Hey, heeeey, Mary Shelley's work is awesome. From what I know about Fullmetal Alchemist, that anime was probably based off of Frankenstein. You could write a paper on that, and I bet my socks someone out there already has. Poe I could take or leave, though. Too depressing. Nice post, Loken. Zero is gonna be sooooo mad!

Granted, I had to learn stuff about the characters as well. Loken's a warm-hearted klutz, Dashe is an iron-fisted leader with a short fuse, Ave's from the wacky shack, etc. I love what they think of. My next post is half done btw everybody. edit: well heck, I had no idea she was the mastermind behind FMA. Frankenstein is actually the book we're reading, and although the storyline hidden behind all of the talk of nature and detail is actually quite sad, daunting, and just plain evil; that's still the main problem with the book. the analyzing. I'd rather just READ the damn thing and leave it at that, but English Class is never that easy...

I read the abridged version of Frankenstein. It was so monumentally boring... Him sitting outside the family shack for what... 5 chapters? was REALLY not necessary.
And I can see where FMA might have been based partly on the Frankenstein idea, but it's really based more on a heavily... heavily magically oriented ideal of what Alchemy was. The whole Homunculus thing actually has roots in european mythology IIRC.
But that's all besides the point.
Point is: If I were to decide to jump in, how much back story would I have to read?
Edit: ...I just read the last couple of posts.... It looks like its... I... Ju...Okay... I'm feckin lost ._.;;

Just the summary post on the first page, really. Or the following.
MMLS is a city, but it works like the forums in that you have to register for a citizen's card before you're allowed to do anything in it. You'll get a housing unit, which you essentially make up for yourself--I gave Zero and Bass sleazy little studio apartments, but Fatman gave his party a house to share that's part mechanical workshop.
There's a Class A Ruin on the outskirts of town, and a refractor mine within the city limits that new members use to harvest refractors to pay off their membership fees. New users also have to fill out boring and unnecessary paperwork, but there are also electronic kiosks to expedite the process.
As far as other characters go, Bass is running rampant through the city, and Zero is incognito. A few people suspect he's a robot, but I don't think anyone knows he's a particularly dangerous one yet....most likely because he's been putting on a very convincing masquerade as a girl named Jennifer, and getting really into character.
Ave and Loken have no OCs, and Mikey and Fatman can explain theirs if they'd like. Otherwise, just improv it...though I don't recommend using any weapons within the city limits, and try to keep as much stuff Legends-related as you can for clarity's sake. The former -and- latter almost got Avegodro killed.

- Skye's group just got finished rescuing Ragun and they're all collapsed in a heap near the entrance to the mines due to exhaustion
- Ave just got done pissing off the administration and is going to be a good maintenance boy
- Anima's group is about to reenter the ruins
- Dashe is heading for her admin building to survey the city (cuz who DOESN'T wanna know where big-bad-Dashe is?
- More Zero goodies
Eh, I made a list. Then Dashe's quote If you haven't picked up on it already, yes, Zero is disguised as a girl named Jennifer, and he's really sticking to his character. He just made a post about putting himself in Legends 3--posts are made using computer terminals in the different buildings. He can't wait for feedback. Bass was playing her brother Joey, but he blew his cover and is now running loose through MMLS City, totally un-disguised to try and score his role in the new game. He's going all in this time. and My character's group (i.e, Fatman, Giygas, Laharl, and Isis) are pretty much going about day-to-day stuff. Giygas and Isis are at Fatman's home in the city grounds, while Fatman and Laharl went to find stuff to repair Fatman's Gustaff Mk. II. Laharl's in a store right now, trying to chat it up with a Cokebot. Quick info on them is, Fatman's a Digger from another universe, and Giygas, Laharl, and Isis came with him from said universe. And the Gustaff Mk. II is pretty much Fatman's custom digging machine from said universe (info about the Gustaff Mk. II can be found here). Loken just jumps around from time to time causing mischief as he sees fit. I find it quite comical, and right now he's chilling out in Jenjen's house. In my next post, I'm going to have Anima's group go looking for Fatman for backup in the ruins, since I've decided that behind that translucent door and down the elevator is where the hoards of reaverbots are that need to be fought off. As for Skye's group, I'm not sure yet, but I'm brainstorming with plenty of distractions so something's bound to come to me. Protoman made a brief appearance in the mines to Skye's group thanks to Trege's idea, (mentioning that Joeylikesunicorns [Bass's username] and JenJen [Zero's username] should give up and leave) but disappeared afterwards. It's worth mentioning for future reference. That's pretty much what's going on, although Fatman would have to update his portion. Far as I know, the Gustaff's broken and needs new smelting equipment to be repaired. *goes to reread* :12: awww CRAP. Ninja'd again!

Zero's username is actually JenJenChan. I had to add that extra part for maximum otakuness, since most of the girls who sign up here are as into anime as I am into musicals.

I guess I'll take a look at the first post in the IC and see about getting a post in.
Is there a specific posting order I should be watching out for?

Nah, essentially you have to try to keep up to date with what's happening and plan your actions accordingly. there's no real posting order, everybody does it at their own pace. I've just been taking a break.

I'm still laughing from it. That has the potential to compete with Dashe's JenJen skits in pure raw humor. Good work.

Really? o.0 normally I'm not that funny. Guess when you have inspiration with the new character.
