Because I'm not allowed to make official polls n stuff here's a poll I decided to make and post it here in General Legends Talk. I'd like your opinion on which is the most correct way to spell Teasel's name or you can also respond with the way you like to spell it reguardless of which wa is correct. *Teasel *Teisel *Teiizeru * And any other spellings you might use.

Whatever I type is how I say Teisel!
Heh.
Actually, I never really thought about how to spell his name... So I went to the characters part of this site and found out that spelling... Then I seen people type Teisel and all this other stuff... I just usually type out whatever.

THE correct spelling is Teisel. I've seen it in the games at least a couple times. TMOTB, mostly.
That's the real way of spelling it. The manuals are totally off, if they say something different. I think they had a different translation team for the manuals.

Quite correct, Teisel it is. If I wasn't sure of it, I wouldn't have gone to such great pains to change it in every place I could when I moved to Version 3. Previously the site had mistakenly had Teasel. But, since I was wrong for so long, it doesn't bother me that other people still spell it with an "a".

What does Teisel's name sound like in Japanese. It isn't a Japanese name is it? I mean it doesn't really sound Japanese in any case.

It sounds like Deisel in American. I believe his Japanese name is Teizuru.
Also, Teisel is not Japanese, because it would sound it Teaser. L's and R's are both pronounces like R's.

Alright, ASSUMING Capcom was trying to make German-sounding names for the Bonnes, here's the deal: It's hard to make a German-sounding name in Japanese. German sounds just don't exist in Japanese. The best they could do was "Teiizeru," which I find is a solid romanization of the katakana (which Shell posted).
"Teiizeru" was then modified to become "Teisel" for the English release. It sounds a lot more German since we can actually make German sounds. Considering the original intention of Capcom, I find that "Teisel" is actually more correct than the original "Teiizeru." Maybe if this was a game like Pokémon where Ash's original name was Satoshi, the original would be more correct. But in this case, I'm gonna go with the more authentic (and I use that term lightly) sounding name.
Now I know nothing about German, but if I did, I'm guessing there would be even more to this story. @_@
Really the deal with "L" and "R" is that in rômaji, they stand for the same Japanese sound, which is similar to a cross between the English sounds for "L" and "R."
I don't have my games with me right now to listen to the exact pronunciation, but for now there are a few guides to romaji pronunciation on the internet. Just look one of those up and I'll edit when I can.

If you were actually going to spell Teisel's name according to how it sounds in the German alphabet, it would have to be spelled "Tiesel."
The "ei" blend in German signifies the "i' sound as in the word "eye."
"Bonne" sounds like the French word for "good". The German word for good is "gut," but I don't remember if there's a word that sounds like "Bonne" in German.
I'm not a genius, or nothin'. Just a bit of German trivia, folks.

If I'm not mistaken, I think I actually have seen it spelled Tiesel in some places before. Maybe there are multiple "T**sels" out there. o.o; He does look different in all three games, times it by two for the Japanese version, that would mean 6 of them! @_@

whoa.. hahah funny stuff, people really got into this, I wasn't expecting many responses. Well, I do agree that Teisel is more correct but I tend to spell it Teasel, I don't know why I just type and that's just what happens. But if you are looking for the romanji version of Teisel it is more correct as Teiizeru because that's how the katakana translate exactly. I don't know if all of the Bonne stuff is supposed to be German but a lot of it is but then there's some little bits of French like Bonne which is the feminine version of the word good and Bon Bonne which is similar to the word for candy. Bonbon is candy. I always think it's amusing when Tron says Bon Bonne in MOTB as if you have to say the last name with the first when he's her BROther! I can't recall the last time I told called my brother by our last name. Hehehe! ;D

You're usually supposed to call Bon Bonne by both his names, just 'cause it sounds right. You know, like Charlie Brown.
"You're a blockhead, Charlie Brown."
"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
"Owning ten percent of Charlie Brown is like owning ten percent of NOTHING!"
It wouldn't sound right if you just called him "Charlie". Same goes for Bon.

Ha, good point Aarond. Charlie Brown just isn't the same unless you say all of it. Speaking of that name I actually know a Charles Brown in real life. He went to my highschool, no joke. I think people called him Charlie.. But I can't remember I just know his first full name was Charles. Eh, that's all unrelated to the topic tho and I don't want to get a spam warning so Uhm. Bon Bonne, it's a super cute name and I agree that it just sounds right! Yatta!

There's a Bonbon in 'Little Nemo' but she was named directly after the candy. Either that or the candy was named after her, LN was quite an old series.
What are the Bonne's last name in Japanese? The first name made for interesting conversation, but as long as they don't massacre it some artistic licence must be taken when translating something, especial from and into entirely non-compatible languages like Japanese and English.
(If Bonne was really just picked out of thin air then I'll be a monkey's owner.)
