poll about it. Disagree with me if you must, but I think the number of inconsistencies in the localizations of the series is already ridiculous enough. We don't need another one! Besides, "Sephira" reminds me of "Sephiroth", which I really don't need. So, my vote is for Aero.

We were talking about this already in another topic, but I guess it makes as much sense here, too. xD
I voted for Aero, just because I like it better. Sephira has a nice enough ring to it; it doesn't really bother me. What bothers me is the explanation they're trying to give us for the change.
Regarding inconsistencies in the localization, I haven't the faintest idea what you mean. I thought Legends was pretty good in that regard. This change just makes no sense to me though. >__<

Aero all the way. Sephira (on top of sounding like Sephiroth) just sounds a bit too overly-feminine when stacked up against her picture, dialogue clips, and character description, and Aero definitely sounds more right for the universe.

Aero sounds like the common name used by everyone, and Sephira is more formal than a four-letter name like Aero. Aero also gets to the point in displaying the windy, klutzy theme they seem to have going for the new heroine, while Sephira makes the wind connection a bit too subtle for many to understand (and, as a result, less appropriate for the Legends milieu overall). Finally, it fits the naming conventions found with Roll and Tron, which Sephira obviously doesn't.
--That they chose Sephira over Aero has only sparked more unnecessary chatter and drama than there deserves to be for this game, and it would simply be a better business decision to make the switch to Aero and clear this whole slap-me-doo hoedown of irritated fans away from the picture.

Why is the Aero/Sephira thing worthy of a Capcom poll now? :06: This just seems like something to satisfy the complainers. If Capcom's going to listen to those people, I worry about what's going to get over to the Devteam at CoJ. ._.'
Nevertheless, it's good that they're trying to listen to thier fans, so I'll still give 'em a vote.

--That they chose Sephira over Aero has only sparked more unnecessary chatter and drama than there deserves to be for this game Honestly, if they hadn't revealed the name as Aero, then went and changed it, then had fans wondering why (and then provided a lousy explanation that rang false almost immediately) I wouldn't have minded at all if they'd come up with some strange new name for the character. It's a silly thing to get concerned about, really, but it just makes me wonder why they're doing it in the first place. Sephira's not bad. Aero fits better. I'm happy either way. And confused either way. And they'll probably never bother to explain for real. Huh... Blues That's an interesting point. Hopefully this whole input thing doesn't become super trivialized. >_<

It just seems so unnecessary since every official post about her has been "Aero (Sephira in the west)", and each time I read it I felt so annoyed because there was no real reason for the difference in names.
Hopefully it will return to being just Aero =P

God is in his Heaven. All's right in the world. Wait, no... AT Field Detected! Pattern is...Lily! Guess I'm one of the few that actually preferred the initial heroine contest name.

Hah. While I didn't really have any problem with the name Lilly (two L's, by the way), I didn't really see it fitting any of the heroine designs particularly well. Or fitting in with the Legends universe names, not that there's any really criteria for that... it just seemed like a bland, ordinary name. Ordinary names have little to no place in Legends. XD
I think it's silly that people are pointing out the four-letter trend in Legends names as a basis for which name is better. Somehow I have trouble believing that was even intentional. Simple names? Sounds good. Mandatory "four letters" restriction? Ehh... not so much.
EDIT: Hah. Just noticed they swapped the art out with her official art. I guess too many people were getting excited confused by teh fanart.

Lily would be fine too (Maybe better than Aero), but I mean I get why it's not Lily, since it was always intended to be placeholder. They at least had a reason there that made sense.

My thoughts in a nutshell[/u] It was only a matter of time until they opened up a poll. AERO it is. Hope we can say goodbye to Sephira forever. ;D Edit: I guess the 4 letter thing explains why you can only have 4 letter names for Servbots in TMOTB even though everybody knows the FOUNDATION for any name is 5.

So it begins--the Second Waifu Wars. I should make a sig that says "Team Aero". Bahaha. Regarding inconsistencies in the localization, I haven't the faintest idea what you mean. I thought Legends was pretty good in that regard. I think, by calling the game "Legends", you've already contradicted yourself. Whether you think "Mega Man Legends" is a better title than "Rockman DASH" or not, it's still inconsistent to change it. I still haven't gotten used to the name "MegaMan Volnutt". In other news, I remembered another reason I prefer the name "Aero": it's "Zero" with the letter "Z" changed to its opposite, "A". I'd like to think they did that on purpose just as a way of saying, "No, Zero will not be in this game. Instead, have the opposite. Take that."

I still haven't gotten used to the name "MegaMan Volnutt". I have no idea what your complaint is with the name. MegaMan Legends could be a bit more descriptive, I guess, but I think it's a good name. As for the name MegaMan Volnutt, well, the Volnutt is there in the Japanese game, so I can only assume you're mad he's called MegaMan? If this about the MegaMan vs. Rockman thing, you're only about 23 years late.. (Rockman turned 23 today. ^_^) In that case, all I can say is, seriously? Get over it. o__o; The one thing I'll give you is that the explanation for him being called MegaMan was lousy in the english version, but at least they tried! I mean, I guess in the game he could've been called “Mega” instead of MegaMan to match up with the whole Rock/Rockman thing from the Japanese, but, err.. yeah. That just seems odd to me, personally. And beyond that I'm not sure what you're getting at if it's not about actually wanting him to be named Rockman here in the states. >__<

Aero. It's more easy to remember. Plus, it's more awesome.
