Day 1: Downloaded game. Took awhile. Couldn't think of name, so entered the first random nonsensical word that came to mind. Became a Mesmer as primary, Necromancer as secondary. Game slowed computer down like the devil. Frame rate falling into the negatives. Begun training. Girl named Gwen is following me everywhere. Does absolutely nothing of any value whatsoever. Tells mind numbing stories. Suspect that she's trying to hypnotize me in order to take my flowers to pawn them to merchants.
Ascended to level 5 by the end of play session. Log out.
Day 2: Logged on. Thrown into a temporary fit of spasms due to lag. Made a note to assassinate CEO of company that engineered video card next time I'm out. Trained a bit more. Gwen continues to hold her useless streak. Several quests later, entered post-searing era. Killed many times in multi-player matches. Lost 80% of stats due to continued death. Suspect that I may need a team soon.
Ended at level 6. Log out.
Not bad. I need a lot more training though. -_-

WOW.... Did you make a PVP character or something??? AND OMG, ISN'T GWEN THE MOST ANNOYING CHARACTER??? Anyways, for the Guild Halls, I say Hunter's or Druid's island cause they look the coolest. That's just my opinion.
BTW, what's your Guild Wars name, MltMlt???

That would be 'Emelti Matsu', Emelti representing the letter combination I use in just about every one of my fabricated identities, and matsu because I couldn't for the life of me think of anything else to put there.
PVP? I'm not sure, I can't remember. I believe I requested that I be able to play as both a single player and in teams/against others. I think the other choice was only PVP, no? Would it have quickened up my gameplay a little? o.o
Also, glad to hear that I'm not the only one pestered by Gwen. Speaking of which, I just found her broken flute on my last play, which disturbs me, as I had hoped that she died in the searing... *creepy silence*

@ mltmlt22 lol - I have 2 Broken Flutes - they're completely useless, can't be traded, salvaged, sold/bought, and aren't a quest item. All they do is take up space (and each take seperate spaces - it isn't a collect-as-many-as-you-want-as-they'll-all-go-in-the-same-slot item... Though I cant get myself to get rid of them...Feldi says there was a joke with Gwen that she did something freaky in the game's betas (can't remember what) and that the Broken Flute is possibly an in joke relating to that event. @pharaohman I myself was looking at either the Warrior or the Ranger...So, we've got 2 votes for the Ranger hall... BTW - Those guild halls, they're basically Capture-The-Flag arenas (I think). Everyone knows what Capture-The-Flag is, riiiiight? No? Google it. Santa Melty (again) My system lags A LOT and I have a top-of-the-line system. It all comes down to my cheap-<censored> stupid piece of <censored> onboard graphics controller (Intel's gonna pay!) which, BTW, is on the dreaded "unsupported hardware" list @jmc You were getting the game...you have it yet? If so, what's your GW name? @everyone else 200th post - "w00t"

Yay! Thanks for crazy elaborate views of the guild halls, Eric. I know it must have taken a lot of time. Honestly, I have to go with Hunter's as well. It's not my favorite as far as looks goes but once you mentioned catapults--OMG!--I was sold. And OH GOSH. I LOVE CAPTURE THE FLAG! ;D ;D ;D And MLT! Glad to have you in the game. Eric or PharaohMan can send you out an invitation to the guild, though you don't HAVE to join, but we have such a sharp cape! And even if you don't, you can friend us for sure. It's always nice to be able to team up with someone you know, in my experience. ((And, uh, still working on being un-banned from the game. I'm working as quickly as I can.))

Ahh, I shall be looking forward to it. Especially since I can't even earn my our experience points at level 6 in this game, with all of those blubbering Grawls healing themselves. I'm confined to the excruciatingly slow task of doing inane quests. It's like playing Scramble.
But now that I think about it, I never actually win Scramble... o.o
All this talk of ships and catapults... You people are so far ahead of me it's not funny. What the heck am I doing here? I should be sloshing my way through those confoundedly slow servers towards victory!
Of course, I could get lucky and inherit an account from some retiring veteran... Well, luck favors the prepared, I suppose.

