Oh sure, its gutsy, and no I don't know about that because I never actually cared about MN9 outside of the fact that it was Inafune giving capcpom the finger, and there was some nice concept art to gank.
For what its worth, I think the character models actually look fairly nice... REDASH!Beck's aside anyway... that one needs work, on both hands.
However, as gutsy as it may be, I think it was a bad idea to show it. Its never been a good idea to release that level of development to the public. Every developer that's ever done it has lost more potential-customer faith because of it.
Its important to remember that I'm saying it looks bad, with caveats, due to experience in both development and gaming experience... most people are not going to examine the demo with nearly as much objectivity or experience.
The demo is poorly programmed. That could very well be because it was a hasty last ditch effort to stir interest.
The average person won't look past "this isn't a fun finished product with all the features and polish"... which is obviously an unreasonable assessment... but it is how the majority of people who are potential funders, will assess.

Considering that the character models are the most well-polished things in the prototype, they must have spent most of their time on modeling and didn't have enough time for programming.
The comments from the KS comments section, and also from the post on the 100K Strong page (barring a few ones saying they don't care because this is not Legends 3) seem positive for the most part, but gaming news sites are already bashing it. As cool as the little ingame secrets are, from these reactions, my guess is that the prototype doesn't appeal to those who either aren't Legends fans (and won't understand the various references), or don't know the MN9 (temporary) characters.

I said this on Facebook, but I can't seem to bring myself to feel anything about that right now. It's like, okay, this happened, but how is it going to end up falling out of our grasp this time? Probably a defense mechanism. I wouldn't be surprised if I weren't the only one feeling it after what we've had to deal with over the last fifteen years.

Celebrate to an extent MML fans. This game is being funded even when the Kickstarter falls short in a few more days. FUZE funds Red AshPC, PS4, XB1. Sorry for now, Wii U owners, but it's better that this gets made than not in my book. I was hoping it would be on Wii U, but I was thinking to get a PS4, and this gives me more incentive to invest in one.

Woah, Raven, I don't know what happened to Bean's post, but nice catch! Maybe our luck is starting to turn around!

I deleted it when I started to look who FUZE is. They seem like a shady company judging by their page. I was hoping not to be the one to get hopes up after finding that one out. Well, it is being made. I hope it turns out good. Legends fans have been yanked around enough by stupid gaming drama.

Hah, I actually laughed. If FUZE really is that shady, then maybe I'll be able to get a dramatic opera out of this after all! From what the page said, I was under the impression they were just backing it with a very large amount of money.
Doesn't sound like they're going to be doing too much besides giving out money, but you never know. It is a Legends knockoff.

This ride is going to be fun no matter which way it ends at this point.

Well, it is an interesting turn of events. At least the game is getting made, for now. As I understand it China's situation with games is... interesting, a long history of being banned and un-banned. I don't believe that video games are super popular there now, but I know alot of companies would love to get a bite of the Chinese market. It looks like FUZE itself is trying to make a console (I wonder what that entails for this title). Like others have stated, I hope this doesn't turn into some drama.
I wonder how this will affect the actual kickstarter (I would like that extra content). I suppose being greenlit for Xbone and PS4 would attract more people to fund it, but it will also take the heat off for other people. "Why throw them money for a game coming 2 years from now that is going to be made anyways?"
I wonder why they skipped the Wii U when it was the second on the pole. Though I suppose in 2 years the console might be obsolete.

I wonder why they skipped the Wii U when it was the second on the pole. Though I suppose in 2 years the console might be obsolete. Developing for Wii U apparently uses some engine that's not compatible with what the team's using for Red Ash. It's possible, but it would need to be a port. I hope it happens regardless, because Wii U probably has the best audience they'd get. I want to see the Red Ash/MML3 Making Of story as a musical. Throw in a "screw you heteronormativity" subplot and it's pure Tony Bait.

Hard to say. Steam has a heck of a big audience. I know I sure don't own any up to date consoles these days. 3DS is the latest I have, and it's the first version of the thing that Nintendo's ever released. (SUPER glad it's guaranteed to have a PC port, even if that means no controller for me.)

By audience, I'm talking kids. You know, like we all were when we got on this hype train. Unless you're Aarond.

WiiU only has unreal support up to UE3, but the current engine they want to use is UE4. That's why Might No 9 is on the WiiU, but its port for the 3DS is kind of an original made thing, because the 3DS has zero Unreal engine support. So I'm guessing if they do make a WiiU port it will be a downgrade in some small ways, the big thing here is the WiiU is actually catching up to the Xbone in terms of sales. Like it really did just break 10 million units sold, and the Xbone is only ahead at nearly 12 million. The more the PS4 gets established, the more the WiiU seems to catch up the Xbone, as the PS4 is garnering more of the FPS audience that used to flock to the Microsoft consoles.
Anyways! This is still fantastic news, weird news, but fantastic! I want my T-shirt I pledged for darnit!

Oh, this update was unexpected too. At least now we know that the game will be made! What a relief. I was getting worried already. And about the engine, they said on Twitter they want to use Unreal Engine 4 (as opposed to UE 3 like for Mighty No. 9) because support for UE 3 software might have ended by the time RED ASH gets released.
