Before Anime North (which already past, it was during the last weekend of May), I was really excited for the convention, so I decided to watch a few series.
Toradora! One of the best romantic comedies I’ve seen. The first half of the series is very funny, and while the second half retains that mood, there’s a ton of drama added into the mix.
Eden of the East I can’t really describe anything about the series without spoiling it, so all I’ll say is that I marathoned the whole thing in one night. It was definitely interesting enough to hold my attention (11 episodes). Can’t wait to watch the movies (I bought the first but haven’t watched it yet).
Black Butler – Season 1 I was so hooked after one episode. The comedy and mystery elements are really well done imo, plus the animation is beautiful. I got a lot of laughs out of this season!
Black Butler – Season 2 Yikes….I found this season to be absolutely terrible. It departs so much from what made the first season so great.
Summer Wars – I heard good things about this movie, and was thrilled to learn that they would be showing a viewing of it at the convention. Watched it, loved it (everyone in the room seemed to really enjoy it), and bought it the second I got home because it was cheaper online then at the con.

Just finished watching the 40-minute OVA Armored Trooperoid Bottoms (VOTOMS) Finder. It's a slight departure from the gritty war-heavy style in the original storyline, Mellowlink, and Case Irvine, but it was one hell of a ride anyway. Highly recommended, even for those who have not watched the original TV Series.

My brother and I have been watching through Clannad, Clannad After Story and Puella Magi Madoka Magica (oh dear lord). We're also watching (rewatching for me) Macross 7 so he can talk about it during my Macross panel at Otakon. I'm watching Galaxy Express 999 and the original Birdy the Mighty OVA on my own time.

I'm watching Galaxy Express 999 When you finish the TV Series, I highly recommend watching the Movie adaptation, especially if you're a Harlock fan.

TTGL: awesome show, love it, give me a night with Yoko and kill me the next morning I'd be happy! heck i may even Cosplay Kamina one day.
Yattaman 2008: Not bad, but not exactly what I'd call my cup of tea, I love the Yattaman heroes (Ai Kaminari specifically) though so it's worth, the 1970's version is better story-wise, but mecha design 08 has the cake and the icing on it too, imho.
And finally Wall-E: cute movie...not really my thing but still good

I had recently watched My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Now, this is how a cartoon for girls is supposed to be done. The characters are endearing and shown to be more dimensional that one would expect. Plus, the ponies are not obsessed with girly things like shopping, or boys; but about matters that people from all ages and genders can relate to. So guys, you don't have to worry about enjoying this cartoon

On another forum I go to a lot of people like the show guys and girls so I decided to watch a few clips of it on youtube it was actually pretty funny and didn't make me cringe and twitch like I thought it would, better then half the cartoons which rely on randomness they show nowadays they say it's best to begin watching it at Episode 4 though.
(I only watched the clips when no one else was around though to avoid awkward conversation. :06: )

Legend of Galactic Heroes - 30 episodes in and now I understand why my seniors speak so highly of it. One of its main topics is the constant challenge and debate between two main political systems: Democracy and Dictatorship, political conflict and strategy and the massive scale of it all.
While I am aware that it is not everyone's cup of tea with brandy, I highly recommend it to everyone.

Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo: A really enjoyable movie, and I enjoyed the fact that Robin and Starfire SPOILER;finally kissed.
What made me not enjoy as much as I could was the fact that Raven was really nasty to Beast Boy in the movie. No, I'm not even saying it as a shipper. It seemed that even Beast Boy breathing too loudly would make her rage and snap at him. The fan's theory about why she's like this in the movie made sense.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica (oh dear lord) Oh man. This show. I just watched it recently myself. I personally really dislike "moe" shows aimed at adults and hearing this show was not only that but a magical girl anime really put me off. But the phrase "painful deconstruction" got me interested enough to watch it. I was incredibly impressed with the author that he actually managed to pull off SPOILER;a genuinely happy ending for it.I also recently watched Paprika. Crazy dream science by the guy who did Tokyo Godfathers? Yes please. Also, I don't know if this counts, since it's quite old but I recently got a hold of the 4 dvd volumes released for Animaniacs. Now, I watched this as a kid in the 90s, but only barely and it wasn't a favorite of mine at all and my only fond memory of it was the episode with the golden wrapping paper which made me cry(by the way, it still makes me cry), which I didn't even know was an Animaniacs skit until I re-watched it. Now with a fresh look at it, I honestly must say this is probably my favorite cartoon series now. Also a new anime that's caught my interest is Tiger & Bunny. Which is apparently an insane parody of Western super hero stories that looks rather interesting. Anyone catch any of it yet?

I've recently watched the first few episodes of After War Gundam X. Unlike most Gundam series, it doesn't exactly center around a war; instead, it's more of a story about the aftermath of wars, especially when said aftermath happens to be a post-apocolyptic wasteland. It also has who I might say is the most guile Gundam pilot I've ever seen in Garrod Ran.
This is a boy who hijacks mobile suits using only a grappling hook gun, homemade flash bangs, and courage. He's got guts.

@ Fatman: I won't be surprised if there are huge desert biker gangs riding amok either.
It's like AW0015 and 199X (Hokuto no Ken) are part of the same universe!

A Goofy Movie: A highly enjoyable movie where Goofy and Max had father/ son troubles but had sorted it out in the end.
An Extremely Goof Movie: Long story short: Max had to go to college with his friends. Goofy didn't have to suffer from Empty Nest Syndrome for long as he needs to attend college as well to earn a degree so that he could get another job. Big problem: It's the same college as Max's. I really liked the fact that Goofy SPOILER; and Sylvia became a couple.

i jsut got re-isnterested in Teen Titans...Batman Beyond and...it's not 'animated' but thanks to it having 3D rednered sequences: Van-Pires
TT & BB you all know well...
But Van-pires is a LA tv kid-centric show with 3d-rendered mecha sequences really dark-feeling from the 90's where several Vampyric Mecha seek fuel and three Human have to use such dark power to fight them by becoming the "Moto-vaters"
It sounds corny, but, if like me, you like the whole idea of big robot battles, you may see some interest in it, I'm not recommending it though.
As for Batman Beyond and Teen Titans, to be utterly honest: I like DC heroes way better than Marvel, specifically Robin and Starfire but my fave is Terry McGinnus. And i'm using a website to watch the two series.

Just got through the entire movie series for Kara no Kyoukai, and man was it exhilarating. The music, the animation, and the twisted romance between Ryougi Shiki and Kokutou Mikiya are all just magnificent, and memorable.
I think you can still find it on the PSN. If you have access to it, don't hesitate to watch it!
Warnings on the third movie though. There's a rape scene present; quite disturbing, and they don't hold back.