I finally got the game. Stupid liars at Circuit city, I want to punch them out and ... anyway have the game. I am trying to install it right now. I have never played a massively multiplayer RPG in my life, so be free to laugh at my n00bness.
I haven't even played and you guys are confusing me.

Day 3: Attempted my first team mission today. Tricked 3 guys into doing all the work. I laugh at them. Ha. Ha ha. And ha even. Learned how the chat system works. After much searching, I was able to confirm that Gwen had indeed bitten the dust. Burned her flute to celebrate. Joined some guild. Got a really snappy cape for free.
Ended playing at level 8. Was also able to amass some 800 gold. Log out.

Yeah, some guild it is . I thought it was fun playing with people you know, and you did do some work! AND YAY! GWEN IS FINALLY DEAD...... she did give me exp though for finding her broken flute in Old Ascalon, but only one stupid tapestry piece after giving her a million flowers.

Now if only we had more guild members... I am 99% to level 11, but I had to go to work . Anyway, Pharaoh and Feldinaut said something about them not being able to do a mission because they weren't strong enough, so I went and did it myself, without them (Ashes mission) The ticket is to fight everything until the hydras, run your *** past them, then get to the fire area with the brick ground. Die there and you'll respawn right by the ash place. There will be lots of enemies, and you will die a lot. But when you do it finally it will be worth it. Wait MLTMLT22, you laughed at me . *goes and hides in corner do to lack of self esteem* I was wondering, Have you found a way to fix your horrible lag, it really seems to be affecting your gameplay.

Lag is something that can only be fixed with better hardware (processor, memory, modem/connection, and video card are the main ones)...of course, there will be times where a PC built in, say, 56xx, will still have problems because of the number of people streaming game files from ArenaNet's server (and, of course, all computers need to eventually contact the other machines to coordinate gameplay, so, that slows things down too) My quick, free suggestion for getting rid of lag: Close your eyes for 5 seconds, and hope it's gone when you reopen them. Set your guy on a battle while you've closed your eyes...Party members who only observe others battling is EXTREMELY irritating.Santa MeltyYa think you could keep your daily journal somewhere else, like in a notepad file (or, if you think everyone really does need to see it, an online blog). IMO (don't know about anyone else) but all that journal is doing in padding your post count with material that, again IMO, is only meaningful to you. *notices I'm losing friends fast*@ everyone else Looks like we will go with the Hunter's Hall...I'll post a few more pictures here when I get a chance.

Well... JMC pulled ahead of me rather quickly. It's a shame. I was hoping to not fall behind for at least another week or so.
Wait, I never knew Gwen gave stuff out if you gave her flowers. Maybe I should have given her those other 10 or so I was hording...
My lag is likely due to my video card, which falls into the list of unsupported hardware. I'll take care of that next time I have a lot of cash to burn. Terribly annoying though, especially in PvP matches. I'm often not able to move until about 10 seconds into the match. Once it took so long that the other team had enough time to kill everyone else AND come up to me and make the kill before I could even launch an attack. Horribly embarrassing.
Ha ha, you spelled 'due' as 'do'! ;D *points and laughs*
Meh, I only post my advances in that format because I found it to be an entertaining way to convey my opinion. For me anyway. So I guess it is only meaningful to me. If it's that annoying, I'll gladly stop. o.o

Actually, mlt, I thought it was pretty entertaining. And it's not like you're posting four words each time either (geez, that drives me nuts).
And don't worry about falling behind. Eventually we'll all hit 20 and it won't really matter anymore.
AND OH GOSH CATAPULTS *combusts*

You don't need to buy a super video card, I'd find a Geforce fx 5200 okay, and 50$, but when you do have money to burn, e-geforce 6800 GT OC is the card to buy, but its 400$, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you really want a cool card and have a loooooooooooot of money.
Anyway, We need to all band together sometime and go on the bigger missions, because these areas are getting old fast.
