Does Chrono Trigger fall in the FF series? The Chrono and FF series are practically sister-series (that, and CT appeared with FF4 on the PSX) I'd vote for Final Fantasy anyways, FF8 was awesome, and I liked FF10 a bit too (just don't get me started on Blitzball).

oh crap gimme' a break be fair with me I also can get a chance to vote (for another time stabbed myself with an iron kodachi and again oh crap...still alive...) If you wanna see "some" of the characters from final fantasy you gotta check this game out pretty cool but the battle system is pretty different and that idiot Squall don't want to be called by his original name but Leon (where's the tiger?) crap Yuffie looks like a little girl Aerith appears also...and same as Cloud. You better play this game if you wanna see Squall's new look ( I dunno what happened to Rinoa so don't stab me and still nothing will happen.)

I really liked Final Fantasy 3 and Final Fantasy Tactics, and FF2 and FFX-2 were ok. But in my personal opinion, Final Fantasy games are just getting darker and moodier and slower CGed plot advacement...ier. FFX was terrible to me. The opening killed it; I couldn't stand getting eaten by pirahnas with a half-naked woman in dark waters knowing I'm supposed to be fighting some monster called "Sin." Sorry, just too much for me. Who needs flint anyway, I'll use fire magic to start my fires, thank you very much. I really loved Kingdom Hearts; not for Squaresoft characters, mind you, but for Disney's intervention. All of the bosses are great (although Captain Hook is insanely easier than he should be), and the Heartless are definately great enemies. I really don't care for Sora (pretty standard character if you ask me, pulled from nowhere and given a sword and suddenly he's something special?), but the Disney characters are awesome. Chrono Trigger was good too... even if I didn't finish it. <_<;

OTHER = CHRONO CROSS!!! Chrono Cross 10 50,000,000,000 times better than ANY game!!! First, let me just say that Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are NOT at all like Final Fantasy! Thier battle systems have some similarites, but mostly, they're different i.e. battles avoidable, the whole elemental thing in Chrono Cross, the dual and triple techs in Chrono Trigger, etc. All ya'lls who played Chrono Trigger and liked it (or even if you didn't like it that much and you just like GOOD RPG's in general) PICK THIS UP!!! This is my favorite game of all time, JSYK. The plot it complex and excellent. The battle system is GREAT. And the characters are interesting. Chrono Trigger, too, is very good. I love the characters (Luca and Robo being my favorites) and the whole travelling through time concept. The music is also amazing. Little recomendation for people, don't bother yourselves with the SNES version: the PSX version is sooooooooooooo much better! The anime cutscenes are to die for! And plus, the music is orchestrated, which is always a plus. I like Final Fantasy OK. My favs are Final Fantasy IV (FF2 on the SNES) Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy X/X-2 (which are my favorites. FFX because it has the greatest story EVER and the ending made me weep and FFX-2 cause it has the best gameplay of any FF). Kingdom hearts is probably tied with Final Fantasy. I love LOVE the original content of it. The whole dark vs. light is cool. I can't wait for KHII cause I heard it's supposed to be pretty dark (pun unavoidable). Anyways, as you can tell, I'm a SquareSOFT (no, I do not recognize the merger ) fan boy, but I'm pretty much a fanboy to anything I like. Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger are still the best

Mehehe, thinking on it, I used to give Squaresoft a lot of credit for the Final Fantasy Legends series for the Gameboy. I still consider Final Fantasy Legends 2 and 3 to be the best gameboy games that were ever put out. However, just recently, I learned that actually these games were made by the creators of the SaGa series, so really, it actually has nothing to do with Final Fantasy. They're so much better than most Final Fantasy though.

*snowballs Pharoah* Remember, Square-Enix is what's giving us Final Fantasy nowadays. Without the merger, sure, we'd still have FF, but Square didn't do it ALL on its own...
In the meantime, I'm a KH fan through and through, though my interest in the Parasite Eve games has recently perked up...

Yup, its not just squaresoft anymore. I still voted Final Fantasy though. I got FF1 when i was just about 5. Got FF7 when i was aroudn 12, played and LOVED it. Then i figured if FF7 was so damned good, then the others had to be too. I got FF-Tactics after that, and fell in love (i think im gunna play that tonight now Then I got FF5 and FF6 in the Final Fantasy Anthologies or something, and they rocked. Finally i got FF8, and it was decently cool, a lot different from the usual cartoon characters, but i still liked it a lot. Now im borrowing FF9 from my friend, while he borrowed my FF7. <3 Final Fantasy E>

I must agree with Deek, I am a Final Fantasy fan! ;D FF7 was probably the first (and only) one I actually played through the whole way without becoming bored... as a matter of fact, I'm playing a triple file now! (I started 3 files, but each one takes different routes as far as the optional characters go.. One has neither, the second has Yuffie, and my third one has dad... Wait, I mean Vincent! ) I never played the Chrono Series, although I've seen some of it, but KH never caught my interest for some reason. I still wonder why?

I can't believe you didn't put Threads of Fate as an option! It's one of my favorites, mostly because it's so short, and it's extremely underrated, just like Legends. And Mint is THE best character in all of Squaresoft's games, end of story. If you ever get the chance to pick it up or rent it, I highly suggest that you do so, because it's a great game!

Final Fantasy totally wins, especially if you include all the weird spin-offs like FF Tactics and Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon. Mog needs his own game, though. Kingdom Hearts? That's kind of a spin-off, too, isn't it? I thought that particular game was a little disappointing. But I'd pick Tron Bonne over all of them.

FF is gonna have to take the back burner for right now, Brave Fencer Musashi totally kicked some ass in my opinion, though I wasn't too thrilled with Samurai Legend, but it was decent.
By the way, FFX and up was made by SquareEnix, same with the Kingdom Hearts series and Samurai Legend Musashi. Unfortunately, SquareSoft went bankrupt because of their first FF movie "Spirits Within". If you haven't seen that movie, don't. It was horrible.

Brave Fencer Musashi was pretty cool back when I got it, but I havne't played it for quite some time, so that could just be nostalgia. I'll bust it out some time when I have, y'know, time to play it. That may be a while in coming, though. Haven't played Musashi: Samurai Legend, though.
