)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Update News (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( *Updated to Version 2* - Alright, a few things have been changed, a bit of text and images thanks to Dashe's proofread and suggestions. I have however made a conclusion recently that I should have realised before updating my youtube template: Making it sound to professional ends up making it sound like an advertisment. We do NOT want it to sound perfect, pre-written or like an ad. So now I have to go back and redo the youtube template. Help me out: Im still looking for someone with website coding experience for a list of different webpost formats like bbcode with thier corresponding syntax for various functions. I need codes for text functions like italics, bold and underline (though I beleive these are mostly the same on multiple formats), and codes for image embeddeding aswell as link-in-text embedding, and video embedding. Thank you very much, all contributions will be mentioned in an update as they arise.
))))))))))))))))))))))) Forum Promotion Template V1.5 (((((((((((((((((((((((
This is a forum promotion template that I have created and been using to promote the legends 3 movement. If you have forums you visit regularily, or any forums you can think of to promote on, go to thier off-topic or relevant section, start a new thread and paste the information following the template preview below. When you are done any necessary edits (Before entering this on a form, read the WARNING and notes 1 & 2), hit the "post thread" option/enter the thread on to the forum! --> Keeping Track: Thanks to one of our treasured Legends Station members, Avegodro, a thread has been created to keep a log of all the post work made on other sites. Please refer to this thread to check and make sure a post hasn't already be made on the forum/website you wish to use this template on. Also it is highly reccomended that you post places you have already promoted in the comments section so it can be added to the list (I will be having a brief discussion about this with Avegodro in a bit to see if hes up for keeping an up-to-date list on his initial post, if he can't, i'll figure something out)
-->One Place Strategy Station: I have put up a blog that will be a collective of strategies for a one place, easy reference to multiple effective strategies created by myself and additional authors. At the present date, im thinking it will be a single post with links and descriptions to different strategies. The blog will likely gain other purposes aswell in the future. Check it out, here. Instructions:
WARNING: DO NOT use the template to spam. Make ONE topic in the appropriate section PER FORUM, and if an administrator deletes it, don't make another one. Do not make mutiple posts on one forum site and if you put it in the wrong section, go back, delete it and repost it in the right one. Most admins will move the thread to the appropriate section but some wont. Go out of your way to avoid making that mistake! If you spam this template, your going to end up getting banned, making our cause look immature and bogus. Additionally, the mml threads will likely get deleted ruining the purpose of posting there in the first place! Bump the thread only where forums allow it (bumping means making a post, saying bump or something else, that will bring the topic to the top of the list for that section). Some forums have rules against this, other forums, bumping doesnt work on them because of how they display threads. I would advise not to spam bumps, im going to be bumping mine every 7 days on threads that need it.
Note #1: When using this template, please be aware not all forums allow the same type of image codes. Essentially, while the img code might work on one forum, it may not work on another. If this is the case, use the appropriate image embedding formats that the forum allows. I will hopefully have a code guide for this thread at a later date. There are a lesser amount of forums that dont even allow for the embedding of images and videos, in which case I reccomend one of two things
1) Posting the information without the images
2) Create a 3rd section, adding it to the index, call it pictures. Remove the image codes and thier respective links from the thread so it looks logical. Then, add this after section 2:

http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc520/whitefiredemon/megaman%20legends%203/Megaman-Legends-3-Project-1.jpg
Note #2: On some forums, its not just images and video embedding thats disabled, but all code entirely. This means that codes like b will not work, and often they will display on the finished thread like regular text. Before posting this thread on ANY site, always make use of the "Preview" option if they have one, so that you can see how the finished thread will look and can edit it accordingly. Please use common sense, if code is being displayed in the finished thread, fix it or delete it. Keep the thread looking nice! Crappy looking threads with codes all over will make our movement seem spamish or immatue.
The following is a preview of what the finished thread will look like when you post it, the code for the template will be posted after it:

