Well, hello to everybody! How's it going? I've been lurking for a while, figured I might as well get an account so I could lurk while logged in... I am the Eskimo Of The Night, wanderer of the desolate lands in search of a MML community. And it seems my search has reached fruition!
I'm a long time Legends fan, back when I was 8 I played it for the first time, it was my first megaman game in fact! It's been an all time favorite of mine, and I'm honestly surprised that the community is so small... (No offense!)
I recently started trying to speedrun the N64 version, no luck so far. To be as fast as possible, you don't buy any health upgrades, energy canteen, or shield repairs, so getting killed in two hits by Garudoriten is a major problem for me, so I've hit a wall. Practise makes perfect I guess, but he's such a pain. Shame about the problem door though, a sequence break to activate the sub cities would be major... I have a friend who may be able to help, but short of a Tool Assisted run it doesn't seem viable.
I'm also really interested in doing something in the roleplaying section if anyone's up for it. I'm freshly done with Dungeon Mastering a D&D game, and I have an idea for a simple 1 on 1, or 2 or 3, adventure doing a dig with the DM as the spotter and the party as the diggers. It's simple enough, but if there's any interest, I'd be glad to give it a go!
So yeah, that's me! Really excited to be here, hope to stick around until Capcom gets around to MML3, and then some. See you around!

You like the night? I like the night too! Garudoriten's a pretty legit threat alright, but he still kinda falls victim to the "run in circles and shoot!" method, except against him, you're a bit forced to add jumping on top of that method so your shots can actually reach his head. And to know when to jump when/if he gets too close to the edge of the room so's you can avoid the shockwave when he leaps back to the center of the room. I find roleplaying to be fun in itself, but I think my interests have been more limited to attempting canon ones instead of OC-powered ones. One thing's for sure, I don't think it's possible for Roll to ever be boring when I've got control of her. But, it sounds like what you want to try and start is a bit more OC-oriented, but I can respect that as well. Limiting an RP to two or three people may actually get us somewhere with reviving roleplaying in itself, since it's been pretty stagnant in recent years. I look forward to seeing your ideas appear there! Enjoy your stay, naturally. Don't bleed to death from papercuts when the paperwork arrives. I'm off-duty this time around; you're lucky you appeared outside of business hours.

I am the Eskimo Of The Night, wanderer of the desolate lands in search of a MML community. See, there's your problem, MML communities are not desolate lands! [/wishful thinking] Welcome, Eskimo Of The Night, to your new existence* as a member* of the Megaman Legends Forums! *-Offer not valid in Vietnam, Pakistan, and Vatican CityIt's been an all time favorite of mine, and I'm honestly surprised that the community is so small... (No offense!) The series is a very polarizing one. You either enjoy it for what it is - a solid, early 3D action adventure game - or you asked for it because it said 'MEGAMAN' and had your Christmas ruined (and possibly stopped believing in Santa) because of the sheer levels of disappointment in this game not living up to that. The fact that the sub-series' most recent news was approaching 5 years ago with the launch, and then almost immediate demise of a 4th entry to a series that had not seen a full title for 10 years before that...doesn't help. The fact that the series in general has recently been neglected by Capcom, and that the last full title released in the West developed by Capcom that bore the 'Mega Man' name was Mega Man 10 in 2010, 5 years ago...and that the only official appearances that weren't crossovers and cameos since then was a severe disappointment and only on Japanese iOS devices in 2011...doesn't help. A lot of Mega Man fansites have sunk in the last 5 years. The ones that are left struggle to get excited over bobblehead toys, mystery gachas, and the musings of a man who is no longer part of Capcom in any way. The sign out front might say "Forum", but this isn't a forum. This is a friendship club where we have weekend chats and Secret Santa exchanges and much of what goes on really is only tangentially related to Legends. Certainly we all got here because of Legends, but that's hardly enough to keep a community together anymore. As it's less of a forum and more of a clubhouse, it's really important to participate in the events and the discussions, and try to actively engage. The member count might say 500-something but there's really only 40-50 of us that cycle in and out over the course of the month. After you've lurked for a week, you've seen just about everyone. We're completely open to new 'members' of the 'forum', and we'd love new voices being heard, but so many people fall away because there's this idea of what a forum should be, and a place where over the course of a week, the only thing that might happen is 5 people have a conversation about "the point at which adding more mayonnaise detracts from a sandwich instead of enhancing it" and a picture of 2 Legends characters fighting over Hellmann's vs. Miracle Whip...it doesn't quite fit. It's completely viable. It's all about being very lucky and very knowledgeable on the behaviour of the game. Studying speedruns and practicing on emulators will help you a lot in refining your strategy. I'm also really interested in doing something in the roleplaying section if anyone's up for it. You might be able to have a small RP with the current RP section maintainer, and perhaps 1-2 others interested. There generally don't seem to be that many people into RPing right now, but it's possible that that is from a lack of engaging / enticing scenarios and game moderating. Really excited to be here, hope to stick around until Capcom gets around to MML3, and then some. We wouldn't have it any other way. The paperwork to finalize the registration ritual definitely operates on the same timeframe, although it eschews any ambiguity and just says that you're enslaved for all time made an offer you can't refuse. EDIT: Oh, and obligatory plug for turning on Advanced Mini-Profiles in the Terraformer 2 settings page. It's a completely optional visual enhancement whose default is off as part of a compromise for having it in the first place.

