We're... Obsessed...
Free online play. How can you say no? Homework? Job? Family? A LIFE? Do they come with FREE ONLINE PLAY? I think not!
I'll post more about it later but, taking complete advantage of my pre-release day, I have negleted to study for a very important final tomorrow and have no time to be raving about Guild Wars.
P.S. FREE ONLINE PLAY!

Okay... Post above... Okay, I really don't understand you. Ever. Guild Wars is a MMORPG-ish game. It's not quite like one in a couple aspects... First off, only certain maps are shared by all players. Big cities, mostly... They're sort of like meeting areas. From there you can join up with a team (though it's not required, and I think it's pretty easy to solo or you can even hire henchmen later in the game) and they follow you into the game world where you share a map. I personally LIKE that. I'm not so hot on crowded maps, people trying to steal my items, etc. I've only had experince with RPG mode but there's a player vs. player mode as well. That's basically the gist of it. It's a fantasy kinda MMORPG. The base cost is $50 and it costs nothing extra for the online aspect of the game. I'm having a blast with it so far... RANGERS RULE!

Yeah, it’s a real game. The creators call it a “Competitive Online Role-Playing Game”. Click here. Eh, sounds interesting, but… Anyways, maybe if you two could find enough people you could start up a MML guild. Eh, stupid maybe, but it’d be interesting at least. Heh, you could even have the system symbol as you guild emblem. Ah, but I won’t interrupt your fun so you needn’t worry. I shan’t intrude.

Me and Feldi started our own guild! We're "The Pharaohnauts"..... Our initials are MMLS. We're only 2 strong now @_@. But seriously, the map is huge!!! We've only played about 1/60th of the map so far! Seriously, ONE OF YOU GUYS JOIN US!!!

I've bought* Guild Wars...very much like Diablo, or Dungeon Siege...even Runescape... Yes, I actually bought it, JMC...stop acting like I never buy anything
Anyways, I'm interested in joining - I'm a Warrior (atm lvl 5) by the name of "Eric Chiz" (pretty original, huh? huh? nvm)
How would I (and possibly others) go about joining your posse clique gang ring brotherhood guild?

YOU RULE!!!! Ok, I'll send the invitation as soon as I go on (which'll be pretty soon) but there might be one slight problem: have you gotten to the destruction thingie? I don't know if I'll be able to talk with you in the past. Oh well, just constantly check if I'm on while I constantly check if you're on. I'm Lord Xenon, BTW, and I'm a level 8 Ranger/Monk.

That sounds... Interesting... Yes, very interesting. I've never played Runescape, but I've heard that it's very good. However, with this one being new, I may actually be able to create a competitive account before those freaks that play 24/7 leveling up their character overrun it. Perhaps I'll get this. Where can I go about doing that?

Just get it at a GameStop or *shudders* EB Games near you! Or even Target! It'll be sold EVERYWHERE, cause it's pretty popular now. The highest level I've seen someone so far is 13 and I'm level 8 now and haven't played that much. Anyways, ERIC IS NOW AN OFFICIAL MEMBER OF THE PHARAOHNAUTS, HOW ABOUT YOU!??!?! Seriously, though, if you got it, you'd be a blast to play with.