Screenshots of the Megaman Legends 3 Prototype
For those of you who have, and havnt heard of this project:
Not to long ago Keiji Inafune announced Megaman Legends 3, the third installment in the main series, would be in production in a state that wasnt completely greenlit. A prototype was announced to appear in the 3ds eShop aswell. Priced at only two dollars, it would have determined whether the game would recuperate production costs and dictate wether a full game would be released. The legends 3 project opened devrooms on capcom unity for different countries. Users got to be a part of the entire game making process, they submitted and voted on character and revearbot designs, tons of contests were held, everything from voice actors to easter eggs were fan suggested and created. Even more recently, capcom cancelled development of the game without even releasing the prototype. However, capcom has definately not red-lit the project and have left the north american/international devrooms open. The official capcom recognized petition can be found here:

Since the games cancellation, a massive movement has grown. Collaboration efforts from various megaman legends sites have also been created and they have been uniting fans from all countries and have even had success joining fanbases with japan.
The largest movement can be found here:
www.facebook.com/Getmeoffthemoon
They currently have over 51, 000 members. Thier official blogspot site was linked above for the servebot instructions. You can watch for news on that site or in the facebook groups notes section. The people who run this group have been putting up comic con booths accross the globe, taking money out of thier own pockets for this cause. One fan even had an article written about him because he payed for an ad for the revival of Megaman Legends 3 in the local newspaper. I personally will be printing and lamenating at least 100 fliers for my city. The member count of the group goes up by 100 people every 2-3 days. You can contribute alot just by simply joining the facebook group!
You can also check out www.Legends3.com for things you can do, such as additional petitions. They also offer a single convenient page for promotion, with 6 different links that lead to the facebook group, the blogspot site, capcoms petition and other movements.

Mind if I proofread these, too? They'll definitely get a lot more people's attention if everything's spelled properly. It's what I do. It's what I live for. To help poor, unfortunate merfolk, such as yourself. Also, this is assuming the board you're at uses bbcode, right? It's pretty standard, but there are some places that use different code for their forums, like Capcom Unity. Actually, Capcom Unity is the only place where the code is different, but you never really know.

Yes, go ahread. I more than agree! Infact I was going to say in the thread that if anyone want to proofread this for errors, that would be much aprreciated.. but forgot. lmao. im incredibly busy. Now for the second part of that "paragraph", where you say "It's what I do. It's what I live for. To help poor, unfortunate merfolk, such as yourself" Look, dashe, hun.. in regards to this demeaning attitude you take with everyone.. im just going to say this... and leave it at that.. You need to either get some help running legends station, or give yourself a break. I think that is what this is about.. Hun, how long have you been on this forum? Sometimes sweetie, it gets to a point where you just can't do it anymore and you need a break. Okay? I know your a legends fan like the rest of us, but you don't have to tear your life apart to keep this forum running. You don't have to work so hard to prove yourself to people, especially being a girl I know it makes it that much harder. But you know something cool? The inventor of the computer program was infact, female. Her name was Ada Lovelace. Spend less time trying to prove yourself, and more time trying to pay attention to your own feelings. Spend more time loving yourself and doing what you REALLY want to do. Okay? You will acheive a flawless feeling of tranquility and security when you let go of those fears.
Also, Dashe, you didnt even follow your OWN rules! Lmao. I mentioned everything you just said here (your second paragraph) in the post about the use of codes on different forums. I covered everything from that, to spam, how forums work and what bumping is and how it works.

That's a quote from The Little Mermaid. :-\ I can't believe you took a quote from a Disney movie at face value and then gave me a lecture on it. I'm actually really amused. Semantics aside, I'll get on that proofreading.

As much as I'd LOVE to hit zmania with a Disney-stick, I gotta say that this is one of most productive things I've ever seen on the Station. And I think that's saying something.... I'm not actually sure.
Regardless, this template is great. Good work, zmania!

