We probably will never know, but mmlex follows:
1. Orange thing = backpack 2. Megaman = Human
If it doesn't now, i'm definintally going to be complaining to jmc... i don't think we will have problems, since he thinks the same.

Well, if we decide to take into account that the orange thingy is actually an anomaly in the chronological cratos theory of abiogenic ambiguity, and also taking into account the chain of phenotypes and genotypes, which clearly shows that the thingy is indeed abiological, we can conclude that it is indeed a backpack and that MM is, without a doubt, a xenophobe. It’s so simple that I just made it up! Bah, it’s all so clear now…
Er, if you want to know about those theories then go to the last page of the “Now then, shall we continue? (What is MegaMan?)” thread. Both theories are on that page.

Not my name, We did not actually put what Megaman is in MMLEx, and did not point either directions.
Well, I completely understood what you are trying to say Gustaff Glyde, you are using big words. It all makes sense now and no one will oppose you.

Now people say the thing on his back is like a juke box that releases music for the game. NO NO's! 1. Juke box will mess up his hearing when an reaverbot is sneaking up on him and it makes all sorts of noises. [think halo-you have to hear if an enemy is close]
2. Wouldn't some of the people around him be bothered by the loud music?
3. Why would it be like a juke box-like thing anyway? What?...In the first mega man legends game, there was music and no juke box thing. I don't understand this thing about a juke box...
Like I said before. Its like a giga chip thingy with a lot of space. [Jimmy neutron talk:]The things become electron's in which go into the chip.
Bad graphics too. Look people! Remember that mega man uses refractors as money. How would you fit a refractor through a tiny hole like a piggy bank has? A screw has that indent too!
Does anyone else want me to answer...sigh* Thy hands tire...

Chill, I doubt anyone actually thinks its a juke box. We are joking around a little (at least I'm 99% sure) and sometimes a wild thing like this will some out.
I think the orange thing on MegaMan's back is a Time machine that took him from MML1 to MML2.
I really don't think thats what it is, but sometimes we come up with wierd answers as jokes.

… Yes, it was a joke. Nobody in their right mind would think that it was a jukebox. When people start suggesting it’s a parasite then you know people a joking. And yes, that was suggested a while back.
Also, there really isn’t anything wrong with him fitting zenny in the backpack. First off, the on screen zenny is most likely exaggerated in size and secondly, most games have you carrying an impossible amount of items in your pockets. Take most RPGs these days. The chars have a massive amount of money, weapons, and items all stored in their pants pockets and I somehow doubt they have these ‘giga chips’ (And just a note, storing only the electrons of an object wouldn’t work. That would effectively destroy the item).
It’s just an item placed there so when Capcom gets stupid emails like, “If MM is wearing armor, where does he keep his items?” they don’t have to answer with, “Up his ___!”. Instead, they can just say, “In that backpack”.

First off, Lloyd, you're in 5th grade and you play Halo? My my, I know someone's mother who will be getting an informative e-mail. As a moderator, it is my duty to ensure the well being and moral health of our members................................
Anyways, I kinda am leaning toward the whole communicator thingie. And guess what Lloyd...... IT'S A VIDEO GAME! Just like Jimmy Neutron which has NO coralation whatsoever to MML, it isn't real! The science in Jimmy Neutron is laughable at best! Only a fancy word tacked on to an insane theory that will make people believe.......... End rant.....

I think it was part of that water gun weapon he used on the first mission of the game.

Personally, I twhink it's a back-pack. Remember, in the MML1 whenhe beat the first reaverbot, he smiled and turned. If you look close enough, you see four screws in a box-like shape ( :: ) Roll bought the bak-pack for his 15 b-day and hooked it up to his armor... I think.

Well, whatever it is, I'm willing to bet that it's the reason that Mega Man can now get burned, stunned, frozen, and all of that fun stuff in MML2 whereas in MML he couldn't.

Well, im not sure wat it is but i have a few guesses
1) you know how in MML his health bar had a shield that kept constantly breaking, well i guess its something that will keep it from breaking. thats why his health bar never breaks in MML 2.
2) its probably a power up for the buster cause its stronger in this game, for example, in MML when u maxed out his buster, his bullets where gold. I MML 2, they are blue. Might not be a good guess but its the best thing i can come up with.
I strongly thinks its #1 but i doubt #2 because the thing is not connected to the buster. I also doubt its a backpack cause its way too small.
