I was always a bigger fan of The Learning Company. They were responsible for stuff like The American Girls Premiere, Gizmos and Gadgets, and Operation Neptune. I still remember the stuff I learned about machines in Gizmos and Gadgets to this day! Oh, and The Incredible Machine taught me about additive color mixing with the laser items, too.

Gizmos and Gadgets, hands-down, was one of the best TLC games ever.
Hell, I remember playing it, Number Munchers, and The Secret Island of Dr. Quandary back in my younger school days.
In my teenage school days, though, I stuck to a good ol' PowerMac running MacOS 8 (in all it's utterly BEAUTIFUL Platinum-theme glory) and playing Marathon.
Funfact: Marathon was developed by the Bungie guys, who went on to make the most famous, infamous, and notorious killer app series for the XBox 360. You guys know which one.
SPOILER; if you don't, it's Halo :V

Been starting up Age of Empires II, again. I forget how much fun it is sending in hordes of cavalry to swarm your enemies' towns and pounding down their walls and castles with mighty trebuchets... good times, those.. ... Time to do it again....

Just bought OOT3D last night, just finished visiting Saria and getting her song learned. Trying to do EVERYTHING as I go along, without a guide of any sort. Never beaten the game, but I got through the Water temple on the version I once had for GCN.

Ah, good luck Hanky! If you get stuck, just ask! I'm like an encyclopedia on that game. I've already beaten the main game, and I'm currently working on the Master Quest. I'm inside Jabu Jabu in the quest right now. You will not believe how juiced up the childhood dungeons are...

Yeah, I'm glad that they simplified the water temple- trying to trek through it in the old days. I never played the master quest of OoT, but if it's anything the the 2nd quest of the original LoZ, it's going to be a pain and a half to get through...:11:
I've been sprucing up the backyard for the party, cleaning up the chairs, tables, and deck. A little progress, to say the least, but now I need to keep an eye on the kids- they're gonna use the trampoline...

You're the family babysitter? Hah! I hope you like kids. I get to be king of the grill instead. Queen of the grill wouldn't even be accurate. My cooking is too inherently masculine, and I've got two separate families arguing over who gets me to cook for the 4th of July. They'd better both pay for the food themselves.

I'm all right with my nieces and cousins. I don't have problems with them, most of the time.
I don't do the grill often, but I do remember cooking the steaks a few years back on Labor Day...
Most of the chairs are still wet, and the grocery lists for the party are made. For now though, it's back to the water temple (makes me wonder if Zoras get all wrinkly after a few hours' dip..? ;D )

The Master Quest of OoT is 3DS exclusive, I believe. Unless there was something I missed with my original cartridge... Anyway. The only thing I can see with the Water Temple being simplified would be the fact that the iron boots are a "C-button" item in the 3DS version. Otherwise, it's just as annoying as ever. Plus, when you raise the water level to 1 floor, the cutscene directs you to the underwater passage that gets unblocked when that floating platform rises with the water.
Good times, good times.

The Master Quest was initially a separate game on the gamecube, then it was later rebundled with a few other titles in the series (Lttp, AoL, and the original LoZ) towards the middle of the gamecube's lifespan. I've had no problems with the water temple. RIght now, I just picked up the Eye of Truth and meandered my way into the shadow temple. It still has its rustic, necromatic charm.... and those dead heads still creep me out... Looking foward to seeing Bongo Bongo.. and putting his concert out of its misery. But, that's going to have to wait: We're having pizza for dinner, and we know an excellent place for it, with a little luck, I might add a chicken bake to it, as well..

I see I'm not the only one playing OoT3D. I bought a copy for myself, and've been playing it off and on.
I've made my way to the Forest Temple--well, sort of. I'm stuck trying to get past that big pig soldier at the Forest Temple gate, and it's kind of hard for me to use the Hookshot on the other pig soldiers in such crowded spaces as the Sacred Forest Meadow.
I think it's an absolutely amazing remake, but there are some people who've been giving it pretty bad reviews on GameFAQs when I've checked.
On an unrelated note, I finally have steady internet access at my house.

GameFAQs is a den of trolls, scum, and villainy.:15: Unless you go for the FAQs, there is little to no good there... Bongo Bongo gave me some trouble, last night, but I brought the one-eyed, tone deaf phantom his non-existent knees. But to me, the medallion was a trinket- for not long after the victory, my brother and dad had arrived. We talked, we laughed, we had a few drinks... reuniting with family not seen in a long time, that is truly a prize worth treasuring..

Honestly... I think they nerfed the pig soldiers big time. I don't think I could kill a single one of the spear soldiers, because they were far too quick with the agility and movement. I suppose I should have tried freezing them with the Hookshot, but eh, it's in the past now. Or the future. I still have to get there in the Master Quest. The hammer soldier didn't give me any real trouble, if I'm remembering correctly. I did have to dance in front of him for about a solid half a minute, but he never did hit me.
Did you guys know Jabu Jabu has several cows in him in the Master Quest mode? They're stuck in the walls, underwater, everything. I'm creeped out. -.-
and the only thing that bothers me game-wise in OoT3D is the fact that the chatboxes scroll through the text WAY too fast. It makes several cutscenes awkward, if you know what I mean.

Cows inside Jabu Jabu?? These zoras are crazy! :06: I just made it to the Desert Colossus. I snuck through the Gerudo's Fortress with the skills of Lupin III- didn't get caught once. I wasn't up for fooling around with the thieves, so I brought Biggoron's sword to bear on them- Hyrule's answer to Glamdring, the Foehammer.. ..Guess that would make the Master Sword an equivalent to Anduril ('Flame of the West').. I've almost finished reading The Fellowship of the Ring. The Two Towers is next on my kindle list... I'll pick up the Requim of Spirit, but might have to stop- We need to set everything thing up for the party at noon.

Raven, look at me. Do I look like I visit GameFAQs for the quality conversations?
I frequent 4chan, and I can tell you even the trolls on /m/ or /v/ are better people than at GameFAQs. Buncha twelve-year-olds at GFAQs.
