Hello world! My name is Alex, but I go by many different monikers it seems, looks like it will be McBelch for this site.
I have been a Megaman Legends fan for a very long time, since 2002 or so I believe. It all started when I went over to my dad's house for a weekend visit when I was around 8 years old, and I saw a game sitting on the TV stand. "Megaman Legends?" It was called. I have only knew of Megaman through the Battle Network games, and was not aware of the many different kinds of Megaman games, so I just thought that it was a different story involving Lan and Megaman.exe. It definitely was different than Battle Network, with a world covered by endless water, airships, and underground exploring. But a quite a few things were immediately familiar to me. Mainly there being a Megaman, a Roll, and a Mega Buster to take down enemies. Needless to say, I was intrigued by this game, and played it as much as I possibly could that weekend.
Needless to say, my love for the Legends series has never diminished, and still eagerly await for Legends 3(despite its cancellation). Come on, 10+ years on the moon must be BORING.
Anyhow, hello! Surprised I haven't found this site sooner.

Oh ho? I'm surprised that I am not the only one to have a Battle Network Experience when first playing Legends. Well to be fair, I only knew the anime and barely touched the games before knowing Legends (to one point where I thought that Roll talking to you in the tutorial ruins was actually Lan, for example). It's interesting to have another person's opinion.
If I may ask, what exactly drove you to like Legends? For me it was around 2008 but I can't remember very well, all I know is that I love it. But it is interesting to like the story of endless water and underground ruins more than the world of cyberspace and Internet battling. To be honest I still don't know why I always place Legends in first and Battle Network in second because I am such a tech-freak.
Anyway, I guess that wasn't too good of a welcome uh? Let me try to make it up... *ahem* MegaTuga here, member of MMLS for God knows how much (because He can check it and I don't feel like it), As a Legends fan I welcome you to this corner of the internet. Now, I advise you to come prepared with pens of varied colors and a resistant arm to write because soon enough you will be showered with membership paperwork to take care of. I would love to help you but my hands are still sore so you are on your own. Good luck!

McBelch is an awesome name. Welcome to MMLS! Feel free to incite plenty of conversation. We've got a few other new people here who seem to enjoy talking, which is awesome. As for me, I'm Dashe. I do a lot of things, and one of them involves running this place. I thought my love for Legends would have diminished by now, but no. The last time I replayed it I went in with no expectations and it still held up really well. The fact that it's been in development hell for fourteen years now is very not fair. You should also hook yourself up with an avatar because they're awesome and all the cool kids have them. And Tuga, your fifth MMLSiversary is in three months. Due to your high post count, that'll net you a badge. I was wondering when I'd ascend to godhood around here. This needs to go in the Book of Chiz. Yes, McBelch, that's what happens when you post a lot...you'd get a badge five years from now! Get to it!

Yes! That's exactly what I thought when I first played the game. I thought Megaman Trigger was Lan for a while, because of that hair thing he has going on. But to be fair, they do have similar hair styles.
And as for what garnered my interest in Legends? I think there were quite a few variables. One of which was that it was a 3D free roaming megaman game, which was a bit different than the Battle Network games(which was also free roaming, but on an isometric field). Also, I liked the fact that the fights took place in real time, you know. Didn't cut away to another screen and break the action.
But I think my favorite thing that allured me to Legends WAS the setting in fact. Crash landing on an island, and going on an adventure uncovering the island's mysteries. Also, how can you NOT like the Bonnes? Goofy group of pirates who just can't seem to be taken seriously by the player.
I remember as soon as I finished the first game, my mom stopped by a Slackers store(yeah, REMEMBER THEM?) and I saw a copy of Legends 2 for either 10 or 20 bucks. Had to get it! Glad I did. Look at what the price for a used copy of Legends 2 is now!
And what paperwork? D: Pens? Do I have to send a facsimile?
Also thanks Dashe! And I'll get right on that, I got myself a snazzy little MML icon on my youtube channel that'll work juuuuuuust fine here. And as for the development hell that is Legends 3(yes I'll it a development hell even though its technically NOT in development right now), I will never give up hope on there being a conclusion to the series. That's all I really want!

Hello beautiful people of MMLS. You think I'm beautiful? Okay, fine, I'll waive the introduction forms this time around. Don't tell Chiz. Welcome to MMLS! Glad to see another new face join the forums! Sorry you couldn't dodge the paperwork! I'll admit, I think most of us here have played Legends back when we were much younger than we are now. My experiences with the game were completely fresh without any prior Megaman to go on, so for the most part, I thought it was odd that a boy in Blue Armor could run around a city of seemingly normal people and those people not find it abnormal at all. If I saw someone with spikey brown hair and blue armor run past me in my town today though, I'd chase after him to shake his hand. Hope you have a wonderful stay here at MMLS!

I was more curious as to why the grandfather had freaking ROBOT EYES.
Thanks for the welcoming. :>

Unless it's in some extremely obscurely placed dialogue, I don't think it's actually mentioned ingame.
But, it definitely didn't stop TauVertex and his friends from making a pun on it. They turned Legends into a traffic light, with Barrel being at the bottom with his green eyes, a servbot being in the middle due to their yellow heads, and Teisel being at the top because of his red eyes.
I don't think Teisel's red eyes are explained anywhere either. They're just... there. Certainly makes him stand out.

It's probably just easier to dig with robot eyes than it is to dig with glasses. Too many hazards underground, you know? The welcome thread explains the paperwork joke a bit. It's like hazing, but better, because you don't have to worry about waking up duct taped to the fountain in your underwear or anything absurd like that. We may be a little rough around the edges sometimes but we're not barbarians, you know. Basically, it's an in-joke that everyone gets to be in on once they've been the butt of it.

Well, since I am a super nerd. I went onto the Megaman wiki(don't know how accurate the info on there is), and it says that the people in Megaman Legends aren't human, but Carbons rather, which are like artifical humans, capable of having parts of their body swapped out with robot ones. This is why you see Megaman and Teisel, and other characters with robot bodies, and probably explains why Barrel has those robot eyes. megaman.wikia.com/wiki/CarbonAlso, I made sure to read that welcome thread before posting in. I just wasn't 100% percent sure if it really was a joke!

Welcome welcome welcome! I'm yui, I'm new also, but I've moved in quite well. I'm not done with my paperwork still, but I assure you it's not too hard. Just time consuming. After unpacking some of my boxes, I started some fun topics to join in if you'd like. There's also a Super Smash Bros. topic if you like that game. Now that it's out, I'm sure there are plenty of things to discuss.
If you like music, I'll always be ready to throw down some debates or discussion. I'm also always interested in the Megaman Timeline, especially Carbons. The whole idea of a new human is so enthralling. It's similar to Simulated Reality, which is also neat. I recommend looking into it.

Welcome to the forums! I kinda had the same experience when I first played Legends 2 after being introduced to the series through MM8. Was wondering where Dr. Light was, and why you didn't change colors when equipping new weapons. Then you have that moment where everything clicks and you're like, "oh, these games all run in a separate series".
