Started work on my next weekly paper. This time, it concerns of the first cases of women committing murder (the class subject is Study of Violence in American History, by the way), featuring the infamous Lizzie Borden.

There! I finished 30 Rock. All of it. And I was actually impressed. Aside from Jack neglecting the "Bros before Hoes" adage during his love triangle issue, there wasn't much to complain about, which is stunning considering that the show ran for six and a half seasons and included a love triangle. I can't wait to see what Tina Fey comes up with next!

I'm participating in a project called the NASA University Student Launch Initiative. Basically, It's an extra intensive senior project. Unfortunately, I will not be doing my senior project until next year, so I will be subjected to this again. This is a special class that lasts a year and only counts for one semester.
The weekend before last, I took a 3 hour drive with the team for a test launch. Our rocket smashed to the ground on the first launch, and we had to reconstruct it into a Frankenstein's monster of sorts. We launched again successfully in 2 hours.
We spent that week rebuilding the damaged sections, and drove 5.5 hours to a different launch site this weekend. Our rocket wasn't quite ready to fly, so we spent a few hours preparing it in the frigid cold. We had 2 successful flights, but broke a fin on the second landing.
This week we will repair the fin and install the final payload (the control system). The rocket uses a ram air parachute for guided decent, controlled by an on-board computer that can recognize a ground target. Once we finish making that, we will drive 7 hours this coming weekend to yet another launch site and test it. If we can't launch on that day for any reason, or if the flight fails, we will be disqualified from the competition after a year of work.
To top it all of, we have a paper due the Monday after Spring Break (the Monday after next). Those are about 100 pages long...
I can't say I'm not used to it. If I had even a single day off I would spend it modeling for TLT, doing calculations for rocket engine of my own, or expanding my knowledge of programming.

Looks like Mother Nature wants to hit us with one last round of snow before going away until next winter. I'm fine with that, especially since it was warm enough the past few days before that it's not really sticking to anything outside of the grass right now.

Wow man that sounds like a great experience. I'm not too scientifically inclined (my thing is History) but I have a decent understanding of such things and subscribe to science magazines. I've always wanted to take a class like that or at the very least just go out and observe you guys at work. I was in Arkansas' Electric Vehicle Rally, which basicly promotes alternative energy, hands on technical skills and knowledge of electrical science. We would fix the cars, test drive them, trouble shoot problems, do quiz bowel like things, and preform some (hopefully) funny sketches about electric vehicles. Twice my team of 5 friends won 1st place at State including our senior year. There's no national competition yet so we won as much as was possible and that's a real ego boost. I know of a guy who graduated 2 years before me who teaches a robotics class now. Very interesting stuff. He came to school and showed us videos of the robots in action and the competitions they take them to. Of course alot of the class is programming the robots and there wasn't much he could show us on that. It really interested me but I most likely won't be taking any class like that due to my major and that's a real shame because it seems great. Good luck on rocket class man! and I pray for your success on that monster-sized paper.

Loken That sounds pretty cool about the electric car competition. I wish we had had something like that where I live. Robotics is a field I could really sink my teeth into. Have you seen the latest videos by Boston Dynamics? Whatever I end up doing, I really want it to be on the cutting edge. My big obsession right now though is with liquid rockets. Armadillo Aerospace and Copenhagen Suborbitals are a couple of my favorite groups, and I've seen stunning work out of Reaction Engines Ltd recently. Now my blood's pumping! I gotta check up on ma boyz.

Oh I certainly follow Boston Dynamics! Aside from being a rabid fan of MML, I'm also quite devoted to the Metal Gear series and Boston dynamics take us closer to have real Metal Gear! Of course that's probably not really that good of a thing but I still find it incredibly fascinating. Have you seen the new video of Big Dog throwing bricks? Crazy awesome. I also take alot of interes in everything NASA does and am picking up interest in private space companies.
Unfortunately for our E.V. team this year we most likely won't go to competition. The teams founder (and basically the founder of the whole Arkansas E.V. Rally) is stepping down due to his father being in critical condition and our school can't find anyone qualified to replace him :/. It's the end of an era that my team (last years seniors) built by winning 1st 3 times. The first time I was not a member but I came on the next year. It really is sad but I just hope that AR's EV Rally will continue to grow and reach out to kids all over the state without us and Charles Arnold (the founder, my coach, awesome guy).

I think I have the worst cold ever right now. "Cold" doesn't seem to be a strong enough term to describe it. This is like Coldzilla. A cold that would prompt me to take the day off from school if I still went to school, and I never did like missing that. There just aren't enough tissues in the world right now.

Somehow I haven't posted here in over 2 weeks. How the hell did that happen...Must have been aliens.
There was totally a tornado that nearly hit where I live sometime last week. Er...The week before? I can't remember. But I come from earthquakeland, so I'm not used to it at all. I was anticipating losing all of my art and music, having no place to put my computer. Then I was thinking about a post-tsunami Japan kind of situation and any and all plans regarding survival. That all crossed my mind in a matter of...*counts*...10 seconds. Then someone came into my room and was like "Oh hi, tornado passed. Lawl, bean dip" and left me standing there in a vegetative state. So...uh...Yeah.
I came out entirely unscathed, but now I need to figure out where I'd put my computer during a tornado...

Mr. Foetus It pleases me that your mortal coil has not been prematurely severed. I imagine some time in the future, someone runs up to you and says "tornado's comin'!" You simply look at them, put on a pair of sunglasses, and pull out a garage door opener. Upon pushing the button, your computer slowly rotates while sinking below the floor on a tiny elevator. On second thought, maybe we're going about this the wrong way. Is there any way we can fight off said tornado? Dashe Everyone around here seems to have a cold too. None seem to be that bad, but it's totally ubiquitous.

And then a robo lady voice: "Attention. This is a Class 5 emergency. Lockdown is now in effect. Hold onto your butt cheeks." As for fighting off the tornado...Pringles. Just get a bunch of Pringles chips and throw them at the tornado. I think that would work. Um...Probably. I'll need to check my sources...

There was originally something called Four for February that I saw on NeoGAF, a gaming forum, in which you try to catch up with your backlog. I managed to beat exactly four games. I've decided to extend that goal into March by trying to be three games out of my backlog this month. Currently working on my second in that Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed title. It's glitchy in the bad way at times, but I still like it more than I don't.

...That would've been better in a new topic, considering it's actually pertinent to Legends and not something you'd want to see buried under hundreds of pages of replies.

But it's a real print magazine that was actually circulated to advertise Mega Man Legends back in the 90s. TMMN and Protodude both did an article on it. It counts.
The Random Talk About Nothing Thread is probably the worst place to discuss things pertaining to Mega Man Legends on this forum just because of its size and how easy it is to lose your train of thought in it. When in doubt, erring on the side of caution actually involves taking the "make a thread for it" option.

I think it falls into something of a grey area. While the magazine cover is Legends-related, it's also pretty damn old. Also, if TMMN and Protodude both did an article on it, then it's probably old news, so there wouldn't be much to talk about if a thread was made.
