Okay, I'm back from cookout #1. Aside from my aunt consistently accidentally calling me by the wrong name for the first hour and giving her poodles too much of my cooking for comfort, it was actually a decent visit. It was a total sellout and I wound up getting tipped generously. With cash and, uh, the complete Stephenie Meyer boxset. :07: Apparently my aunt's secretary is a Twilight Mom and convinced her to buy the hardcover boxset and read it for herself.
Despite owning poodles that she thinks are human and mistaking me for someone else for half the day, my aunt at least has decent taste in literature. She physically couldn't finish the first quarter of the first book, and I'm slightly less embarrassed to be related to her. I'm holding onto it to sell online when the next movie comes out for maximum profits. We're splitting whatever we get for it 50-50.
I hope today's cookout's just as fun, because I severely doubt it'll be even half as lucrative.

Gah, my girlfriend is a Twilight nut and so is her mom. She tried to make me watch that movie, but I just walked out of room, I can handle Chicago, or Dear John, (Also I had to suffer through 'Sex in the City' with my mom, but it's equally bad.) but good god not that movie. When the book was big I was recommended by my current literature teacher to read it. I didn't get very far. I turned it back in and got Grapes of Wrath instead.
I too treat animals as humans, just not in a creepy way. And you got paid by family members for the cooking? Crazy.

Yes, they paid me. I'm not about to question it.
I am, however, questioning your affection for this girl who likes live action movie musicals and Twilight. She must really be something special if Twilight wasn't a deal-breaker. As well as your lit teacher's integrity. Twilight has no place in a high school curriculum at any level. x__x

Twilight.... yuck.. My elder sister likes those books, so I keep my dislike to a mimimum. I've heard tell that angry twilight fans are as bad as an army of heartless.. and that's for starters... My camping trip is over, and I'm in Salt Lake City, awaiting my next flight to Atlanta. A good breakfast abroad is not a thing to miss: Stuffed sausage and pepperoni pizza with chocolate milk, and double-chocolate milano cookies for dessert. Yum..... (mental note: ask fAB to make a 'yummy' emotikobun). While I have some time to kill before my flight, I might make a thread for my vacation for this year- I know I made one a few years back, but that pretty much froze up, so I might start a fresh one, detailing the events of the trip. Odds are, though, I won't start on it until I get everything organized... As for Atlanta, I might get chinese food for dinner (with something from Starbucks to wash it down), I'm hoping the fireworks start early- pictures of those at 10,000 ft above is wonderful photo oppurtunity! The Road goes ever on and on, as the the storyteller says, so I'll report in when I get settled in my next stop.

SURPRISE! IT'S NOT OVER YET!
I think I know how all the protagonists at the end of games feel when they beat the final boss and then find out that it has a second form. My dad's having a cookout of his own today. He just decided it this morning. I have to do the cooking. And I doubt anybody will tip this time, even though nobody is going to be related to me. FFFFFFFFFFFFF. Did I ever mention I am not a big fan of surprises?

Awww, I hate surprises, too. Thank goodness I can't cook, that sort of situation would never happen to me. Have fun cooking on such short notice without getting paid. :07:
And uh....lots of Twilight hate going on. I vaguely remember reading the books, and I know they weren't the best (some parts were terrible), but they weren't that bad, were they? I only remember bits and pieces from it though. I feel like I came away from the books slightly entertained, if anything. I'm afraid to even admit I've read the books sometimes, due to the negative reaction people seem to have with the series. :09:

On a somewhat related note, I hope everybody had a nice 4th of July. I got a few sucky (and a few awesome) 3DS pictures of various lights. Nothing that special though. Had a good time. edit: wonder how Dashe's barbeque went.

Well, I have another one today, so I guess you'll all find out tomorrow.
Just kidding. It was boring. And there were no tips. Lots of kids this time, too. They were nice kids, at least. They liked Pokemon and one of them had a DS, but the oldest was five. And none of them had any decent games, which was surprising considering how much they liked Pokemon. It might've just been a passing fad because of the McDonalds toys, but they all seemed at least into it enough to know that McDonalds didn't know that Pokemon wasn't just for boys.

Speaking of those McDonalds toys, I hope they stick around at least until the end of the week. I'm still hoping to buy one of the toys separately at lunch Thursday, when I get paid.
I want my Zekrom figure, demmit. :01:

I might consider taking up model kit building- While in Nevada, I found a good price for a kotobuyika Mega Man kit and had finished assembling it a while ago. Seeing the blue boy smile will make for good encouragement when I get back to school, next month and for those bad times... Though which one to do next, I don't know....
But I do know I can rest tomorrow, which is good- my bones still feel sore from all the traveling I did yesterday :24: . I can ease back into my normal life, it seems...

I want my Zekrom figure, demmit. :01: You better hurry, the promotion is supposed to end on the 7th, which is Thursday, so you should be good. I managed to track down all 8 of the toys. The cashier even recognized me the second time I went back (really…I can’t be the only adult buying a toy and nothing else week after week). It took a little more than two weeks for me to get them all after checking 5 locations, some more than once. Good luck finding Zekrom!

Last weekend I went camping at Spring River in Mammoth Springs AR. We had a great time, it's an annual family event so I got to see alot of family I haven't seen in a while. On the second day I went rafting with my dad and two of my relatives. It was very scenic and relaxing as always but I can really fully appreciate the river. There is alot of drinking, drug use, handing out beads, and uhh, people having sex in the water:24:, and that's really not my bag. I'm a stick in the mud, no excitement kind of guy. Aside from my raft mates almost getting into a fight with some frat boys from U of A, the whole experience was pretty great. Dad had tonnes of fun and I was glad to see him so happy. Oh, and I found a 14 inch long Winchester Bowie knife stabbed in the bank! I took it. The next day before we left, my cousin Logan and I bought two big watermelons and slashed/stabbed them to peices, then ate it!

So it's no surprise I play a lot of Minecraft. I make things like this. Anyone else play it? And what do you personally usually do in it?

I do the Meinkraft. But I haven't played in months.
Speaking of video games, anyone who's played both the original OOT and the 3D version, did they nerf the water temple? I never played the original version, N64 or otherwise. But I made my way through the water temple easily...

I just caught wind of very important news! It's documented in the beginning half of this video.
With instant game downloads, this means that when the MML3 Prototype comes out, and enough people opt-in and download it, then MML3 will be a reality! This is fantastic news!
