I like the station, it being the best legends site out there. Yet I don't feel like a true legends fan. I have beaten MML1 twice, MML1 only once and I haven't finished Misadventures yet.
I enjoy the entire setting and love to pick apart the story to speculate. Legends is my favorite of the robotics timeline games.
I was stunned yet excited when MML3 was annouced. Things have changed since then. I'm still excited and willing to fight for this game, but I feel like an untrained peasant facing off against a tank.
I don't draw fanart, write fanfiction or anything like that. All I do is collect data and artwork. I can't even think of a good idea for any of the events.
I probably sound like an idiot but all well. Dosen't change the fact I don't feel like a real legends fan.

Why should drawing stuff or writing crappy stories define you as a 'true' fan? Hell, what IS a 'true fan'? You love the series, you play the games... just because you're not a fanatic like some of the people here who dedicate big projects and work to this site and the stuff here doesn't mean you're any less of a fan than they are.
Bottom line, don't think so much about it.

Hah Ave, sometimes I feel that way too. The most important thing to remember is to "Just be true to you, yourself, and follow where your heart leads you."Honestly, I can't make any REAL artwork, and just because I have some skills in beating up Sera with some OCD button pushing doesn't really mean anything to the game itself; although it's good for a few laughs. Continue enjoying the series, continue showing the Station that you care, and everything will be alright. I honestly know nothing about any other bit of the Megaman Series besides Legends, and the tiniest spec of the Zero series, and I'm still an obvious true legends fanboy.

It doesn't matter how long you've been into Legends, and it isn't your fault you didn't play any of the games in 2000. The notion of anyone being more of a Legends fan than anyone else is kind of silly, unless you're an ad-SPAMmer who has never even heard of the series and just wants to plug some random site about coupons or fashion games.
As long as you care about Legends, then you're a Legends fan, period. There shouldn't be any delineation between diehards, old guards, people who just heard about the series yesterday, watched all the YouTube playthroughs and fell in love, and what have you. A Legends fan is a Legends fan is a Legends fan.

Didn't expect so much feedback while on iScribble thanks guys.
Its just I want to do more for the community but I can't seem to find a way to do it. I want to fight for MML3 but my mind draws a blank on ideas or comes up with an idea and stays unfinished.
I've tried to kill off my artistic gift for personal reasons awhile back and I just can't seem to find the will to do any art half the time. I had the idea of what I'm drawing now for over 3 months and I think I've messed it up.
I want to make video games for a living which means I need to be more creative in many fields like writing.
I just feel so useless when comes to this stuff anymore. Maybe I'm being to hard on myself again.

Maybe I'm being to hard on myself again. This. The only thing I don't think I've ever been all that hard on myself about was martial arts. EVERYTHING else I continually question myself over. Gotta stop it or you'll cripple yourself.

I think it's something that evolves over time. At first I thought the game was cheesy. Then I liked it. Then I found this place and felt I could be part of a community with the game. Then I started telling all of my friends about it and I was really interested in it. Later I felt I could call myself a fan. Then, I dropped $160 on some plastic models from the game without hesitation and realized I had moved on to being a true fan, one of the few and the proud.

No such thing as a true fan, people who call themselves that are just being snobs, if you like something, you're a fan. Regardless of how involved you are in the fandom, you are still like everyone else, enjoying the series.
The difference is like in the last US election when Palin started tossing out "True American" The word true implies that the rest are false.

Anybody body who would say you arn't a true fan is just stuck up. The fact that you post here as much as you do, that makes you a fan.

I think there is a difference between true fan and plain ol' fan. If it's a temporary interest, you're just a fan. If the interest is a part of your memories to the point where it's a permanent part of your character, I think the title true fan is appropriate since the fandom will clearly never go away completely.

I shouldn't let these little flames of self-doubt and worthlessness in the dark little recesses of my mind keep me down.
I feel shame in putting this thread up and I know someone here who would smack me for thinking that.
I feel weak, I've let my guard down and I've gotten soft.
These two monthes have taken a toll on me, one day I'm fine the next I'm questioning my every move.
I think after a while this will pass and I'll be back to normal.
Gotta stay strong. keep that resolve solid. Better to burn out than fade away. Live to win till you die, till the light dies in your eyes.
Sorry for being self-doubtful and weak guys. And THANK YOU ALL for the support and feedback, you guys are the most awesome folks I've ever been with. Makes me proud to call myself a legends fan.

I don't feel like a true legends fan. [...] I don't draw fanart, write fanfiction or anything like that. All I do is collect data and artwork. I can't even think of a good idea for any of the events. I can't draw, I'm not a writer, I'm not particularly creative. Almost every project I've involved myself in as either gone uncompleted ( still trying, Dashe, don't worry) or has died the moment I jumped on-board. I don't feel comfortable doing VA for other projects, tend to be unreliable at what I do feel comfortable with, and the only event (anyone remember the Trivia Corner?) that I put together and ran sorta collapsed on itself. I don't have that much money to my name, and don't own any of the games (*le gasp*), nor any of the merchandise. The most visible thing I've done is act as a moderator, attracting all of the animosity and loathing that goes with it. I should, logically, have absolutely nothing positive to provide the community whatsoever. But...I don't take a whole lot seriously, and, in a conversation with either Pitch or JMC (probably the former), had a bit of fun mocking the Legends series with a batshit-insane theory that everything was a conspiracy. This directly led to me writing Kattelox Times, the non-standard fanfic about the continuing misadventures of Terra in general. Much later, I used the experience I had making websites to create EKP, which is my current claim-to-fame around here. I also had the opportunity back when I first joined to test for MMLEx...I didn't stay in that position for very long, and it taught me a lot about working in 3D and game development (protip: it's a thankless job that sucks more times than not). The point is, don't limit yourself to 'traditional' contributions to MMLS; think about what skills you DO have, what you CAN provide, and provide it; let the 'Legends' part come afterward. You can be useful if you want to be useful, you just have to say what uses you can be used for, even if you think they're useless on the surface. You never know when someone has a bigger plan that could potentially involve you if you allow it and let them know that you could fit into those roles. You say that you collect data and artwork; why not start a gallery or a sort of 'museum' of exhibits? I know there's been a few in the past, but they've never seemed to go anywhere. You like speculating? Then speculate to your heart's desire. Surely there's other things, too, that would be welcomed. Finally, I should point out, there's a number of respected members here that have been 'contributed' beyond their presence and their opinion, and this is fine, too. There's no demand of anyone here to do anything beyond following the rules - which can largely be summarized as 'be respectful' and 'don't make an ass of yourself too much' - so don't be too hard on yourself if you're simply present and opinionated. As long as those opinions aren't pro-Zero.

Wow........just wow that's an eye opener right there. I've been trying to think inside the box. Can't do that anymore, I going to think long and hard on my capabilities now. Then I'm going to push the envelope on them. Thanks Chiz.

Balthazar hit the nail on the head. I do draw a few things MML-based works here and there, and compared to most everyone else here, I'm practically invisible, but it is only there that I find one outlet for my enjoyment of the games- the journey itself is more memorable than the destination when all's said and done . I remember playing the first one a few weeks back and let me tell you, it hasn't changed- I still enjoy the trip, excited by the adventure and feel a little said when I finish it up, but regardless of whether I do projects on the game or not, I still like it, and without a doubt, I'll still like this game to the day I die.
