I often fist pump and say '{insert word here}Complete!'.
Woo, I've been gone for a week for my SkillsUSA trip! Skills is a nation wide competition for work related stuff. (If you guys didn't know of course)
There are alot of competitions. for example graphic design, computer repair, PC Application, Quiz bowl, wood working, welding, chapter business, oral communication, and even things like crime scene investigation and airplane repair.
I did Quiz bowl with some of my friends and we ended up getting 4th out of 15! We didn't get a medal but I still think we did well.
I was a bit disappointed in myself because I only answered one question. I'm too slow on the buzzer, I knew alot of the questions but the other team got to them first. There is always next year though!
My girlfriend is in chapter business, they conduct business meetings. I think it's really boring but I'm still very proud of her, her team got 1st and are going on to nationals!
Anyway I had a great time! have any of you guys ever competed in skills?

Outside the recent posts regarding you-know-what, I've been working on my research paper: out of 14 pages, I've got 8 hammered out. The way things are going, I'll work a few hours into the night, and finish the remainder tomorrow.
The annoying part of it has been that my teacher wanted me to look for more primary sources, and previous assignments, tests, and engagements have kept me from doing that until a few days ago...:24:
Aside from the posts I put in, there is only a choice of evils for me between now and Wednesday, but I hope to get it done and handed in on time. Once the quarter ends, I'm getting me a 3DS..

When I was in middle school and high school we had a choir that steamrolled at all the competitions. The directors left just as I was graduating and now it's not all that great anymore. The musicals are still good (my choreographer wound up promoted to director!), but I don't think they compete the way they used to.  |

Speaking of research papers, I turned in an 8 page Literary essay Friday morning to one of my professors, only to be handed an assignment for a 15 page paper in return. The last day of exams for this place is May 5.
Excuse me while I go slam my head in a door.

I'm gonna be full-time agent hunting, in addition. And writing/polishing my novel in my spare time. And then I'm going to be a full-time grad student....

Just think, once you guys are done with all your research papers, you'll get to experience the wonders and joys of full-time jobhunting! Ah, but I'm one step ahead of you, Dashe. Going back to school was the reason I started Full-time work, years ago. WHen I'm done with the papers, I'm gonna relax! Two more pages remain, and I've shattered the latest block for it. Only a matter of time before I finish it!! *plays track of manical laughter on a tape recorder* |

'Cause this week has been so awesome. Wish I could say the same.  Friday and Saturday was horrible, even though I didn't have school Friday. AND THEN THERE WAS TAKS TESTS THE COMING WEEK. :20: |

Tests... don't remind me. I've got my finals next week. But compared to writing a 14 page paper, it's considerably more bearable...:07: I've hit the 14th page mark, all that's left is the conclusion and I can put this paper to bed at last- I would have done it sooner, but I had a few technical hiccups to deal with.... :15: *EDIT* Yes! The draft is finished! While I do have editing and an annotated bibliography to do, I've finished with the bulk of my paper (I plan to take care of the other two between tomorrow and Wednesday. I'm dead tired, but the hardest part is done...  |

Indeed, Mikey. The hard part is when you know things like dangle over your head like a veritable Sword of Democles. You try to deny it, but it inches ever closer. The paranoia of such things can make a person think sweet is sour, that hot is cold.
Yes, enjoy your breaks while you get them, those are the few times you can act like a human being on your own terms. :24::06::07:
