Hmm. As far as Final Fantasy goes, I like the sidestories and spinoffs better. FF: Crystal Chronicles was pretty cool. I heard it's coming out on DS, which would be perfect- the game was almost built especially for online/wireless multiplayer. Seiken Dendetsu/Mana series > FF, in my opinion. Legend of Mana has to be one of my favorites EVAH. I've beat it.. what, four, five times? And I'm STILL considering another playthrough. My only dissapointment in the series was Sword of Mana, a remake of the original Seiken Dendetsu/Final Fantasy Adventures. It came so close to both Secret and Legend of Mana, but had too many shortfallings. I remember playing a demo of Threads of Fate in a crowded Wal-Mart one day, and it absolutely ROCKED. I oughta buy a copy of that... I still have $90 from Christmas... to the GameStop! Brave Fencer Musashi was good, I sorta want to get Musashi: Samurai Legends. I never finished BFM; when I realized I had to do the Steamwood puzzle again, I gave up. Kingdom Hearts. Hmm, well, I never officialy finished that, since I didn't ever beat Ansem. My friend informed me on what happens at the end. Good game, I like to call it "Baby's First RPG". I don't mean any insult by that title, but it's action packed enough to keep someone with a short attention span playing and it was pretty simple. Can't wait for the second one. And, to finish my long post, FF: Spirits Within. It wasn't too bad... almost had a Resident Evil feel to it and it has that grim way of systematically killing off most of the characters. It had NOTHING to do with Final Fantasy, though, especially since all the action happens on our very own Planet Earth. That dropped it's Coolness Factor in my opinion.

Parasite Eve. Everyone hates on the sequel but it got me back into the series and made me finish up the first one. It was also the first Playstation game I've ever played, because I grew up mainly on Nintendo and Atari. It was quite a... platform shock. Ignore the sexy pictures of Aya Brea (if you can, males). I swear, she's really a lot more conservative with her very, hnn, messed-up body than that.
No one will ever, ever mention Super Mario RPG, which was practically the first RPG I've played ever. I got it when it first came out for SNES ages and ages ago. God knows where the cartridge is.

Samurai Legend, lets just say I'm glad I didn't buy it. Rather, my sister bought it for me. So I didn't have to waste my money. Plus, near the end, it's gets very anti-climatic and that really pissed me off. But the very last fight (which isn't really a fight, just a one hit-do-or-die sort of thing) was pretty cool. I like how, if you die, the game continues on with the story of Musashi dying and Gandrake taking over the world. Or if you win, Musashi is returned to his homeland.
Oh yeah, Samurai Legend is like a BIG remake of Brave Fencer...just different names, places and instead of the 5 Scrolls, you have the 5 Swords/Maidens.
PS: SquareEnix needs to come out with a direct sequel to Brave Fencer...and not make it crappy. That or remake Brave Fencer and not have it sort of kiddy.

One time I died on purpose in MegaMan Legends just because I think the Game Over music is cool.
Anyway, I am hoping Squeenix starts bringing games to non-Sony platforms, as I don't plan on buying any of those anytime soon. Also, I really didn't like Crystal Chronicles at ALL. I thought it was goofy and unrewarding.

CC's more of a multiplayer thing. When you play it by yourself it's so boring. The fun part's working together with your friends and junk, and that's the part that's supposed to be "rewarding."
You're right about the MML game over music. No other game can top it.

I thought that Disgaea hour of darkness was made by squareenix but it was made of atlus...a piece of big mistaking crap. They said Final fantasy 12 was already in progress or is it already released?

Either you're badmouthing Atlus or Disgaea...? Atlus has done some pretty amazing stuff in the world of strategy RPGs. What they really need to do is kick Ogre Battle back into action, and then they'll be on my favorites list again. I can't imagine why you wouldn't like Disgaea. And I don't think it was Atlus or Squareenix. The problem with Crystal Chronicles is that it wasn't fun with more people. I bought it thinking it was going to be the ultimate multiplayer experience with an innovative use of the GBA uplink: instead, I find my self in an even sub-Gauntlet style system of having to keep my partners in the same space as the mana jar. I don't know if it's different when you know what you're doing *coughhaveastrategyguidecough*, but it also feels like you end up doing the same things over and over.

Why would you need a strategy guide for Crystal Chronicles? It's kind of a simple premise, my brother. You basically just go wherever there is a mana tree springing over and over again. I thought the game was ok, but it's a bit too much trouble playing it since I can't decide on just one character.

I love Disgaea but that CD I borrowed was hanging so I can't continue...that was from my cousin.
