There are two kinds of RPG's I know of, and thats realtime, where you actually play the game and have fun, and turnbased, where you choose all the stuff, such as attack and stuff, and watch what happens, which I tend to really picky when it comes to RPG's, I may of played one turnbased RPG I liked in my entire life, and its not a final fantasy game, I never played any of them since 5 and 5 wasn't all that great to me

There are Turn Based RPGS's, ATB RPGS, (Often confused for turn based RPG's because of a similar nature) Tactical RPGs, Action RPGS and the maligned and terrifying Isometric RPGS. But we don't talk about those in mixed company.

...Oh my. Paragon, it's official. I'm now 100% convinced you're insane. How can you even compare--I mean--WHAT THE--*brain explodes* I really hope you're not defining an RPG 1 as "a game with a plot" which, sadly, I've seen some people do. That's just... Wrong, wrong, wrong. And I know it's really getting off the topic, but Gren, I hadn't heard of a few of those RPG classifications before, ATB and Isometric... Or at least I'm not recognizing them. Could you give some examples, if you don't mind? (Unless isometric is somethng I don't WANT to know about. ) 1As a side note, I think we can all agree (I guess) that "RPG" is really a horrible acronym for the games placed in that genre, as you rarely ever "play a role" with any sort of freedom of choice. Except, you know, when to attack and when to use magic. EDIT: Okay, Paragon, repeat after me: EVERY GAME NEED NOT BE COMPARED TO AN RPG TO BE ANY GOOD, OR EVEN EXCELLENT.(In response to below.)

It's the truth! MML plays SORT OF like an RPG! Yo no soy loco! I'm not crazy! I am VERY sane, and it takes an insane person to KNOW an insane person.
(In response to above edit.)
I'm not saying that! I'm saying that Legends is LIKE an RPG in some ways, BUT I like the ACTUAL genre it is in, which is action/adventure.

Paragon, you're going to have to give some MAJOR examples before you can convince me. That empty statement isn't doing anything to reinforce your opinion.
(And you might as well go back to the first post you made about it, since we're taking up space.)

I think the game looks fairly interesting on its own (although I only recognize a few of the Namco characters(hopefully, MS. Pac-Man will be included as a playable, right?), but the inclusion of everyone from our favorite MegaMan universe really solidify the deal.
That being said, I am not planning on importing a copy---I'm very stodgy on that point. If I can't read the text, a game isn't going to work for me, especially a RPG-like strategy game, I'm not talking about Balloon Fight or something. That I could play the Japanese version of.
ALSO: I think Tron Bonne could be compared to an RPG, but not the mainstream games.

ATB: Active Time Battle, seems similar to Trun Based, because the net effect is similar. The RPG's where you get to act when your characters gauge fills up. Distinction is almost moot.
Isometric RPG's msut never, ever be discussed, or the ancient ones listed in The Book of Dead Names will arise once more from their miillions of years of slumber, and devour all of mankind like the tastiest and most utterly delectable of all possible morsals.

For pete sakes gren its a camera view!
An isometric game is a 2d game with its camera facing 45 degrees upword from the ground and 45 degrees rotated from any standard compass degree(90,180,270,and 0 of course).
I've never played an rpg with it though.
Never played an rpg either.

That's absolutely ridiculous and vague. About 90% or more video games require you to do that. The only thing that really separates an RPG from other types of games is its type of battle system, which Legends DOESN'T have. Every other characteristic of an RPG is shared by at least one other genre. Therefore, I say any game that doesn't have an RPG type battle/stat system ISN'T an RPG in any way. Seriously, it's like some people just compare EVERY SINGLE GAME to RPGs. I really don't understand it. I don't care if it's your favorite genre, or you think it's a compliment or whatever. It's just nonsensical. Some non-RPGs have good stories. Some RPGs have horrificly bad stories. RPGs sometimes require you to go on sidequests or have them as optional... ...But so do a ton of other types of games. If the only comparisons you can come up with are this vague then... Well. You're not doing much to prove me wrong. I STILL can't see where you guys are coming from. EDIT: Now I, a mod, am setting a horrible example by dragging this so much further off-topic... I'd encourage Paragon, Roll, or whoever to start a new topic about this "Is Legends Like an RPG?" thing if you STILL feel like arguing it. Though I hope you don't.

okay, what will the battle system be like in the this game, will it be Turn based RPG, Action game, or something. (I kind of started the arguement when I put something about RPG's, what a mistake that was)
Anyway, I think any Legends fan will try this game or buy it, if they have the console for it, even though I may think the game is stupid, I will rent it, and play the Legends characters, just to play the legends characters again.

This game is a strategy RPG game, which essentially means it's turn-based, only with a lot more characters and such. By the way, I found some screenshots, which, unfortunately, do not feature Tron, the Servbots, or anyone else, but do illustrate the gameplay to a point. www.rpgfan.com/pics/namcoxcapcom/index.html