OMG ERIC! YAY! WELCOME TO THE PHARAOHNAUTS! If there was any more character space, we would rename it the Phaericohnauts, but alas! We're saving up for a cape right now... I've got 1,300g or so (it costs 2,000), but I obviously don't want to spend ALL MY MONEY on a cape... I need equipment and things too! So small donations are welcome from you two who are in the guild. Definitely not necessary though, as I know it's really difficult to make money in this game. Actually, I made a new character and am buying a ton of dye for really cheap prices in the pre-Searing world, so once I cross over, that account will have a lot of extra money that hopefully PharaohMan will be willing to assist me in transfering over to my main account... I had some newb actually GIVE me dye yesterday... This is the design I'm hoping to make: Actual shape of the cape is up for debate although THERE SHALL BE NO TATTERED CAPES!! GOSH! I HATE THOSE THINGS! I think it looks pretty sharp myself, but if there are any major complaints (like, it looks so ugly you think you may puke), be sure to let me know before I actually create it (current and prospective members ). EDIT: Well, forget about feedback. I got way too excited about having a cape so I went ahead and sold some dye to make it. I think it's a pretty agreeable design, though. Except that it makes Eric's computer lag.
From what I understand, this game is very atypical of MMORPGs. The level cap is very low Level 20. After that point, mission rewards involve skill points instead of XP, used to bulk up the effectiveness of certain types of your attacks as well as your primary special skill (in the example of a Mesmer, it's Fast Casting: the more skill points assigned to it, the faster your energy recharges allowing you to cast more spells in a shorter amount of time). I haven't had much experience with PVP, but I'm told this system really evens things out. Also, no one class has any advantage over another overall. The game is based on skill, something that definitely keeps me going (I LOVE STRATEGY). Also, I've found it's not a difficult game to learn at all. This was my first MMORPG type game ever and I had no problem picking it up. Not a whole lot of foreign concepts if you're familiar with RPGs at all. The problem lies in finding people to play with... I swear, NOBODY is willing to help you with personal quests once you reach the real world (just the big missions), which is why this guild isn't just a "because everybody else is doing it" thing. Guilds offer a solid group of people who should always be willing to quest with each other, help each other out, etc. I at least know PharaohMan and I will. Even though we get no XP from weak enemies ( ), we know it sucks getting stuck, and it's just always nicer to play with real people than henchmen. And it's just better to join a guild with people you know outside the game. Heck, I'd prefer to play with MMLS people just because I know we're such a zany, fun group. It's a guaranteed good time. We can make Legends jokes while we play or something. Also, I can't wait to have a guild hall, even though I suspect it's gonna cost AN ARM AND A FREAKING LEG! ...And I have to get out of Ascalon first too. By the way, don't think I've mentioned my character names... Huntress Hilda - Ranger/Mesmer - Level 10 Lady Masque - Mesmer/Monk - Level 5 Doesn't matter which one you friend. Even if I'm on the other character, it'll show up. That's the other thing, though. If you join a guild, all your characters are in it. Not sure if that's nonstandard or what, but that's the way it goes. Lady Masque... Can't figure out how nobody had that name before I snatched it. It's just too obvious, what with the Mesmers' little Zorro masks and all. ...DO I TALK ENOUGH ABOUT THIS GAME?!

lol - too bad ya can't put a zakobon or something on the cape...
Anyways...I recommend this game to everyone...if you can afford the one-time $50 USD price tag, then definitely you should go out and get the game.
Anyways, I've heard talk of guild halls...how does that work?
BTW...Warriors rule!

I'd join and all (I'm bored these days), but I don't have the money to spend right now. I'm not thinking of getting it after seeing Gamespots review of it, I'm seriously considering buying what I hate, an RPG, AHHHHHHHHHHH. Sorry, but most of you know I was most dissapointed to hear about the Namco X Capcom game being RPGish.
So, is this game all that good, really, I'd like to know what you guys think before I even consider buying it any further. I would like to know more gameplay details especially though.

It's only been 5 days since the last post, so I don't think posting this will be a huge faux-pas... besides, I have something to say concerning Guild Halls. Ok, I've looked around that various Guild Halls available, and I've brought back pictures from each one. Still not sure the cost of one (only Guild Leaders are privy to that knowledge) Anyways, this is the ship you ride on to the islands the Halls are kept on...here's the selection for previewing them: Ok, and here's the pictures from each... WARRIOR 1 2 3HUNTER 1 2 3WIZARD 1 2 3FROZEN 1 2 3NOMAD 1 2 3DRUID 1 2 3ISLE OF THE DEAD 1 2 3BURNING 1 2 3Anyways, there's unique things about each one (like, Nomad has teleporters and quicksand; Frozen has an icy lake (which slows you down); Warriors & Hunters both have catapults. Anyways, I think I'm done.