Hi, and welcome to MMLS! I'm a fairly new member here myself (just a few months), but hopefully my welcome also counts. It's been an all time favorite of mine, and I'm honestly surprised that the community is so small... (No offense!) At first I was surprised, too! But like Chiz already said, there are a lot of activities. As for me, though, I mostly stay in the writing section. I can't effectively take part in the visual arts related stuff, because I'm visually impaired , but you shouldn't have this problem. I find roleplaying to be fun in itself, but I think my interests have been more limited to attempting canon ones instead of OC-powered ones. Yes, this is what I also think. It's since the time I joined that I've been considering taking part in an RP, but the RP section was pretty quiet and the past RPs were mostly about original characters . I'd also prefer to stick to canon characters if possible. What's your idea?

Oh, is it my turn to deliver the paperwork? Hold on, I need to dock the barge! I'm not so sure the Legends series is very polarizing anymore, at least in terms of content. It did make the "Vindicated by History" TV Tropes page, albeit not exactly in the way I'd have liked (which involved Legends 3 becoming the top selling Mega Man game of all time and then getting so many sequels and promo merch that I could retire without worrying about killing MMLS in the process). We may not be too big, but we're definitely a consistent group. In terms of unadulterated lasting power, we've got the others beat. A bunch of the regs have been here for ten years! Which means of course that we're all crazy Don't let a thing like that deter you from posting, though. I like when new people make the effort to join in the fun. In fact, I've got a serious offer on the table about anyone exceeding my post count getting to request me to sing any song in Mega Man's voice, no matter how difficult or lyrically unfitting it may be. New blood does wonders to stimulate that kind of conversation. The correct answer to "at what point does adding more mayonnaise detract from a sandwich instead of enhancing it" is naturally "the point at which any mayonnaise is added," by the way. Guac and hummus both function in the same manner and taste better. Add me to the pile who'd be more interested in a canon-only RP than in an OC one, too. I've been hanging around in the writing section for a while and I'm almost wrapped up with my project. It's not like all the good characters are going to get snapped up in a place like this. You'd have more trouble getting someone to play the mains instead of someone really obscure. You could also probably finagle the prompt into canon too: Bluecher runs an ad to bring together a group of diggers to unearth a treasure for a sizeable sum of money and spots for them from the Sulphur Bottom. It would make it easy to excuse any of the Casketts or Bonnes running solo for this, too. I think that's why so many RPs around here try to do the OC thing. You'd need a strong group to carry characters who usually roll together or you'd need to main up to three people on your own. Definitely something to think about.

You like the night? I like the night too! A quick backstory on my username: There's a webcomic called Bob and George, and it's based off of megaman. This page specifically spoke to me:http://www.bobandgeorge.com/archives/020310c Garudoriten's a pretty legit threat alright, but he still kinda falls victim to the "run in circles and shoot!" method, except against him, you're a bit forced to add jumping on top of that method so your shots can actually reach his head. And to know when to jump when/if he gets too close to the edge of the room so's you can avoid the shockwave when he leaps back to the center of the room. Indeed, the only problem is, he deals an obscene amount of damage, so practicing against him is impractical when you die in two hits. Learning the timing is tough when you're dead... I'm going to just max the health next run and practice until I can beat him consistently. (As a side note, Marlwolf is a really fun fight once you get the timing right, jumping on top and throwing a dozen mines in is so satisfying after always getting the powered buster in my casual runs.) As it's less of a forum and more of a clubhouse, it's really important to participate in the events and the discussions, and try to actively engage. The member count might say 500-something but there's really only 40-50 of us that cycle in and out over the course of the month. After you've lurked for a week, you've seen just about everyone. (Also, I'm gonna need a link to that discussion...XD) Hi, and welcome to MMLS! I'm a fairly new member here myself (just a few months), but hopefully my welcome also counts. It's never too early to make someone feel welcome! We may not be too big, but we're definitely a consistent group. In terms of unadulterated lasting power, we've got the others beat. A bunch of the regs have been here for ten years! Which means of course that we're all crazy Don't let a thing like that deter you from posting, though. New blood does wonders to stimulate that kind of conversation. Wow, 10 years. *slowclaps* That's quite a milestone! Congrats! And don't worry, to quote the Chessire Cat, "We're all mad here!" And as far as that exceeding your post count, just wanted to confirm that spamming is bad? Because otherwise you'll be singing before the week's up! (JK, spamming is bad, I know this already.) And boy, people want a non OC RP huh? I'm willing to give anything a go, but here's my ground rules: It takes place before legends 2, NOT during legends 1, and it doesn't do anything to alter the stories in either game. (I feel that mml 1 and 2 are complete stories, and I don't want to do anything inside of the time frame of the games. I also hold on tho the sliver of hope that Nintendo will buy out Capcom and give us Legends 3, since Capcom clearly has no intention to. As such, Nothing post MML2, I want actual canon, not headcanon.) Other than that, I'll cook up a few ideas and put them all up in the RP section, and see which generates the most interest!

