No, you don’t turn dark. I’m an expert at being evil on Nino Island seeing as I’ve shot down the flutter, thrown Johnny over the edge, shot down Johnny’s ship, destroyed the mini-cannons, and threw all those birdbots over the edge. All it does is die… though I don’t remember any lasers. In fact, most enemies only attack either by exploding or colliding with you. Only the Bonnes and co. seem to use plasma weaponry, and lasers are photon based. I thought Calinca was easy, though you just had to go and remind me of the chicken man and those Saul Kada vacuum reavers… I always make the "chicken man" go "Don't kill me!" and cluck like the chicken he is.

I hate that blob. It's easy, but the glowing icy floor messes me up.

I always enjoyed Nino in a wierd tedious sort of way. Any ruin that has a giants room in it is always one of my favorites. What bugs me was Elysium that first time I did it because I kept running past the room where the refractor is. (And is it just me, or do the floor reavers always kill anyone else as well?)

There is a trick to them however. When you see the yellow beams, quickly jump or roll. And even if you do get caught, just keep hitting buttons so that the pain won't last as long. Nah, floor reavers don't kill me. They just bug me.

I hate the Nino ruins because I move so damn slow. The Hydroskates don't help much, as there's barely any room for you to make a decent run.
It would've been better if the Hyrdochip allowed you regular movement underwater. Then it would've been bareable.

Awww shucks...they're not so bad. The ruins themselves are nicely designed, and you can jump for miles and stuff down there. Jumping underwater is fun! But...more so coming up than down. Unless you're like me, and you spin around when you're floating down...(yay disorientation!) And it's fun to see all the little reaverbot fishies splattering around on floor when you drain the water. Tee hee hee. But yes, the speed you move at underwater does tend to make you want to find some heavy ornament to balance on the forward button while you go and make lunch. But the fact that there's so much cool stuff to see down there stops you falling asleep, right? (Like that big manta ray...thing...) And just the fact that it's in a big hole and you just fall into it. ;D

the nino island ruins are pretty easy once you have been through once, but the first time i ignored roll and killed the giant fish reaverbot, so i couldnt get the key to the next room.

Nino wasnt too bad, i still didnt like it that much. By far Elysium was the worst though. Im trying to backtrack so i can go back to the island and toy around (Its saved at Data right before you have to fight the last boss, which i have beaten already ) But anyhow, yeah, ive tried a couple times, and always manage to find myself back where i started.

Actually, the Nino Ruins are my favorite. I guess the biggest reason for that is because I really really like watery world things. If anyone is familiar with Legos, I bought all of the Aquazone models (they were released in '95, '96, and '97). I would have gotten a lot of the Divers models as well, but I spent all my money on the Aquazone, and didn't have any left for the Divers...
The other reasons were the music, and the fish. I loved how the music got echoey when you flooded the ruins, and I liked how there were fish swimming everywhere. It was really like being underwater (for me. I don't like swimming much, I find it boring. Though I'd LOVE to go scuba diving). As for the water slowing you down, yah, that was big problem. I must agree that that was probably my biggest frustration of that ruin.
As for my least favorite (which is, more or less what this thread is aimed at), I can't say. It's been quite some time since I played MML2. I also liked Elysium because of how big it was. To me, it really seemed like a world to explore. Of course, I was quite disapointed that you couldn't go into any of the houses you found there. I was also disapointed that you couldn't exlpore more the living area. That would have been cool (even if it was all the same). Though, after playing through that part, I can see why The Master got tired of his existence. Sure, he never died, got sick, hurt, pain, all that stuff, but he never really *lived* either...
Anyway, yah, I liked the Nino Ruins. Mouser X over and out.
