No, we haven't got one of those. How does one get an IRC channel in the first place? Also, bdk, Wikipedia is your friend. Also also, cram four extra words into that post before it's too late!!

Setting one up is easy, you just have to register with a server. I just set one up on Freenode. Maybe someone can post this on the main page? To talk: go to www.mibbit.com/chat/pick a nickname set server to Freenode set channel to #legends-station Start talking!

Okay now I get what you are talking about. The clans for Call of Duty communicate with members and other clans largely through IRCs

While I'd have to agree with Mir@k that I doubt anyone will ever be on terribly often, I will try to get in on that myself. Thanks, duo!

Ok! The channel is up. I know it probably won't be booming. The forum itself isn't right now. However, for people working on games or other projects together, it will be really useful.
@bdk: pm me with your specific problem, don't post it here.

I'd like to take this opportunity on behalf of the staff and administration to state that, to my knowledge, this "legends-station" channel is strictly unofficial, we did not consent to the use of 'legends-station' as the channel name, the operator(s) of the channel made no effort to include MMLS staff in its creation or operations, that the MMLS staff have no control over what happens on the channel, and that we can't be liable for any incidents, disruptions, or harassment that occurs on the channel.

I figured one of the staff would jump in to mention something like that. Those are some pretty legitimate concerns, and are most probably reasons we didn't already have one of these in the first place. Probably should've mentioned that earlier.

To my knowledge, "legends station" is not a trademarked/prestigious name and shouldn't be treated as one, but oh well, is not like concerned mothers will come and rant about their children having crap mouths because they learn that in school. Ain't that klewla!? ;D EDIT: Yaaaay nobody's on. Hurray for "i-told-you"ness!

To my knowledge, "legends station" is not a trademarked/prestigious name and shouldn't be treated as one, but oh well, is not like concerned mothers will come and rant about their children having crap mouths because they learn that in school. It's not so much about the trademark issue (although, technically speaking, 'MMLS', 'Legends Station', etc are unregistered trademarks), but rather the appearance of it being endorsed and run by the Legends Station staff. There are a few scenarios where someone may confuse the IRC channel as an official division or service offered by the real MMLS, especially considering the name "#legends-station", with a number of problems stemming from this misconception. Furthermore, I don't think fAB has been contacted yet regarding this, and his reaction to another online hangout using the same name as his own site and directly competing with his forum yet to be determined. I'm just trying to emphasize that there's a difference before there are issues. This would be a non-issue if the IRC room were named and advertised as a completely separate entity.
