Ladies and gentlemen of the forums: After some deliberation among the staff, we've collectively decided that since most of us are mature, responsible adults (or have at least had the experience of sitting at a middle school cafeteria table), we're going to considerably tone down Major Infraction #2.
Yes, that means you get to curse. Be warned, however, that if you get carried away and start swearing up a storm just because you can, that still counts as disrespect...and the same goes for explicitly swearing at other members and staff.
For those inevitable members who make it a point to add four-letter words to every sentence they post, we've created a new member group called "Potty Mouth." It functions a bit like "SPAM-Warned." Which means that it can be revoked after an extended period of time if you go for a while without cursing, and whether you've got it or not can definitely factor in if you manage to rack up a good laundry list of infractions.
Thank you, and have a good night.

Holy fart-nuggets! Are you Joshing me? Hmm, it appears I'm a little too used to the censored lang to make any kind of jump. What inspired this bodacious act of unorthodoxy?

Because we be hecka old, yo! DANG! ...
Something like that, I'm assuming. Though it might not have been articulated so eloquently as the above.

Zounds, this could be the start of an unusual chapter for MMLS. Let's hope no one decides to curse till the cows come home Ah, f-f-f-f-f-f-fooey, like anyone's going to get that incensed, anytime soon.

FU CK. There. The ice is officially broken. I'd actually been sneaking in some of the less naughty words into some of my posts before, knowing no one would really even mind.

Whoever decides to curse till the cows come home will be branded with the "POTTY MOUTH" label until I feel like removing it.

Sorry, Buster, I accidentally hit modify instead of quote on your post. My bad. Man, Smokeeye, you're sharp. And yeah, it would -definitely- go both ways with that. Darfox is going for broke with the next announcement. I'm giddy from the thrill of it all as it is, planning a RL party with everyone I know in person who's so much as touched the series with a ten-foot pole when the 24th rolls around, just for the ten-year anniversary. It's only a matter of time before we all snap.

I guess this means I'll be able to use some of my jokes that have curses in them. Anyway, we're all mature here, so I'm glad there was enough trust to ease up on the infraction.

I'm not really a potty mouth on forums, but at least when I have to let something out, I can do it freely.

I suppose even though none of us are really going to swear that often it shows that we have moved forward. As we have grown older and matured, so has our community and the bond between us. I believe...
*crickets*
...Ok, fine. SHIT.

Is there a censor feature for theses words Ma'am? I'd really rather not see them no matter how mature people are here.
In short: Is there an option to where i can have them "*"-ed out even though they are allowed now? I really hate seeing such derogatory and insultive words.

I really don't know. For a forum administrator I know next to nothing about Proboards functions and computers in general. I actually just figured out how to make tables because of my art thread, if you can believe that. There's a censor function in my controls, but if I put censors on everything again, nobody will be able to type them without resorting to odd caps/punctuation configurations again.
But in all honesty, the only place anyone's been posting them's been in this thread so far. Most of us are so old that the novelty of cursing and the risk of our parents finding out about it later and grounding us for it has vanished in its entirety. Once the risk's gone, they stop cropping up as much as they used to.

Well, I highly believe in that old phrase "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil". but my belief is more "If you hear, or see it, you're likely to do/say it." So you can see why i would rather prefer we not lighten up, huh? (I would prefer not to pick these terms up myself.)