The correct answer to "at what point does adding more mayonnaise detract from a sandwich instead of enhancing it" is naturally "the point at which any mayonnaise is added," by the way. Unfortunately, you're wrong. There is no upper limit to how mayonnaise improves sandwiches, and thus should be liberally applied as though you were icing a cake. The real problem is that once you cross the threshold of the sandwich being 50% mayonnaise, you have sandwich-flavoured mayonnaise, not mayonnaise-flavoured sandwich, and the addition of the sandwich detracts from the taste of the mayonnaise! Yes, I have eaten mayonnaise with a spoon directly from the container. Don't judge me! (Also, I'm gonna need a link to that discussion...XD) You're in it, right now. I've got a serious offer on the table about anyone exceeding my post count getting to request me to sing any song in Mega Man's voice, no matter how difficult or lyrically unfitting it may be. New blood does wonders to stimulate that kind of conversation. And as far as that exceeding your post count, just wanted to confirm that spamming is bad? Because otherwise you'll be singing before the week's up! It's a lie! I tried claiming that offer once, and she pointed out how my post count was clearly lower than hers. I counter argued that my swag makes up the difference, and then she stopped talking to me for a week.

Don't listen to Chiz, EOTN. Eoten? Eaton? Eating? Eh, we'll figure out a way to make EskimoOfTheNight roll more easily off the tongue, don't worry. The thread you're looking for is here. This mayonnaise debate is WAY too important to bury it someplace like an intro thread. It's sad, Chiz is the SECOND person I know of who eats mayo by the spoonful. Butter I can understand, especially when emulsified with brown sugar and a pinch of vanilla extract, but mayo is a no go.

Seeing Dashe find a way to shorten EskimoOfTheNight made me think of the word Eskimo by itself. Then it made me think of this video.
It turns into an interesting tune / beat closer to the end. Fun to listen to.

Haha, I usually go by EoTN, short for Eskimo of The Night, occasionally Eskimo, a few times EToN when people mis-type, and only once Eskim. I like to start off all formal, with my full username, then shorten it later when I get tired of typing in the full version. Proboards did something interesting when I was signing up, it had me give a username and a display name, my user name is EoTN, my display is eskimoofthenight, I'll probably end up condensing down to EoTN shortly.
That video was rather interesting. I expected it to become more normal when the third guy showed up... It was interesting for sure.

Hi Eskimo! I'm Rockman Striker, nice to meet you. I've recently started my own MML2 speedrun attempt, but just as always I spend the first half hour watching cutscenes... I guess it can't be helped, my speedrun turned up again into a long play, I'll try to get a100% instead.

I guess it can't be helped, my speedrun turned up again into a long play, I'll try to get a100% instead. Good evening Striker! Pleased to make your acquaintance! GL on your 100%. You gonna answer all the questions in the quiz, or just pay up? A bit of progress on my MML run, I'm finally able to beat Garudoriten! The trick apparently is that if you jump while standing still, you can move backwards while in the air. Good to know, makes it more consistent. You can get him to flinch twice before jumping if you're quick and acurate about it, eight shots doesn't sound like much, but his hitbox is finicky and his armor blocks a lot of shots that look like they should hit... For a while I was considering learning the Legends 1 100% route. It only takes about 2 hours on easy, which is crazy since there's a LOT going on. Also, it's a LOT safer going against Juno with max health and max buster, as well as the ultimate armor and helmet...

Good evening Striker! Pleased to make your acquaintance! GL on your 100%. You gonna answer all the questions in the quiz, or just pay up? I've already got the first key, and for the first time I've got all the prizes from the quizzes, including the zetsabre, I've answered all 100 questions for it, yes I'm that smart! Well, to be honest I've cheated, I used save states on the emulator for the medium and hard quizzes, the easy one was completed mostly by trial and error. I guess I really can't be helped XP

I voted for "1-on-1" only because I'm an equalist at heart. Don't take it too serious. Howdy, Eye of the North EskimoOfTheNight! I'd wager I'm a tad late to the party, but it'd hardly be fitting to not greet you! *Yawns* Looks like everyone else has gone into massive detail about our eccentricities, huh? Saves me the need to!