Hey Zmania, that's a great post and a great idea! Despite that, I really don't appreciate how you've snapped at Dashe, she's willing to help you out with this stuff and you give her a lecture on a Disney quote. You may not have known it was a quote, but that's not the point. The point is the fact you're PUBLICLY giving her flack. It's not cool- She may be a little rough around the edges, but she means well. Plus she's an admin, have a little respect.

That's a super-comprehensive template there, zmania! If it can be properly spreaded around an effective number of forums, I could see it becoming quite useful to getting the amount of manpower we need. ;D @spec: Um, actually, Spec, most of those people (with the exception of N, who last I heard stopped participating in MML stuff) are/were members of MMLS before. Halcyon was even a member of MMLS before the Devroom, I think, and Ben/General Specific are both members too, though both are working on separate projects now. SIM of course runs MLU and still helps out at the Devroom, so at least most of those guys seem to have their plates full with their own matters. : ( As for the admin taking a break, well...I dunno, there's not much of a problem here I think. : o Let's not all jump on the bandwagon and start pointing fingers at people; I'm sure everything will resolve itself if everyone gives each other some breathing room, y'know? After all, a mutual 'cool-down' period doesn't hurt, right? : )

EDIT: Thank you all for the support. I am creating a blogspot site that will be used as a collective of promotional strategies from myself and various other authors. This is the current blogspot site: 3z-mania.blogspot.com/ drop by and let me know what you think so far, remember, its still under construction! Therefore it doesn't have any content yet, only the basic page is done. The content should be up by the end of tonight and I will have a strategy wriiten for flier creation at a later date, im hoping, by tomorrow. I have already signed up to 20 different random forums that I will be using this template on, but I will await dashe's proof read before posting them, since english is a skill she resonates quite strongly with! Kudos Dashe, my apologies for earlier I didn't realise it was a little mermaid quote XD I think we just got off on the wrong foot but me and her are getting along fantastic now. Moving on.. I encourage users to do the same in regards to forum promotion, it would be a great help to me because I have alot of projects im working on. Please try to keep logs and remember not to spam. If your on a forum its a good idea to enter a search for megaman legends before posting, who knows, even if theres no template posted you might get to meet some other megaman legends fans and bring them into our movement if they arnt apart of it already! So theres that added benefit to make the work more interesting for you instead of just searching to see if the templates been posted. Its always good to have be a part of the community, id remind you to be friendly but for most of the people on here I have noticed that trait comes quite naturally =D Hats off to our wonderful community here and on facebook. Last but certaintly not least: Thank you dashe so much for the proofreading, I greatly appreciate it. Glad to be a team, im looking forward to the many future projects we will undertake together.

Here you go, fresh out of the oven. I nixed the rocket picture, since it wasn't an in-game screenshot, and then swapped out the picture of the Legends 2 disc art for something more representative of the game. That art was actually one of the reasons the Legends games didn't sell as well stateside as they could have, especially with Legends 1, which really had a bigger emphasis on community and story than on fighting bosses. I also think, for the template assuming the boards allow for images within posts, the promotional pictures could be put to use in other ways, like creating a brilliant header for the post so the subject stands out instead of just scattering them about, since they're very easy to find if you google Legends 3. If someone with time on their hands and Photoshop skills could step up to bat and create a standout header using those promo images, that would be phenomenal. About 700-800 pixels across by no greater than 400 pixels down would look pretty slick. I recommend keeping all the images in these threads the same size so it's easier on the eyes, and perhaps punctuating it with this image of Data dancing. Who wouldn't want to revive a game with a cute dancing monkey?
Here's what the revised post looks like at this stage. There's still a bit of reformatting that could be done, and it could definitely use a header, but it gets the point across: About a year ago Capcom announced Megaman Legends 3 had finally made it into production. This game series was different from any other Mega Man series on the market, and was a personal favorite of the developers. The second and apparently final installment was released in 2000 for the Sony Playstation and ended in a cliffhanger. In an unprecedented move for the gaming industry, they opened up developer rooms in North America and Japan to allow the fans who'd waited so long just to hear the rest of the story to help decide on different aspects of the game. Fans could design enemies and bosses, vote on character designs, make up personalities for townspeople, and were encouraged to openly discuss what they hoped to see in the game as the developers posted a daily chronicle of their progress. It wasn't until months later that those fans soon found out that the game hadn't been completely greenlit, as they'd been led to believe until then. A prototype was planned to be released for the 3DS eShop at launch to determine whether the game would perform well on the market. Capcom stated that this prototype's sales would determine whether Megaman Legends 3 would make it into the full-fledged production stage. Unfortunately, before it had the chance to prove itself on the market, Capcom's executives decided for themselves that the venture wasn't worth pursuing and cancelled the prototype. The fans were outraged--many bought a 3DS just so they could support the Prototype! The Japanese Devroom was locked down immediately, but Capcom of America, who has actually voiced their support for the project, has left the International Devroom forums open. The official Capcom-recognized petition can be found here.In order to add your signature, you'll also need to register for the Devroom--instructions can be found here. When Capcom announced the game's cancellation, fans sprung to action on Facebook and created 100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Megaman Legends 3. Their international team has been hard at work establishing ties with the Japanese fanbase and learning more about the executives who cancelled the project without giving it a fair shot. You can contribute a lot just by liking this Facebook page. They currently have over 51,000 members. You can watch for news in their facebook group's notes section. Alright, thanks Dashe, never a dull moment! I agree and I will be replacing the legends 2 art with your data contribution, I know its bad but I was trying to get it done. I am often in rush mode because im trying to promote the cause quickly on the premise the faster we get the fans, the better it would look to capcom.
Ernyway, I am updating the content right now, btw, where DID that rocket image come from? Because its a phenomenal image. I kinda disagree. As for the moment, im not going to do anything with the other images, because I want people to get hooked up in the eye candy, with the subliminal note of a "collage" theme that gives people a feeling of a collective movement. Thats how I feel when I look at it, Maybe I am feeling too nostalgic and the way I see those images and others do, are different and, maybe in reality it doesnt look professional. But I dont know if im capable of letting that feeling go with this one. XD.. With the slight exception of the mml2 CD case.. which.. honestly, a cute dancing monkey would be 100 times more effective promotionally anyways...
I think the header is an excellent idea, besides, we could never stop having a use for art like that. Even if I don't particularily want to use it for this, someone will find a need for it. Anyone who is great with photoshop dont be afraid to make a peice! There are always tons of future projects that we all could use the art for.

The image with the rocket is from a meter that was on the Japanese devroom, showing the developers' progress on Legends 3. It started with a black and white blueprint of the rocket, and then eventually turned into a 3D model, but it stopped at 29% for obvious reasons. :-\ Capcom, Capcom, Capcom... If you check the URL I subbed in for the Legends 2 pic, it actually leads to a screenshot from Legends 2, so people could see the gameplay, since you seem to be essentially comparing it to Legends 3's gameplay screens. In fact, all of the screenshots are now from boss battles, which is pretty great for drawing parallels and picking out differences. Data's just there to punctuate the message and look cute and marketable.

Thanks Dash, I really like the idea of having boss screenshots, I think this is a huge highlight for the game. Thier boss battles and scales are phenomenal and attractive. And on an off note, Megaman looks so delicious in this picture <3
Anyways ive been thinkin this morning and if someone wants to get on a header, I might bend more towards that instead of my nostalgic collage. Its hard figuring out what to do with this thing, I kinda like it the way it is, but I dunno, either way I dont know if I have time to work on making a header of my own. I gotta write my reference post for the blog, get the fliers done + make a guide, start on this video script, get caught up with school, and play gunz w/ a couple friends that keep buggin me to go on everyday. They might be helping with my viral video idea too. plus a meeting with some random people later.
Oh and I updated my post above your proofread.

Heh, that looks like spam. I'm glad to see people don't see it that way.
